Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a garbage can, especially to a convenient garbage can.

2. Description of the Related Art

Referring to FIG. 4, a perspective view of a conventional garbage can is shown. Conventionally, there are two types of garbage cans, one is open type and the other is closed type. As to a closed type garbage can, referring to FIG. 4, a second connecting part 108 is provided at the back side of the outer can body 103 of a conventional garbage can 101, and a first connecting part 107 is provided at the back side of the cover 105 of the conventional garbage can 101. A holding handle 1081 pivotably connects the first connecting part 107 and the second connecting part 108 and is used as the rotating axis of the cover 105 for convenient lifting and holding by a user. Because the holding handle 1081 pivotably connects the first connecting part 107 and the second connecting part 108, after the conventional garbage can 101 is lifted and held many times by the user via the holding handle 1081, a relative shift will be easily created between the first connecting part 107 and the second connecting part 108 and a damage will therefore be made to the first connecting part 107 and the second connecting part 108, even the cover 105 can not be opened by stepping on the treadle 106. Moreover, the treadle 106 of the conventional garbage can 101 is horizontally disposed and an angle of 90 degrees or more (as indicated by the arrow β shown in this figure) is contained between the treadle 106 and the outer can body 103 of the conventional garbage can 101, such that the user needs to apply much more force by stepping on the treadle 106 in order to open the cover 105 by a link mechanism for throwing the garbage into the conventional garbage can 101. This design for the treadle 106 requires much more force to open the cover 105. As such, it is not a good design.

Furthermore, as to the garbage bag put within the conventional garbage can 101, an user usually needs to take a single garbage bag from a bundle of garbage bags and then put it in the inner can body of the conventional garbage can 101. However, due to the air pressure in the inner can body, the garbage bag will not snugly fit the inner peripheral wall of the inner can body, and the user needs to put this bag into the inner can body while squeezing the air out of the inner can body, such that the garbage bag can effectively snugly fit the inner peripheral wall of the internal can body. Thus, improvements still need to be made to the conventional garbage can 101.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

One objective of the present invention is to provide a garbage can having a second holding handle which pivotably connects the second connecting part of a pivotable connecting element of the garbage can such that a user can conveniently lift and hold the garbage can and the second holding handle is prevented from being coaxial with a pivot of the pivotable connecting element.

Still another objective of the present invention is to provide a garbage can with a treadle connected to a lower end of the front side of the outer can body and an angle contained between the treadle and the outer can body is less than 90 degrees such that the user can apply less force by stepping on the treadle in order to open the cover via a link mechanism for throwing garbage into the garbage bag.

In one preferred embodiment of the present invention, a garbage can comprises a can base, an outer can body having an upper opening and combined with the can base, an inner can body received in the outer can body, a cover provided above the outer can body and covering the upper opening of the outer can body, a treadle connected to the outer can body, a pivotable connecting element including a first connecting part connected to the cover, a second connecting part connected to the outer can body and a pivot connecting the first connecting part and the second connecting part, and a link mechanism having one end connected to the treadle and the other end connected the first connecting part of the pivotable connecting element.

Preferably, the garbage can further comprises a first holding handle pivotably connecting the inner can body.

Preferably, the garbage can further comprises a second holding handle pivotably connecting the second connecting part of the pivotable connecting element.

Preferably, the link mechanism comprises a pulling rod and a pushing rod.

Preferably, a curved portion and an L-shaped portion are formed on one end of the pushing rod of the engaging mechanism.

Preferably, a plurality of holes are formed on the inner can body.

Preferably, a hook portion through which the pulling rod passes is provided on the can base.

Preferably, a hole through which the curved portion of the pushing rod passes is formed on the outer can body.

Therefore, it is to be understood that the following description is a general disclosure to those skilled in the art and is not restrictive of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a perspective view and an exploded view of a garbage can of the present invention are respectively shown. In this preferred embodiment, a garbage can 1 of the present invention comprises a can base 2, an outer can body 3 having an upper opening 31 and combined with the can base 2 and with a hole 32 formed on an upper end of the back side of the outer can body 3, an inner can body 4 received in the outer can body 3 and placed on the can base 2 and a plurality of holes 42 formed on predetermined locations of the inner can body 4, a first holding handle 41, with two ends thereof respectively pivotably connected to two opposite sides of the inner can body 4, a cover 5 provided above the outer can body 3 and covering the upper opening 31 of the outer can body 3, a treadle 6 fastened to a lower end of the front side of the outer can body 3; a pivotable connecting element including a first connecting part 7 connected to the cover 5, a second connecting part 8 connected to the outer can body 3 and a pivot 9 connecting the first connecting part 7 and the second connecting part 8, a second holding handle 81 pivotably connected to the second connecting part 8 of the pivotable connecting element, and a link mechanism comprising a pulling rod 10 and a pushing rod 11, wherein the pulling rod 10 passes the hook portion 21, which is a constituting element of a conventional closed type garbage can and the description of the function and purpose is not duplicated herein, of the can base 2, one end of the pulling rod 10 is connected to the lower portion of the treadle 6 and the other end of the pulling rod 10 is connected to one end of the pushing rod 11, a curved portion 111 and an L-shaped portion 1 12 are formed on the other end of the pushing rod 11 and the curved portion 111 passes through the hole 32 of the outer can body 3 and the L-shaped portion 112 connects the first connecting part 7 of the pivotable connecting element.

When an user steps on the treadle 6, the pulling rod 10 underneath the treadle 6 is downwardly pressed so that the pushing rod 11 is forced to move upward. When the L-shaped portion 112 of the pushing rod 11 upwardly pushes the first connecting part 7, the cover 5 is opened through the first connecting part 7. When the user releases the treadle 6, the pulling rod 10 and the pushing rod 11 return to original positions, such that the cover 5 also returns to the original position and covers the upper opening 31 of the outer can body 3. Moreover, an user can conveniently lift and hold the garbage can 1 by the second holding handle 81 of the second connecting part 8.

When an user would like to put a garbage bag in the inner can body 4, the air within the inner can body 4 can be exhausted out through the plurality of holes 42 formed on the peripheral wall of the inner can body 4, such that the garbage bag can effectively snugly fit the inner peripheral wall of the inner can body 4. In the other hand, when the user would like to take a garbage bag with garbage out of the inner can body 4, the external air can be fed into the inner can body 4 through the plurality of holes 42, a negative pressure will not be generated between the inner can body 4 and the garbage bag such that the garbage bag can be easily taken out by the user.

Please refer to FIG. 3 which is a cross-sectional view along line A-A of FIG. 1 accompanying with FIG. 1, an angle θ contained between the treadle 6 connected to the lower end of the front side of the outer can body 3 and the outer can body 3 is less than 90 degrees. As such, the user can apply less force by stepping on the treadle 6 in order to open the cover 5 by pressing down the pulling rod 10 underneath the treadle 6 for throwing the garbage into the garbage bag.

If waste material which may make a garbage bag broken, such as heavy material or liquid, is in the garbage bag, the user can lift and carry the inner can body 4 by the first holding handle 41 to a garbage collecting place and then pack and drop the garbage bag with waste material such as heavy material or liquid.
