My invention is an improvement on a two piece can end that will not have a pull Tab on it; on like the ones being used today on beverage cans such as beer, pop or any other product that my improvement can be applied to.

FIG. 3 is the same as FIG. 1 on page 1 with a different shape tear panel shown.

Section

    • 1. The center panel level.
    • 2. A recessed tear panel downward ⅛th of an inch or so and can be less if needed.
    • 3. A portion of the tear panel raised upward back to the level of the center panel. This would make the tear panel stiff so as to keep its shape when being pressed downward on by the thumb as seen in FIG. 5.
    • 4. A cross section C and C where the tear panel has been recessed downward from the center panel.
    • 5. The center panel level of the cross section C and C 5, 6, & 7.
    • 6. Shows a rolled smooth radius downward. This will leave a smooth rolled radius all around the portion that was recessed down from the center panel.
    • 7. The tear panel level.
    • 8. Dotted line represents a scoring area that will release the tear panel open when pressure is applied by the thumb as seen in FIG. 5. Scored area can be done either on top or the underside of the tear panel.

    • 1. The center panel.

    • 5. Shows thumb pressing downward on the raised portion of the tear panel fracturing it opened. At this point the thumb will come in contact with the rolled smooth radius as seen in section 4.

Summary

    • 1. There will no longer be a pull tab on any product that my invention can be applied to.
    • 2. It will be safer to open because of the way the tear panel was recessed downward from the center panel level.

FIG. 3 on page 2 shows a cross section C and C 5, 6, & 7. 5 is the center panel level, 6 shows how it will leave a rolled smooth radius down to the tear panel level 7.

FIG. 5 section 5 shows the thumb pressing downward on the raised portion of the tear panel at which the thumb will come in contact with the rolled smooth radius as seen in FIG. 3's cross section C and c, therefore it would be impossible for the thumb to be hurt, under the normal process of pressing downward on the raised portion of this tear panel.

    • 3. By eliminating the pull tab it will no longer be found in our parks, alongside the highways, playgrounds, camping areas or any other place that people may go, once the old ones are removed.

My invention will enhance the quality of our environment in many ways in that it will use less electricity, aluminum and any other products it takes to manufacture a pull tab.

Also by using the tear panel smaller and the circumference of the can end smaller, again a savings on electricity and material it takes to manufacture a pull tab.

Claims

1. It will eliminate the pull tab.

2. That it will be safe to open.

2. That it will be good for our environment
