Interlocking composite roof panel (hurricane proof roof) version 2
A hurricane proof roof made of interlocking composite panels to form a super strong barrier on your house, and watertight seal. The composite with a tensile strength of 4000 PSI is with able to stand repeated punishment from flying debris at tremendous velocity and suffer only minor indentation. Because of its low profile and strength it can't be bent upward, so even the strongest winds can't get hold of it in an attempt to lift it off.
1. Field of the invention
The invention relates to residential sloped roofing.
2. Description of related art.
A plastic roof tile U.S. Pat. No. 5,295,339 to Manner is the only composite roof I could find, however no other likenesses are present. The invention shares looks of a metal roof panel from the 1800's, but again the likeness stops there.
Living in a hurricane zone created the problem of all types of roofs being destroyed or damaged. So I designed a new style of roof, and used new composite materials to combat this problem head on.
SUMMERY OF THE INVENTIONHurricane Proof Roof
A hurricane proof roof made of interlocking composite panels to form a super strong barrier on your house, and watertight seal.
By making it panel style seams are reduced to a minimum and installation is easier.
By switching to a composite such as HDPE, the tensile strength of the panel jumps from around 250 PSI to 4000 PSI, and the weight is dropped to ⅛ that of clay or cement tiles.
