BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1) Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a corrugate box and system for making a three dimensional container box from a corrugated blank. Which is self contain unit that does not need additional tape to assemble or knife to open.

2) Description of the Related Art

Corrugate box are widely used and available. But when trying to package a box, you always need tape and scissor which cost more than a box. Once assembled and taped you also need knife or cutting device to open the box. Which has potential for damaging the items inside the box. Several efforts have been made to provide a self contained container which is simple to assemble and does not require the use of additional tools.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,998,180 issued to Dehoney, Jr. discloses a self-sealing container wherein the exterior surface of one side closure flap at each end of the container is completely coated with an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive covered with an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive covered with a release liner. The container is assembled at each end by folding the end flaps, folding the adhesive-coated side flap, removing the release liner, and folding the other side flap into adhesive engagement with the adhesive-coated side flap. while generally effective as a self-closing container, the container requires the use of substantial quantities of pressure sensitive adhesive, disposal of a sizable amount of release liner, and does not work with regular slotted containers because of the need for fully overlapping side flaps.

U.S. Pat. No. 3,276,664, issued to Johnson, and U.S. Pat. No. 2,896,836, issued to Bergstein, disclose self-sealing containers wherein the overlapping surfaces of closure flaps are image, (pattern) coated with and aggressive cohesive adhesive (bonds only to itself). The container is assembled at each end by first folding the end flaps and then folding the side flaps into adhesive engagement with the end flaps (Johnson) or each other (Bergstein). Those areas where the adhesive overlaps causes the flaps to bond together and thereby close the container. While generally effective as self-closing containers, the containers require that the adhesive be imaged onto the container within close tolerance levels to avoid premature bonding of the flaps and is subject to premature bonding of the individual flaps of a single container and the flaps of multiple containers due to shifting of the collapsed containers during shipping and handling. In addition, the fully assembled container is not sealed along the seam where the flaps come together and is subject to the introduction of contaminants into the container.

U.S. Pat. No. 3,345,920 issued to Jordan discloses a self-sealing container wherein paired adhesive coated strips are attached to the underside of each of the innermost flaps. The strips extend upward through a slot in the innermost flaps positioned at the juncture of the outermost flaps for adhesively bonding to the exterior surface of each of the outermost flaps. While generally effective as self-closing container, the positioning of the adhesive strips produces a weakly bonded container.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,465,900 issued to Eugene L. Baratto, John R. David, Curtis L. Larson, Thomas L. Nelson, Norbert E. Wrobel, disclose a self-contained container assembly use tape structure includes a release surface extending longitudinally along a first of the closure flaps from proximate the panel to which the closure flap is connected to proximate the distal end of the closure flap, and a length of closure adhesive tape extending over substantially the entire length of the first closure flap in overlapping relationship to the release surface and a distance across the panel to which the first closure flap is connected sufficient for the tape to remain attached to the container blank upon removal of that length of the tape extending across the first closure flap. While this is effective as self-closing container, the positioning of the adhesive tape caused the container to requires twice much of tape need to package a container.

And all the art mention above does not have easy opening system.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

We have discovered a self-contained container assembly with easy opening concept which may be quickly packaged without additional components or tools. Also no tools needed to open the container.

The container assembly includes a corrugate blank and a tape structure and memo pad/tap. The corrugate blank with plurality of laterally interconnected panels, and a closure flap hingedly connected to the top and bottom edge of the panels. The flaps are set of two inner flaps and two outer flaps which are on top-and bottom of the panels. The outer flaps have two side, one inner side and outer side where the closure tape are placed. The tape structure is partially attached to the one of upper and lower outer flaps outer edge with peel-able backing for space which are not attached, a peel-able backing to be peel off for complete closure of the container. The tape structures are positioned so closure of outer flaps automatically align rest of tape space right on the other outer flap's proximal outer edge and to the side panel and to part of the memo pad/tab.

Once sealed, pulling up memo pad/tab will pull closure tape from side of panel and pull closure tape from outer flaps.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a partially assembled perspective view of the pre taped corrugated container with memo pad/tab.

FIG. 1a is a completely assembled perspective view of the pre tape corrugate container with one memo pad/tab.

FIG. 1b is a completely assembled perspective view of the pre tape corrugate container with two memo pad/tab.

FIG. 2 is a plan view of one embodiment of pre taped corrugate blank with memo pad/tab.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 is the corrugate box 10 has two inner flaps (IFT-1, IFT-2) and two outer flaps (OCT-1,OCT-2) on upper section of the corrugate box 10. Also lower section of the corrugate box 10 has two inner flaps (IFB-1, IFB-2 see FIG. 2) and two outer flaps (OCB-1,OCB-2). Inner flaps (IFT-1, IFT-2, IFB-1,IFB-2) folds in before outer flaps (OCT-1,OCT-2,OCB-1,OCB-2) to close the corrugate box 10.

The corrugate box 10 panel 18 has memo pad/tab 36 attached, at distance away from top and bottom folding edges of panel 18 and to be tape partially over the memo pad/tab 36 by closure tape 31. Closure tape 31 are partially attached to the outer edge of outer flaps (OCT-2,OCB-2) and has a peel-able backing 31b, area where closure tape 31 is not attached.

The closure tape 31 has peel-able backing 31b which is peel-off in order, adhesive substance 31g to seal the other outer flap's (OCT-1,OCB-1) near outer edge to the side panel 18 and over the part of memo pad/tab 36. Memo pad/tab 36 is placed there to readily gripped for peeling of the closure adhesive tape 31 from the corrugate box 10.

FIG. 1a shows sealed corrugate box 10 that closure adhesive tape 31 covering two outer flaps (OCT-1,OCT-2) outer edge and taped to side panel 18 in order to securely hold two outer flaps (OCT-1,OCT-2) and over the memo pad/tab 36, for easy opening of the closure adhesive tape 31 by pulling it and tear the memo pad/tab 36 apart into two by cut line 36c, one for top closure tape 31 and one for bottom closure tape 31.

FIG. 1b shows sealed corrugate box 10 that uses two memo pad/tab 36 for easy opening of the closure adhesive tape 31.

FIG. 1c is showing back side of memo pad/tab 36 which has release-able adhesive 36ra in cross, square, and o pattern to have memo pad/tab 36 on side panel of corrugate box 10 to prevent curl-up effects of memo pad/tab 36. Also folding corner 36f at four corner of memo pad/tab 36 for easier lifting of memo pad/tab 36.

FIG. 2 is showing plurality of panels (12,18,13,14) with top flaps (OCT-1,OCT-2,IFT-1,IFT-2) and bottom flaps (OCB-1,OCB-2,IFB-1,IFB-2). Hingedly connected with panels (12,18,13,14) and attaching flap 19 which has peel-able backing 19b with adhesive 19a to be mounted on open side of panel 14 to become corrugate box 10. Closure tape 31 are partially taped at near outer edge of outer flaps (OCT-2, OCB-2) with peel-able backing 31b for later use of complete closure. At least one memo pad/tab 36 is placed on panel 18 or panel 14 to be taped part of memo pad/tab 36 on top and bottom, it is best shown in FIG. 1a.
