The present invention relates to a lollipop holder and carrier device for holding or storing of a lollipop candy. More particularly, the lollipop holder and carrier device has a holder section with a stem member for inserting into a lollipop candy head in order to hold the lollipop candy during consumption, and a carrier section for holding and storing the unfinished lollipop candy head within the carrier section for retrieval at a later time.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONA lollipop is a hard sucking candy used mostly by children for placement in the mouth for by licking or dissolving of the candy head in the user's mouth by saliva. Typically, the lollipop is not entirely consumed by a child during the first encounter with the lollipop, and the child usually sets aside and lays down the lollipop anywhere; a table, a chair, a floor and the like, such that the lollipop becomes lost or contaminated so that further consumption of such lollipops are no longer desirable at which time the lollipop is discarded.
It is understood that the lollipop may not be completely consumed is not particularly critical. However, the fact that the lollipop is laid down frequently and during such periods of down time, may become contaminated and thereafter no longer be fit for human consumption can assume a relatively great importance. Perhaps even more important, so far as the parents are concerned, is the fact that when a lollipop is laid down it tends to contaminate the surface upon which it is placed. For example, it is not uncommon for a child to lay a lollipop down on furniture and painted surfaces which may be damaged by the sticky substance or in other places where either the lollipop itself may be rendered unfit for further consumption or the surface upon which it is laid may be rendered less desirable than it was before. Such surfaces may require washing to remove the sticky residue derived from the lollipop, and in particularly egregious cases, the contaminated surface may even be detrimentally degenerated by the lollipop residue which may in some cases be sufficiently strong to take off the paint or other coating on the surface or to so contaminate the surface so that it can no longer be rendered useful for its intended purpose.
There remains a need for a lollipop holder device for holding and/or storing a partially consumed lollipop candy in order to maintain the lollipop candy in a sanitary condition by isolating the lollipop from the surrounding environment. Further, the lollipop holder device should have a holder section with a stem member for inserting into the lollipop candy head in order to hold the lollipop during use, and a carrier section for holding and storing the unfinished lollipop candy head within the carrier section for retrieval at a later time by the user. Also, the carrier section would have a spherical shape for accommodating various shaped lollipops.
