Laundry utility sink pump system
The nature of our invention is the permanent attachment of a tank which contains a pump with a discharge pipe and a floating lever switch to the bottom of a utility sink to provide for the elimination of restriction of the placement of the utility sink above the discharge waste water system which always requires gravity for the flow of the liquid in the sink. The invention allows for locating the utility sink with a washer and dryer at any level in a building eliminating the restriction of always maintaining the use of gravity for discharge of sink liquids.
The field of endeavor to which this patent pertains is the use of a utility sink and the flow of the water and materials therein to a drain that is above the level of the bottom of the sink. Where a location of a utility sink has been placed must be such that the flow of the residue in the sink will flow by gravity to a waste water system.
To use a laundry utility sink with a washer and or dryer must be in a location that the water or other liquid materials would flow by gravity to the waste water system. This created a problem of not being able to place a utility sink next to a washer unless the location was such as to permit the drainage of the sink by gravity to the waste water system. This invention will correct this limitation on placing the washer or dryer and the utility sink.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe substance and general idea of the invention is to locate a tank including a pump under the drain hole of the utility sink to carry the water to a level above the utility sink to a waste water disposal system. This solves previous problems of not being able to place a utility sink unless it was above the waster water disposal system.
The object of the invention is to correct the limitation of only placing a washer with a laundry utility sink above the waste water disposal system. By placing a tank with a pump capable of pumping the maximum quantity of waste water in the laundry utility sink provides the ability to place the utility sink in an area that is below the water disposal system.
The size of the laundry utility sink can be of any size. The tank with the pump that will be placed directly under the drain of the utility sink will be proportionately in size to the utility sink and the pump will have the capability of pumping the total waste water of the sink that flows into the tank.
The pump will have a float lever which will be activated as soon as waste water flows from the drain of the sink into the tank. The float lever of the pump will move up to the level of the waste water in the tank, thereby actuating the pump to pump the waste water system to which the pump is connected. Upon the completion of the pumping of all the waste water in the tank, the float lever will decline thereby, shutting off the pump.
It should be noted that the pump is connected electrically to a standard electrical plug of the current of 120 volts and the float lever is connected to an electrical switch in the pump. The size of the pump shall be proportionate to the volume of waste water that would flow from the utility sink to the tank beneath the drain of the utility sink.
The flow of the waste water from the tank by the activation of the pump will flow to the connection to the waste water system at a juncture above the drain of the utility sink.

This invention, Laundry Utility Sink Pump System contains a sink, tank floating lever switch, a pump and ability to be connected to a water source, waste disposal system and electrical outlets.
The sink can be any size, square, oblong or round and made of many materials such as plastic, stainless steel, enamel coated steel or other coated steel but must have connections to water outlets with a nozzle for filling the sink as well as a drain which leads to a tank which is positioned directly under the drain and securely attached to the sink. The drain must contain a method to stop the flow to the tank. The sink can be of any make but must have the tank securely attached to the sink.
The tank can be of any size that fits directly under the sink and can be made of any material that can hold the volume of liquid that drains from the sink. It shall have inside, and an integral part of it, a pump which is actuated by a floating lever switch. The pump is under electrical power from an electrical outlet in the building in which the Laundry Utility Sink Pump System is located. The pump capacity shall be commensurate with the size of the tank volume of liquid to be pumped.
The Laundry Utility Pump System must be located any place that the water connections hot and cold can be made, electrical power available by outlet, and where connections can be made for waste water disposal.
Claims
1. What we claim as our invention is a tank permanently connected to the utility sink directly below the drain which has an internal pump with an electrical plug and a floating lever switch enabling the liquid in the sink to be pumped out through the pipe to the waste water system at a level above the utility sink which does not restrict the location of the utility sink with regard to the location of the waste water disposal system.
