Styro roofing system

Styro Roofing System is an all in one roofing and partitioning system that eliminates the use of plywood sheeting, insulation, tarpaper, flashing, shingles, guttering and partitioning like sheet rock. The system is profitable in that it is lighter, reduces the manpower to install, cost less and above all last a lifetime. Styro Roofing System is prepared using plastic and foam. There is a grid and rigid plastic sheeting which is one mold, foam, mesh and a clay base cement finish. There are three types of panels, the gutter panel, the sheeting panel and the partition panel. The grid acts as conventional plywood sheeting and is drilled directly to the roof rafters.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a roofing system that goes directly on rafters and more particularly, to a system that can be used for interior partitioning.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional roofing system which uses plywood, felt, tarpaper, drip caps face many problems relating to flashing, weathering, wind damage, improper design and the lack of maintenance. Often, the rooftop is used as a platform for all types of mechanical equipment, ladder struts, antennas, flagpoles, signs and bracing.

Additionally the interior partitioning which is generally sheetrock does not have a finish surface and does not offer temperature control and sound proofing.

It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a roofing system that is applied directly to roof rafters

It is another object of the invention to reduce the cost of a conventional roof.

It is another object of the invention to eliminate the use of plywood sheeting in conventional roofing.

It is another object of the invention to eliminate the use of tarpaper now used in conventional roofing.

It is another object of the invention to eliminate the use of shingles now used in conventional roofing

It is another object of the invention to provide an all in one guttering in conventional roofing.

It is another object of the invention to provide a finish, texture matching and more decorative fascia (facia) board. It is another object of the invention to provide a finish, texture matching and more decorative eaves (boxing).

It is another object of the invention to provide a more cost effective and decorative partitioning for buildings.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a roofing system with three sets of panels, a gutter panel, a sheeting panel and partitioning panel. The panels consist of a clay base finish, plastic mesh, Styrofoam with interlocking male and female joints, a rigid sheeting and a plastic grid. The rigid sheeting and plastic grid replaces the use of plywood on conventional roofing thus providing the main strength and support for weight. The rigid sheeting and plastic grid is all one mold. The plastic grid, which is 1 inch thick, is positioned 1 foot apart (12″×12″) horizontally and vertically. This is so when applying to roof rafter screws will go through the plastic grid. The rigid sheeting which is ⅛ of an inch thick, is positioned 1 inch apart (4″×4″) horizontally and vertically. This provides solidity, firmness and flexibility should cutting of any part of the panel becomes necessary. The panels can be to any size, shape or color.

In accordance with the present invention and as a result of its cement finish surface, foam which has temperature, acoustic and durable significance, and mold comprising of the rigid sheeting and plastic grid thus providing strength, the product can be applied directly to studs for partitioning.

Styro Roofing System is both a form of roofing and partitioning that eliminates the use of plywood sheeting, insulation, tarpaper, flashing, shingles, guttering and partitioning like sheet rock. The system is profitable in that it is lighter, reduces the manpower to install, cost less and above all last a lifetime.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIG. 1 is a layering view of decking panel, showing the clay base cement finish 10, plastic mesh 12, styro-foam 14 without the interlocking joint, the rigid sheeting 16, 1″ plastic grid 18 and the roof rafters 20.

Thus, in summary, Styro Roofing System is an all in one roofing and partitioning system that eliminates the use of plywood sheeting, insulation, tarpaper, flashing, shingles, guttering and partitioning like sheet rock. The system is profitable in that it is lighter, reduces the manpower to install, cost less and above all last a lifetime.

Starting with the gutter panel which acts as a gutter. This is drilled into the rafters 20 to the ends of the roof where one would like to have a gutter. After completing the gutter panels the sheeting panels are then use by fitting with their sockets and slots tightly together and drilled directly into the rafters 20 until the entire roof is covered.

The panels are joined together using sockets and slots joints. A sealant is set to prevent leakage. Then a thin layer of clay base cement finish 10 is applied where the panels join together. This is allowed to setup until becomes firm. A nylon knitted tape is then placed on the clay base cement finish 10 to prevent cracks and further avoid leaks. Finally a second application of clay base finish is applied.

Since Styro Roofing System is made of medium density foam 14 it acts as an insulator thus eliminating the need for further insulation. Additionally and to provide more decorative characteristic the facia board 28 and eaves 30 (boxing) are made from the styro roofing system.

Since other modifications and changes varied to fit particular operating requirements and environments will be apparent to those skilled in the art, the invention is not considered limited to the example chosen for purposes of disclosure, and covers all changes and modifications which do not constitute departures from the true spirit and scope of this invention.

Having thus described the invention, what is desired to be protected by Letters Patent is presented in the subsequently appended claims.

Claims

1. A styro roofing system for use in the construction of roofs and partitioning, comprising: means for creating a finish using clay to reflect heat;

means for binding clay to foam using an adhesive, rigidly glued to said means for creating a finish using clay to reflect heat;
means for further reflecting heat and cold providing a cooler attic in the summer and warmer in the winter, rigidly connected to said means for binding clay to foam using an adhesive;
means for providing strength between rafters and stability when cutting styro roofing system, rigidly fused to said means for further reflecting heat and cold providing a cooler attic in the summer and warmer in the winter;
means for support screws to go through into rafters, rigidly molded to said means for providing strength between rafters and stability when cutting styro roofing system;
means for <purpose>; and
means for <purpose>, structurally connected to said means for <purpose>.

2. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for creating a finish using clay to reflect heat comprises a clay base cement finish.

3. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for binding clay to foam using an adhesive comprises a plastic mesh.

4. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for further reflecting heat and cold providing a cooler attic in the summer and warmer in the winter comprises a foam.

5. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for providing strength between rafters and stability when cutting styro roofing system comprises a rigid sheeting.

6. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for support screws to go through into rafters comprises a 1″ plastic grid.

7. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for <purpose>comprises a facia board.

8. The styro roofing system in accordance with claim 1, wherein said means for <purpose> comprises an eaves.

9. A styro roofing system for use in the construction of roofs and partitioning, comprising: a clay base cement finish, for creating a finish using clay to reflect heat;

a plastic mesh, for binding clay to foam using an adhesive, rigidly glued to said clay base cement finish;
a foam, for further reflecting heat and cold providing a cooler attic in the summer and warmer in the winter, rigidly connected to said plastic mesh;
a rigid sheeting, for providing strength between rafters and stability when cutting styro roofing system, rigidly fused to said foam;
a 1″ plastic grid, for support screws to go through into rafters, rigidly molded to said rigid sheeting;
a facia board, for <purpose>; and
an eaves, for <purpose>, structurally connected to said facia board.

10. A styro roofing system for use in the construction of roofs and partitioning, comprising: a clay base cement finish, for creating a finish using clay to reflect heat;

a plastic mesh, for binding clay to foam using an adhesive, rigidly glued to said clay base cement finish;
a foam, for further reflecting heat and cold providing a cooler attic in the summer and warmer in the winter, rigidly connected to said plastic mesh;
a rigid sheeting, for providing strength between rafters and stability when cutting styro roofing system, rigidly fused to said foam;
a 1″ plastic grid, for support screws to go through into rafters, rigidly molded to said rigid sheeting;
a facia board, for <purpose>; and
an eaves, for <purpose>, structurally connected to said facia board.
