Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to tread machines, and in particular to a slidable treadle of a treading machine, which provides various traces in the movement of the treadles and can protect those using the machine from harm.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently people are lack of space for exercise. Therefore, more and more home used exercise machine are developed. Tread trainers are especially popular, which are widely used and accepted by various people. Thus, more and more functions related to tread machines are developed.

The prior art tread machine has two treadles. One end of the treadle is pivotally installed. Each treadle is used for one foot. Although the prior art structure has some advantages in training, the moving trace of the treadle is simple. They move along a fixed liner path. No sliding movement is designed. However sliding is a nature of human in walking. Thus, the prior art tread machine easily hurts users. Thereby the trace of the tread machine is dull and simple so that it is often that people is easy to feel tired and thus put the machine aside not to use it again.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a slidable treadle of a treading machine, which provides various traces in the movement of the treadles and can protect those using the machine from harm.

A slidable treadle of a treading machine comprises a seat having two supporting rods; each of two sides of the supporting rod having a damper for providing a resisting force to the treadle as the treadle is treaded; two treadles pivotally installed to two sides of the seat; each treadle having a main rod portion and a sub-rod portion for pivotally installing to the seat; one end of the main rod portion being pivotally installed to the treadle and another end thereof being pivotally installed to the seat; one end of the sub-rod portion being pivotally installed to a middle section of a respective one of the two treadles and another end thereof being pivotally installed to the seat. Using above structure, the treadles move upwards, downwards, forwards and rearwards.

A head extends from one end of the seat and the head is installed with a handle.

The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be provided in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the slidable treadle of a treading machine of the present invention is illustrated. The slidable treadle has the following elements.

A seat 10 has a left supporter 11 and a right supporter 11 at a front end thereof. A rear end of the seat 10 has a supporting rod 12 for stabling the seat 10 not to vibrate or turn over. A cylindrical head 13 extends from a middle portion of the left supporter 11 and the right supporter 11. A display 131 is embedded into the head 13 for displaying some exercise data, such as treading times, consumed power, etc. A linkage 132 is pivoted to the head 13. A first pivotal tube 14 is inserted through the head 13 and a second pivotal tube 15 is located upon an upper side of the seat 10 near the head 13. Each of two sides of the supporting rod 12 has a damper 16 which may be, for example, an oil pressure rod. The damper 16 serves for providing a resisting force to the treadle 20 as the treadle 20 is treaded.

Two treadles 20 are at two sides of the seat 10. The linkage 132 interacts with the two treadles 20. When one treadle 20 is treaded, another treadle 20 will restore to the original position. The display 131 and the linkage 132 are known in the prior art and thus the detail will not described herein. The first pivotal tube 14 and second pivotal tube 15 serve to pivotally install the treadles 20. Each treadle 20 has a main rod portion 21 and a sub-rod portion 22 for pivotally installing to the seat 10. One end of the main rod portion 21 is pivotally installed to a front end of the treadle 20 and another end thereof is pivotally installed to a hole of the first pivotal tube 14. One side of the main rod portion 21 is formed with a groove 212 for receiving the linkage 132. A retainer 211 serves to position the linkage 132 to the groove 212. Thereby the main rod portion 21 interacts with the linkage 132. One end of the sub-rod portion 22 is pivotally installed to a middle section of the treadle 20 and another end thereof is pivotally installed to a hole of the second pivotal tube 15. One end of the damper 16 is pivotally installed to a middle section of the sub-rod portion 22 for providing a resisting force to the treadle 20 as the treadle 20 is treaded.

In assembly, the two dampers 16 are pivotally to two sides of the supporting rod 12 of the seat 10. The main rod portion 21 is pivotally installed to the front end of the treadle 20. The sub-rod portion 22 is pivotally installed to a middle section of the treadle 20. Then the sub-rod portion 22 and the damper 16 are installed. The linkage 132 is located in the groove 212 of the main rod portion 21. Then the retainer 211 serves to confine and fix the linkage 132 so that the linkage 132 interacts with the main rod portion 21. Finally, the main rod portion 21 and the sub-rod portion 22 are pivotally installed to the first pivotal tube 14 and second pivotal tube 15 of the seat 10. Thus the assembly of the present invention is completed.

Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, in use of the present invention, when no treading action, the main rod portion 21 and sub-rod portion 22 are pivotally installed thereto will control the treadle 20 to move along a cambered trace. In the moving process of the treadle 20, the main rod portion 21 will cause the treadle 20 at another side to move to a front upper side in a reverse path. Therefore, the treadles 20 can be treaded by users so as to move reciprocally. The moving path of each treadle 20 is from the front upper side to a rear lower side along a cambered path. The treading process is similar to the human motion.

Referring to FIG. 3, the treadle 20 is at a high position of the front upper side. When a first treadle 20 is at a higher position, it is treadable. After it is treaded, see FIG. 4, the treadle 20 moves backwards and downwards and the main rod portion 21 will drive the linkage 132 and then the linkage 132 pushes a second treadle 20 to move forwards and upwards. When the first treadle 20 moves to the rear and lower position, the second treadle 20 will move to a front and upper position. Then the user treads the second treadle 20.

When the treadle 20 is treaded at a higher position to move toward the lower and rear position, the sub-rod portion 22 will provide resisting forces to the damper 16 so as to compress the damper 16. Thus, the body 1 may move reciprocally.

Referring to FIG. 5, the second embodiment of the treadle 20 of the present invention is illustrated. Those identical to the first embodiment will not be described. Only those differences are described. To have a stable treadle structure, the head 13 extends upwards from the seat 10 and is installed with a handle 17. The user can hole the handle 17 to retain in a balance position.

The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
