Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a zipper for hiding an engagement portion of a fastener in a fastener tape not to be exposed out, wherein an opening is formed in a grip connector so that various kinds of grips may be conveniently attached to a center guide of a slide.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A conventional side fastener has a slide grip coupling unit having a closed shape like a ring, which makes it difficult to easily attach various kinds of grips thereto. In addition, a lock is provided to a grip portion of the slide, which results in complex configuration and many parts, thereby causing much cost in manufacturing.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is designed to solve the problems of the prior art, and it will be described below in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A slide fastener for a zipper including a fastener tape protruded long so that a fixing portion of both fasteners 1, 1a is attached to an inner layer 2b of the fastener tape 2, 2a by means of a sewing yarn 3 and an inner layer of the fastener tape to which a fastener is attached is folded outward so that an outer layer 2d of a folding portion 2c hides the fastener fixing portion; and a slide 4 in a guide groove of which an outer side of the fixing portion of both fasteners 1, 1a is inserted so that a center guide 4a formed on an upper center surface of the slide is exposed between the fastener tape folding portions 2c,

wherein an opening 5a is formed in an inner portion of the grip connection portion 5 formed at a front end of the slide center guide 4a so that various kinds of grips 6 may be conveniently attached through the opening 5a.

The grip connection portion 5 is formed at the front end of the center guide 4a of the slide 4, and the opening 5a is formed in its inner portion. Thus, if the hook 6a of the grip 6 is inserted into the connection portion 5 and then the opening 5a is pressed to be closed, the grip is coupled to the slide. Thus, various grips 6 may be coupled in a way of widening the opening 5a of the grip connection portion 5 by a human power and then closing it again, so the various grips 6 may be conveniently attached. In addition, since the center guide 4a of the slider is exposed between folding portions 2c of both fastener tapes 2, 2a, the slide is easily reciprocated. Moreover, since a lock is not provided to the grip of the slide, it is possible to reduce a manufacture cost of the slide and ensures a good appearance of the slide fastener.

Claims

1. A slide fastener for a zipper, including:

a fastener tape having two fasteners, each fastener including a fixing portion attached to an inner layer of the fastener tape by means of a sewing yarn and an inner layer of the fastener tape to which a fastener is attached is folded outward so that an outer layer of a folding portion hides the fastener fixing portion; and
a slide having a guide groove for receiving an outer side of the fixing portion of each of the two fasteners, and a center guide formed on an upper center surface of the slide operatively disposed between the two fastener tape folding portions, the center guide having a flexible, unitary grip connection portion defining an opening at a front end of the center guide;
wherein the grip connection portion is configured to flex upon application of a force sufficient to vary a width of the opening to a degree necessary to allow a grip to be removed or inserted through the opening so that various kinds of grips are conveniently interchangeably engaged with the slide through the opening without disassembling the slide.

2. A slide for a zipper fastener, comprising:

a base having two side walls, each said side wall having a flange, said flange extending from said side wall toward the other flange, said base, side walls and flanges defining a groove in said base;
a center guide extending from said base at a forward end thereof, said center guide disposed between said side walls and flanges; and
a unitary grip connection portion formed on said center guide, having a flexible, substantially C-shaped configuration;
wherein said grip connection portion is configured to flex upon application of a force sufficient to vary to a degree necessary to allow an interchangeable grip to be removed or inserted via said C-shaped configuration without disassembling the slide;
whereby upon receiving a grip, said C-shaped configuration is compressed so as to secure the grip within an inner portion of the grip connection portion.
