CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims priority to provisional patent application having Ser. No. 60/886,314, filed Jan. 24, 2007, which is herein incorporated in its entirety.

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to an inside corner support for use in the construction of buildings. The inside corner support aids construction workers in forming smooth and uniform inside corners in the interior walls of a building or home.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Many corner supports have been designed for use in forming the outside corners of buildings and homes. The present invention is directed to a corner support which aids in forming uniform and aesthetically pleasing inside corners for the interior rooms of a variety of buildings including, but not limited to, office buildings and residential homes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is directed to an inside corner support which includes an angular member having a front side and a back side where the front side of the angular member forms less than a 180 degree angle and the back side of the angular member forms greater than a 180 degree angle, and at least one lip member which extends from the front side of the angular member. The angular member may be comprised of one single piece or two planar members each having a front and back side where the two planar members are connected along one side of each planar member in order to form an angle.

The lip member may include a top member and a bottom member which are connected to one another to form less than a 180 degree angle. In addition, an edge member may extend from the bottom member of the lip member and the edge member may be much shorter in length than the lip member. The top and bottom members of a lip member may be comprised of a single planar member that is folded to form less than a 180 degree angle. In addition, the height of the angular member may be greater than or less than the height of the lip member.

Another exemplary embodiment of the inside corner support of the present invention includes a first planar member having a front side and a back side, a second planar member having a front side and a back side where the first and second planar members are connected along a side edge to form an angle less than 180 degrees, and at least one lip member which extends from the front sides of the first and second planar members. The lip member includes a top member and a bottom member which are connected to one another to form less than a 180 degree angle. In addition, the top member and bottom member of the lip member may be made of a single planar member that is folded to form less than a 180 degree angle. In addition, an edge member may extend from the bottom member of the lip member and the edge member may be shorter in length and/or shorter in height than the lip member.

The inside corner support of the present invention is designed to be positioned within an interior corner of a building or room where the interior corner forms less than a 180 degree angle.
