Abstract

A brush having a brush head of changeable angles includes a handle which has a first connection end on one end with an inclined first end surface and a gripping end on other end, and a brush head which has a second connection end and a bristle end on other end. The second connection end has an inclined second end surface mating the first end surface. The brush head and the handle can be coupled together and swiveled about the axis of the coupling portion. Thus the handle and the brush head can be coupled on a straight line or to form an angle between them. When in use the bending brush head and the handle can be remote from grilling flame to dispense sauce on grilling goods without scorching user's hands.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a brush and particularly to a brush used for grilling foods that has a handle and a brush head that can be coupled and swiveled to form an angle between them such that the bending brush head and elongate handle can be positioned remote from grilling flame to dispense sauce on grilling foods to protect user's hands from scorching heat.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Grilling or roasting foods usually has to dispense sauce on the surface of the foods through a brush a number of times so that the sauce can seep into the foods under the heat to make the foods more tasty.

The conventional brush for such a purpose usually has an elongate handle and a brush head fastened to one end of the handle with a wisp of bristles coupling thereon. Aside from grilling, the brush also is widely used for baking breads, cakes and the like. While the brush can be used to dispense sauce before grilling, it also can be used to clear other sundry goods. When in use, the brush may be moved close to the goods being treated or above the goods almost vertically. Such an operation exposes user's hands to the burning flame during grilling and the hands could be hurt by scorching. To remedy this risk, the brush for grilling usually has a longer handle than other types of brushes. As a result, storage space has to be larger. As the brush end and the handle are located on the same straight line, accurate maneuvering of the brush is more difficult and trying.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Therefore the primary object of the present invention is to provide a brush having a brush head of changeable angles so that dispensing of sauce on grilling goods can be done remote from the grilling flame without scorching user's hands.

To achieve the foregoing object, the brush according to the invention includes a handle and a brush head. The handle has a first connection end on one end and a gripping end on other end. The first connection end has an inclined first end surface. The brush head has a second connection end on one end and a bristle end on other end. The second connection end has an inclined second end surface formed at an inclined angle mating the first end surface. The brush head and the handle can be coupled together and swiveled relative to each other about the axis of the coupling portion.

By means of the aforesaid construction, the handle and the brush head that are originally aligned on a straight line can be changed to a coupling condition with an inclined angle formed between them. In the inclined coupling condition the brush and handle are bent and allow user's hand to be remote from the grilling flame to dispense sauce on grilling goods without suffering from the scorching heat. For storing of the brush, the handle and brush head can be swiveled back to the straight line to reduce storage space.

In short, compared with the conventional brush that has the handle and the brush head aligned on a straight line, the brush having a brush head of changeable angles according to the invention provides more ergonomic operation and can protect user's hands from being hurt by scorching.

The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Refer to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 for a first embodiment of the brush having a brush head of changeable angles of the invention. It includes a handle 1 and a brush head 2. The handle 1 has a first connection end 11 on one end and a gripping end 12 on other end. The first connection end 11 has an inclined first end surface 13 with a first latch member 14 located thereon. The brush head 2 has a second connection end 21 on one end and a bristle end 22 on other end. The second connection end 21 has a second inclined end surface 23 mating the first connection end surface 13. On the second end surface 23 there is a second latch member 24 engegable with the first latch member 14.

In the first embodiment set forth above, the first latch member 14 is protrusive while the second latch member 24 is indented to mate the first latch member 14. The protrusive and indented relationship of the two may be reversed and formed on the first connection end 11 and the second connection end 21. It can be easily understood to those skilled in the art. The shapes of the first and second latch members 14 and 24 shown in the drawings serve only illustrative purpose, and are not the limitation of the invention. Any latch members or coupling means that allow the handle 1 and brush head 2 to be coupled or separated quickly can serve as the latch members of the invention.

As previously discussed, the protrusive first latch member 14 of the handle 1 can be coupled with the indented second latch member 24 of the brush head 2 to couple the handle 1 and the brush head 2 together. The handle 1 and the brush head 2 can be swiveled about the axis of the coupling portion. As the first and second connection ends 11 and 21 are coupled together and in contact on the inclined surfaces, during swiveling the handle 1 can be rotated clockwise about the brush head 2 for 180 degrees with one spot A on a upper end of the second connection end 21 as shown in FIG. 2 moving to a lower end as shown in FIG. 3. Therefore the brush head 2 and the handle 1 form an included angle and bend downwards. On the other hand, swivel continuously the brush head 2 for another 180 degrees, the spot A will be moved from the lower end as shown in FIG. 3 to the upper end again as shown in FIG. 2 to allow the handle 1 and the brush head 2 to be coupled on a straight line again.

When the handle 1 and the brush head 2 are coupled on the straight line as shown in FIG. 1, the brush can be used for general purpose as the conventional brush does, such as pre-drilling operation or storing without taking too much space, or being laid on a flat surface 30 without smearing the bristle end 22 as shown in FIG. 5. When the handle 1 and the brush head 2 are coupled at an angle as shown in FIG. 4, the brush is desirable for use for grilling. The bending brush head 2 and handle 1 can keep user's hand 33 remote from grilling flame 31 so that the hand 33 does not suffer from the scorching heat while dispensing sauce on grilling goods 32.

Refer to FIG. 7 for a second embodiment of the invention. Compared with the first embodiment, in this embodiment the handle 1 consists of a handle portion 4 and an intermediate portion 5. The handle portion 4 has a coupling end 41 on one end opposing the gripping end (not shown in the drawing). The coupling end 41 has a coupling boss 42. The intermediate portion 5 has an indented coupling member 52 corresponding to and engageable the coupling boss 42. The intermediate portion 5 has a third connection end 53 opposing the coupling end 41 that has an inclined third end surface 54 formed thereon. The third end surface 54 has a third latch member 55 which is protrusive.

The handle portion 4 of the second embodiment can be coupled with the brush head 2 of the first embodiment, with the indented second latch member 24 of the second connection end 21 coupling with the third latch member 55 of the intermediate portion 5. Thus the handle portion 4 and the brush head 2 are bridged by the intermediate portion 5.

While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A brush having a brush head of changeable angles, comprising:

a handle which has a first connection end on one end and a gripping end on other end, the first connection end having an inclined first end surface and a first latch member located on the first end surface; and

a brush head which has a second connection end on one end and a bristle end on other end, the second connection end having an inclined second end surface mating the first end surface that has a second latch member located thereon engageable with the first latch member to couple the brush head and the handle together.

2. The brush having a brush head of changeable angles of claim 1, wherein the first latch member is protrusive and the second latch member is indented.

3. The brush having a brush head of changeable angles of claim 2, wherein the first latch member and the second latch member are coupled to make the handle and the brush head to be coupled on a straight line.

4. The brush having a brush head of changeable angles of claim 2, wherein the first latch member and the second latch member are coupled to make the handle and the brush head to be coupled at a desired angle.

5. A brush having a brush head of changeable angles, comprising:

a handle portion which has a coupling end on one end and a gripping end on other end;

an intermediate portion which has one end coupled with the coupling end of the handle portion and a third connection end on other end that has an inclined third end surface and a third latch member located on the third end surface; and

a brush head which has a second connection end on one end and a bristle end on other end, the second connection end having an inclined second end surface mating the third end surface that has a second latch member located thereon engageable with the third latch member to couple with the intermediate portion and the handle portion.

6. The brush having a brush head of changeable angles of claim 5, wherein the coupling end of the handle portion is protrusive, the one end of the intermediate portion coupled with the coupling end being an indented latch member engageable with the coupling end.
