Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to a positioning device, and in particular to a positioning device for adjusting a horizontal position of a window frame.

2. The Prior Arts

Generally, when installing an aluminum window, a window frame must be firstly mounted in an opening on a cement wall. Due to the requirement of a waterproofing work that has to be performed around the aluminum window, the opening is usually bigger than the window frame. After the window frame is installed, the gap around the window frame is filled up.

When performing the aforementioned window frame installment, the horizontal state of the window frame must be considered in order to prevent the window from automatically sliding after the window is mounted in the frame. As an example commonly adopted in the prior art, a large gap under the bottom of the window frame is reserved for adjusting the horizontal position of the window frame or further installing a waterproof material. A conventional way to adjust the horizontal position of the window frame is to use a plurality of sets of supporting tubes having their respective predetermined heights, which are placed under the window frame to support and adjust the window frame by one-by-one replacement of the supporting tubes. The adjustment is accomplished when the window frame is adjusted to a horizontal state. However, such way is troublesome to operate, and each time when replacing the supporting tubes, the window frame must be lifted up, which is very time-consuming and inconvenient.

Thereafter, an adjusting device including a threaded rod and a corresponding sleeve with an inner thread portion is proposed in the market. During the operation of the adjusting device, the adjusting device is disposed under a bottom of the frame with one end of the threaded rod inserted into the sleeve and engaged with inner thread portion of the sleeve, and the other end of the threaded rod is supported on the cement wall. By rotating the thread rod to move up and down in the sleeve, the position of the window frame can be adjusted. However, to operate the adjusting device, a rotational force must be applied on the threaded rod to resist the weight of the window frame, and therefore it is quite laborious and is also inconvenient for the adjustment.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In order to improve the inconvenience of adjusting a horizontal position of a window frame, the present invention provides a positioning device which is easy, time-saving and labor-saving for performing the horizontal position adjustment of the window frame. By the cushion of an elastic member, the height of the window frame can be easily adjusted and thereafter fix the window frame in position through screws.

Based on the above objective, a positioning device for a window frame in accordance with the present invention comprises a tube-shaped seat having a chamber defined therein and a limit slot defined on a side wall thereof; a lifting tube, in wherein an end of the lifting tube is received in the chamber of the seat, a screw is inserted through the limit slot and screwed into a fixing hole on a side wall of the lifting tube, whereby the lifting tube can be fastened on the seat, and a portion of the lifting tube is exposed from a top of the seat; an upper board mounted on the other end of the lifting tube; and an elastic member sleeved into the lifting tube and having both ends respectively pressed against the seat and the upper board. Besides, the seat further includes a bottom board disposed at a bottom thereof for stabilization of the seat, and the upper board may be, but not limited to, an annular shape. The upper board may further have a fixing plate extended from a rim thereof for mounted to the window frame.

In installing the window frame, the positioning devices in accordance with the present invention are placed at two sides of a bottom of the window frame, in which the bottom board of the positioning device contacts with a cement wall, and the upper board contacts with the bottom of the window frame. Then a horizontal detection device is placed on the frame for aiding to adjust the horizontal position of the window frame. During the adjustment, along with the use of the horizontal detection device, the lifting tube can be moved up and down until the window frame becomes a horizontal state, and then the screw is screwed into the fixing hole to fasten the lifting tube onto the seat such that a portion of the lifting tube is exposed from a top of the seat. Furthermore, the present invention is provided with an elastic member, which acts as a cushion, between the bottom board and the upper board. With the elastic member, there is no need to hold the window frame with a certain weight when performing the horizontal position adjustment, which saves a lot of labor. Besides applied on the window frame, the present invention also can be applied to adjust a doorframe or a machine tool to a horizontal state or a predetermined angled state. Accordingly, the present invention can be used more widely.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a positioning device 1 for a window frame in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention comprises a seat 10, an elastic member 20, a lifting tube 30 and an upper board 40. The lifting tube 30 is received in the seat 10 and fastened onto the seat 10 by a screw 32, and a portion of the lifting tube 30 is exposed from a top of the seat 10, whereby the positioning device 1 can be placed under the window frame to perform its horizontal position adjustment.

With reference to FIG. 1, the seat 10 in this embodiment is, but not limited to, a square tubular shape. It may be a round tube or other shapes of tubes. The seat 10 has a chamber 11 defined therein for receiving the elastic member 20 and the lifting tube 30. A limit slot 12 is longitudinally defined on a side wall of the seat 10. A width of the limit slot 12 is designed to fit with a diameter of a threaded portion of a screw 32, so that the threaded portion of the screw 32 can pass through the limit slot 12, and thereafter a head of the screw 32 is tightened toward the limit slot 12. A length of the limit slot 12 is designed to match with the longest distance the lifting tube 30 may reach. In addition, the limit slot 12 is disposed, but not limited to, in a longitudinal direction; it may also be disposed in a diagonal direction or in an arc shape. Besides, the seat 10 may further have a bottom board 13 provided at a bottom thereof for stabilization. The structure of the bottom board 13 has no special limitation and the bottom board 13 may have a slide-proof mechanism formed or mounted at a bottom thereof (not shown).

With reference to FIGS. 2 and 3, the elastic member 20 is, but not limited to, a spring in this embodiment. It also may be a rubber block or other similar members. The elastic member 20 can be sleevedly disposed at either inside or outside of the lifting tube 30, and have both ends pressed against the bottom board 13 and the upper board 40 respectively, so that the lifting tube 30 can go upwardly by a spring force.

The lifting tube 30 may be, but not limited to, a round tube in this embodiment of the present invention, and other shapes of tubes may also be acceptable. A fixing hole 31 is defined on the lifting tube 30 for being correspondingly and screwingly engaged with the screw 32.
