MOSQUITO NET FOR USE WITH A HAMMOCK

A mosquito net system designed to be used with a hammock is provided. The mosquito net system can be shaped to form a horizontal triangular prism with a rectangular bottom side overlapping with the hammock. The perimeter of the bottom rectangular side has several ropes that can be used to tie the mosquito net to the ropes forming the hammock. The two triangular vertices that are not attached to the hammock are attached to elastic bands. The elastic bands have hooks that can be used to hook onto the ropes at the two ends of the hammock. A zipper can be provided on the mosquito net system to enable a user to conveniently enter and exit the mosquito net. As such, a mosquito net that can be attached to and detached from a conventional hammock is provided.

Description
CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present application claims priority to Taiwanese Patent Application No. 095215216, filed on Aug. 25, 2006, and is incorporated by reference herein, in its entirety.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention generally relates to a mosquito net attachable to a hammock that can swing back and forth, and up and down. A mosquito net of the present invention is easy to attach to and detach from the hammock. The present invention solves the problem in the prior art where a mosquito net cannot swing with the hammock.

BACKGROUND

Some conventional mosquito nets cannot be used with a hammock because the setup of these mosquito nets is incompatible with the swinging motion of the hammock. Other conventional mosquito nets may be used with a hammock, but are permanently attached to and cannot be detached from the hammock. Conventional mosquito nets are further inconvenient for use with a hammock as they provide little interior space.

SUMMARY

The present invention provides a mosquito net system designed to be used with a hammock. The mosquito net system has attachment means that can allow the mosquito net system to be easily attached to and detached from the hammock. The mosquito net system is in the shape of a triangular prism with the triangular sides aligned horizontally (hereinafter referred to as “horizontal triangular prism”). Elastic bands with hooks are fixed to the top vertices of the mosquito net. Several ropes are provided along the perimeter of a rectangular bottom sheet of the mosquito net. Using the elastic bands and ropes, the mosquito net can be easily attached to the hammock and swing reliably with the hammock without detaching from the hammock. In addition, a zipper is provided at a side of the mosquito net to enable a user to get in and out of the mosquito net easily.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

The foregoing and other objects, aspects, features, and advantages of the invention will become more apparent and may be better understood by referring to the following description taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a mosquito net;

FIG. 2 illustrates an exemplary front view of a mosquito net;

FIG. 3 illustrates an exemplary side view of a mosquito net;

FIG. 4 illustrates an exemplary bottom view of a mosquito net;

FIG. 5 illustrates an exemplary assembly of a mosquito net onto a hammock; and

FIG. 6 illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a mosquito net attached to a hammock.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention provides a mosquito net system that can be shaped to form a horizontal triangular prism with a rectangular bottom side overlapping with the hammock. The length, width, and height of the prism can be chosen to suit a hammock sold in a market.

Referring to FIG. 1 to 4, the present invention provides a mosquito net system 100 with attachment means that allows the mosquito net system 100 to be attached to and detached from a hammock. In one embodiment, the mosquito net system 100 includes a horizontal triangular prism shaped net 20 and a bottom rectangular sheet 30. The horizontal triangular prism shaped net 20 includes a front rectangular sheet 20A, a back rectangular sheet 20B, and two triangular sides 20C and 20D. In one embodiment, to attach the mosquito net system 100 to a hammock, the perimeter (i.e. vertices and sides) of the bottom rectangular sheet 30 has several ropes 40 that can be used to tie the mosquito net system 100 to the ropes forming the hammock. The two vertices 12 and 14 of the triangular sides that are not attached to the hammock are attached to elastic bands 10 with hooks 70. In one embodiment, a zipper 50 can be provided at the front rectangular sheet 20A or back rectangular sheet 20B of the mosquito net system 100 to enable a user get in and out of the mosquito net system easily. In one embodiment, the zipper 50 can be about 150 centimeter long.

Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, an exemplary assembly of the mosquito net system 100 to a hammock 60 is shown. In one embodiment, ropes 40 at the perimeter of the bottom rectangular sheet 30 are used to tie the mosquito net system 100 to the ropes of the hammock 60. The ropes 40 can be used to position the mosquito net system 100 over the hammock 60. Hence, the mosquito net system can be easily detached from the hammock 60 if desired. In one embodiment, the two vertices 12 and 14 of the triangular sides are attached to elastic bands 10 with hooks 70 that can be used to hook onto the ropes at the two ends of the hammock 60. As such, the mosquito net system 100 can be attached to the hammock 60 reliably and swing with the hammock 60 without falling down from the hammock 60.

While the invention has been described by way of example and in terms of the preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the disclosed embodiments. On the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements as would be apparent to those skilled in the art. Therefore, the scope of the appended claims should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar arrangements.
