Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to a cooking device, more particularly to a cooking device having a tray unit for placing food that is to be cooked.

2. Description of the Related Art

Conventional cooking devices, such as a portable gas stove, normally include a housing, a pot-supporting member mounted on the housing and adapted to support a pot thereon, a burner received in the housing, and a fuel can mounted in the housing for supplying fuel to the burner. Use of the conventional cooking device is inconvenient in that food containers, such as bowls and platters, are required for placing foods that is to be cooked.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a cooking device that can overcome the aforesaid drawback associated with the prior art.

Accordingly, the cooking device of this invention comprises: a base unit including a bottom wall, and a surrounding wall extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall, cooperating with the bottom wall to confine an accommodating space, and having a top flange extending laterally therefrom; a tray unit including a bottom wall that is received in the accommodating space in the base unit and that is formed with a recess defined by a recess-defining wall, and a through-hole in the recess-defining wall, a surrounding wall extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall of the tray unit and cooperating with the bottom wall of the tray unit to confine a tray space, and a top flange extending laterally from the surrounding wall of the tray unit and seated on the top flange of the surrounding wall of the base unit; a perforated supporting ring mounted in the recess in the bottom wall of the tray unit and protruding outwardly of the accommodating space; and a burner mounted in the accommodating space, and extending through the through-hole and into the supporting ring.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Other features and advantages of the present invention will be come apparent in the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of a cooking device according to the present invention;

FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of the preferred embodiment; and

FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the preferred embodiment.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the preferred embodiment of a cooking device according to the present invention is shown to be adapted for heating a wok set 22, and includes: a base unit 3 including a bottom wall 31, and a surrounding wall 32 extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall 31, cooperating with the bottom wall 31 to confine an accommodating space, and having a top flange 33 extending laterally therefrom; a tray unit 4 including a bottom wall 41 that is received in the accommodating space in the base unit 3 and that is formed with a recess 412 defined by a recess-defining wall 415, and a through-hole 413 in the recess-defining wall 415, a surrounding wall 42 extending upwardly from a periphery of the bottom wall 41 and cooperating with the bottom wall 41 to confine a tray space 414 for placing food that is to be cooked, and a top flange 43 extending laterally from the surrounding wall 42 and seated on the top flange 33 of the surrounding wall 32 of the base unit 3; a perforated supporting ring 6 mounted in the recess 412 in the bottom wall 41 of the tray unit 4, protruding outwardly of the accommodating space in the base unit 3, and formed with a plurality of holes 61; and a burner 5 mounted in the accommodating space in the base unit 3, and extending through the through-hole 413 and into the supporting ring 6.

In this embodiment, the bottom wall 31, the surrounding wall 32 and the top flange 33 of the base unit 3 are integrally formed by punching and bending a metal plate.

The cooking device further includes a fuel can 21 mounted in the accommodating space in the base unit 3 for providing fuel to the burner 5 in a conventional manner. The base unit 3 further includes a partition wall 34 mounted in the accommodating space in the base unit 3 to define a fuel can-receiving compartment 35 for accommodating the fuel can 21 therein. The bottom wall 31 of the base unit 3 is formed with an arcuate indentation 311 for receiving fittingly the fuel can 21.

In this embodiment, the bottom wall 41, the surrounding wall 42 and the top flange 43 of the tray unit 4 are integrally formed by punching and bending a metal plate. In practice, the fuel can-receiving compartment 35 is located at one side of the accommodating space in the base unit 3, whereas the burner 5 is mounted in an opposite side of the accommodating space in the base unit 3 for safety purposes.

Moreover, in this embodiment, the bottom wall 31, the surrounding wall 32, and the partition wall 34 of the base unit 3 are formed with a plurality of vent holes 36 for introducing fresh air into the accommodating space in the base unit 3.

Since the base unit 3, the tray unit 4, the supporting ring 6 are simply stacked one above the other, assembly and disassembly of the supporting ring 6, the tray unit 4, and the base unit 3 are relatively easy. As a consequence, cleaning of the tray unit 4 is made convenient. With the inclusion of the tray unit 4 in the cooking device of this invention, the aforesaid drawback of the prior art can be eliminated.

While the present invention has been described in connection with what is considered the most practical and preferred embodiment, it is understood that this invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiment but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
