Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to tool storage means and more particularly, to a tool holder for use in a toolbox to hold tools and/or tool accessories.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional toolbox generally has insertion holes fixedly provided inside the box body thereof for holding tools and/or tool accessories. A toolbox of this design has drawbacks as follows:

1. The insertion holes are not adjustable to fit storage items perfectly. When carrying the toolbox, the storage items may fall out of place and hit one against another, causing noises.

2. For molding a deep insertion hole inside the box body by injection molding, a long forming rod member shall be used. During working the long forming rod member may be curved or damaged accidentally.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a tool holder for toolbox, which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture. It is another object of the present invention to provide a tool holder for toolbox, which holds storage tool parts firmly in place. To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the tool holder is pivotally coupled with a cover to a toolbox by a pivot shaft and turnable with the pivot shaft in and out of the toolbox. The tool holder comprises a barrel coupled to the pivot shaft, a holder base fixedly connected to the periphery of the barrel, the holder base having a plurality of recessed portions arranged at two sides at different elevations and a plurality of through holes arranged at different elevations and extending through the recessed portions, and a plurality of elastic blocks respectively press-fitted into the recessed portions. The elastic blocks each have a through hole corresponding to the through holes of the holder base for receiving and retaining storage tool parts.

FIG. 6 is a schematic sectional view showing saw blades stored in one tool holder according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1-6, tool holders 10 are shown mounted in a toolbox 30 to hold tool parts (saw blades, tool bits, etc.) 33. The toolbox 30 has a pivot shaft 32 transversely pivotally disposed at one side thereof, and a cover 31 fastened to the pivot shaft 32 and turnable with the pivot shaft 32 to close/open the toolbox 30. The tool holders 10 each have a barrel 14 transversely disposed at one end and coupled to the pivot shaft 32 of the toolbox 30.

Each tool holder 10 further has a holder base 11 formed integral with the periphery of the barrel 14, a plurality of recessed portions 13 formed in the holder base 11 at two sides and alternatively arranged at two different elevations, and two through holes 12 arranged at different elevations and respectively extending through the recessed portions 13. Further a plurality of elastic blocks, fore example, rubber blocks 20 are respectively inserted into the recessed portions 13, each having a through hole 21 for the insertion of a tool part 33. Each tool holder 10 further has a coupling hole 15 and a coupling rod 17 arranged at two sides adjacent to the barrel 14. The diameter of the coupling rod 17 is smaller than the diameter of the coupling hole 15. After installation of the tool holders 10 in the tool box 30, the barrels 10 of the tool holders 10 are respectively coupled to the pivot shaft 32, and the coupling rod 17 of one tool holder 10 is inserted into the coupling hole 15 of another tool holder 10. Further, the barrel 14 of the first (or last) holder base 11 is locked to the pivot shaft 32.

When opening the cover 31, the first tool holder 10 is turned with the pivot shaft 32 to the outside of the toolbox 30. When the first tool holder 10 is being turned out of the toolbox 30, the coupling rod 17 of the first tool holder 10 will soon carry the second tool holder 10 toward the outside of the toolbox 30, and the coupling rod 17 of the second tool holder 10 will soon carry the third tool holder 10 toward the outside of the toolbox 30, and finally, all the tool holders 10 will be turned out of the toolbox 30 (see FIG. 3). On the contrary, when closing the cover 31, the tool holders 10 will be turned with the pivot shaft 32 one after another to the inside of the tool box 30 (see FIG. 4).

As indicated above, the invention has the following benefits:

1. The holder base 11 of each tool holder 10 has recessed portions 13 at two sides that diminish material consumption, thereby reducing the weight and manufacturing cost of the tool holder 10.

2. Elastic (rubber) blocks 20 are press-fitted into the recessed portions 13 of the holder base 11, keeping the respective through holes 21 in line with the through holes 12 for receiving storage tool parts 33 and holding storage tool parts 33 firmly in place.

Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
