Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a tool cabinet, and more particularly to a tool cabinet with a collapsible stand assembly for conveniently supporting and holding a user's accessories.

2. Description of Related Art

A conventional tool cabinet has multiple drawers slidably mounted in a hollow body and holding tools inside to allow a user to use and trim the tools conveniently. However, the conventional tool cannot hold accessories of the user, such as hat, shoes or telephones, and the user must find another location for holding them. The conventional tool cabinet is not convenient and versatile in use.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide a tool cabinet to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide a tool cabinet having a collapsible stand assembly for holding a user's accessories conveniently.

The tool cabinet has a hollow body and a collapsible stand assembly. The body has multiple drawers slidably mounted in the body. The collapsible stand assembly is attached to the body and has a bottom frame, two side frames and multiple supporting frames. The bottom frame is securely attached to the body. The side frames are pivotally connected to the bottom frame. The supporting frames are pivotally connected to the bottom frame between the side frames and are detachably supported on the side frames.

Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a tool cabinet with a collapsible stand assembly in accordance with the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the collapsible stand assembly in FIG. 1;

FIG. 3 is an exploded perspective view of the stand assembly in FIG. 2;

FIG. 4 is an operational perspective view of the tool cabinet in FIG. 1 showing that a user's accessories are mounted on the stand assembly; and

FIG. 5 is an operational perspective view of the tool cabinet in FIG. 1 showing that the stand assembly is folded to a collapsed condition.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIG. 1, a tool cabinet in accordance with the present invention comprises a body (10) and a collapsible stand assembly (20). The body (10) is hollow and comprises multiple drawers (12) slidably mounted in the body (10) for holding tools inside and wheels (14) for easily moving the tool cabinet.

With further reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, the collapsible stand assembly (20) is securely attached to the body (10) and comprises a bottom frame (22), two side frames (23,232) and multiple supporting frames (24). The bottom frame (22) is securely attached to the body (10) with fasteners or a welding process. Two wings (21,212) are securely attached to and extend parallely from two ends of the bottom frame (22). In a preferred embodiment, the wings (21,212) have different widths to each other, i.e. one of the wings (21) has a width shorter than that of the other wing (212). The side frames (23,232) are pivotally connected to wings (21,212) on the bottom frame (22), respectively. The side frames (23,232) have different widths to each other, and one pair of connected wing (21) and side frame (23) has a total width equal to that of the other pair of connected wing (212) and side frame (232). In other word, the side frame (23) connected to the shorter wing (21) has a width larger than that of the other side frame (232) connected to the longer wing (212). The supporting frames (24) are pivotally connected to the bottom frame (22) between the wings (21,212) and the side frames (23,232) and are detachably supported on the side frames (23,232). In an optional embodiment, each side frame (23,232) has multiple hooks (234) respectively corresponding to, hooking onto and supporting the supporting frames (24). With the engagement between the hooks on the side frames (23,232) and the supporting frames (24), the supporting frames (24) and the side frames (23,232) are kept from pivoting relative to the bottom frame (22) and collapsing, and the stand assembly (20) is held in an expended condition.

With reference to FIG. 4, when the stand assembly (20) is in an expended condition, user's accessories, such as hat, shoes or telephone can be put on and supported on the supporting frames (24). Because the stand assembly (20) is securely attached to the body (10) and cam be moved with the body (10) to any location where a user works, the user can easy take and use his/her accessories on the stand assembly (20) during working. To place the accessories at another location is unnecessary, and the tool cabinet is versatile and convenient in use.

With reference to FIG. 5, when the stand assembly (20) is not in use, the supporting frames (24) can be pivoted relative to the bottom frame (22) to disengage from the hooks (234) on the side frames (23,232). The supporting frames (4) are pivoted to be substantially parallel with the bottom frame (22) and are held in the space between the wings (21,212). The side frames (23,232) are then pivoted relative to the wings (21,212) and holds the supporting frames (24) inside the space between the wings (21,212). Accordingly, the stand assembly (20) is in a collapsed condition, and the space for storing or transporting the tool cabinet with the stand assembly (20) is reduced.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
