The Do-IT-YOURSELF DIAMOND KIT is a novelty item, intended for the amusement of the purchaser. The tongue-in-cheek “instruction manual” is the main feature of this item. While there are no moving parts to this item, it consists solely of a boxed piece of coal and the instruction manual, the benefit to the purchaser is the fun in reading the manual, and imagining that they can turn the coal into a diamond like one of the pictured ideas presented in the manual.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This Do-it-Yourself Diamond Kit is a novelty/gag gift. This whimsical, amusing novelty will lighten the mood and generate amusement.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The Do-it-Yourself Diamond Kit consists of a piece of coal, between ½ and 1 inch square, and a booklet. The booklet speaks of the scientific way that a diamond is created in nature, an instruction manual with helpful hints on turning the coal into a diamond, and several drawings of various diamond shapes, to be used as a guide when creating a diamond. The entire booklet is done with a humorous slant, designed to amuse the purchaser of the product. This product is intended as a gag gift, not as a guaranteed method to actually create a diamond from a piece of coal. This kit will be packaged in a commercially available stiff paper jewelers box, the bottom lined with cotton where the piece of coal will rest, and the booklet inside the box, prior to sealing for sale. The first page of the booklet with be reproduced on the cover of the box, the last page on the bottom. Packing box will measure approximately 3×3×1 inch.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS ATTACHED

Attached sheets 1 thru 20 are 8½ by 11 inch renderings of the booklet to be inserted in each package. Actual booklet size will be approximately 3×3 inch, printed on both sides of paper, in booklet format. All art work is original. The final attached sheet (# 21) is a rendering of the packaging of this product.

Claims

1. This item is specifically designed to amuse the purchaser, both with the premise of turning a piece of coal into a valuable diamond, and the wording of the various sections of the enclosed booklet.
