BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention generally relates to a helmet. In particular, the present invention relates to a multi-functional helmet.

2. Background of Prior Art

There are currently various types of helmets in the market place. For example, there are helmets for motorcycle drivers, helmets for military personnel, and helmets for workers working in hazardous conditions. The basic function for all these helmets is safety. However, under special circumstances, the user of a helmet is required to constantly observe or monitor the surrounding. Yet, the helmet in use may block or limit the field of vision of the user. For example, the helmet might block the side vision of the helmet user. Also, the user of the helmet may be difficult to turn his or her head. Therefore, it is inconvenient for the helmet user to observe the surrounding behind the helmet user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is the object of the present invention to provide a multi-functional helmet so that the user of the helmet could observe and monitor the surrounding around and behind the user of the helmet without turning the head or the body of the user.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a multi-functional helmet so that the user of the helmet could safely and conveniently observe surrounding, particularly in a military usage.

The multi-functional helmet comprises a helmet main body, a display screen in the front of the helmet main body, a camera located on the side or the back of the helmet main body. Said main body comprises a digital photo converter and a power supply. Said display screen, camera are electronically connected with the digital photo converter and to the power supply.

Preferably, the display screen is positioned in the front of the helmet. It is also preferred that multiple cameras are positioned on the side and the back of the helmet. It is further preferred that a camera is positioned on the top of the helmet main body. Preferably, the helmet main body contains an illuminating device.

Because there are a display screen in the front of the helmet and cameras on the side or back of the helmet, the user of the helmet can observe the surrounding around or behind the user without the need to turn his or her body or head. Therefore, the multi-functional helmet improves the user's safety and provides convenience.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a profile of the multi-functional helmet in use by a user.

FIG. 2 is a top view of the multi-functional helmet.

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

According to FIG. 1, the multi-functional helmet includes a helmet main body 1. The main body 1 can be various types of helmets. A display screen 2 is positioned at the front 11 of the helmet main body 1. There is a camera 3 in the back 12 of the helmet main body 1. There are a digital photographic converter 4 and power supply (not shown) within the helmet main body 1. Display screen 2, camera 3 are electronically connected with the digital photographic converter 4 and the power supply.

When operating, the user of the helmet can turn on the power supply. The camera 3 can take photos of the surrounding objects and transmit the photos through the digital photographic converter 4 to the display screen 3 in the front 11 of the helmet main body 1. Therefore, the user of the helmet can monitor the surrounding behind the user's back while walking forwards. This type of helmet is particularly useful in the military. For example, the helmet is useful for a soldier in a lookout, movement, or compact situation. The helmet is also useful in domestic police patrol. It is also useful in the civilian use for a motorcyclist and a bicyclist to observe and monitor traffic condition behind, or when walking in the wilderness or remote area, constantly monitoring the surroundings. Because of its unique features, the helmet user does not need to turn his or her head in a wide angle in order to observe the surroundings behind. As a result, the safety and convenience of the user improve.

In the present embodiments, the display screen 2 can be fixed in the front 11 of the helmet main body 1. Alternatively, the display screen 2 can be foldably fixed on the front 11 of the helmet main body 1 so that the display screen 2 can be folded when not in use. Additionally, the camera 3 can be positioned in the back 12 of the helmet main body, the left or right side of the helmet main body 1. A camera can also be positioned on the tope of the helmet main body 1 in order to achieve multi-directional monitoring. In addition, an illuminating device can be positioned on the helmet main body 1.
