LAPTOP COMPUTER CARRIER CASE AND METHOD
A laptop computer carrier case (1) wherein a laptop computer (22) has at least one laptop computer cover fastening means (13) is located on a laptop computer cover (5) and an elongated strap (6) having an external strap side (14) and an internal strap side (15) wherein the strap (6) is generally loop-shaped is secured to the laptop computer cover fastening means (13). A fastening means (12 and 13) is located on the internal and external sides of the strap (15 and 14) so as to permit a person to secure the strap (6) to the laptop computer (22) and secure an accessories holder (4) thereto. The strap (6) is wrapped around the laptop computer (22) such that a portion of the strap (6) wraps around a hinged bottom edge (49) of the laptop computer (22) and at least two handles (2) and (3) extend a predetermined portion beyond the laptop computer (22). A security strap (9) is secured to a back (10) of the accessories holder (4) so as to permit a user to feed a portion of the strap (6) through an opening for the strap (8) created by the security strap (9) to prevent theft or detachment of the accessories holder (4) when transporting the laptop carrier case (1).
This invention relates to laptop carrier cases, more particularly, a laptop carrier case which permits a person to quickly and easily access his/her laptop computer without having to remove it from the computer carrier case while allowing the person to carry additional documents and/or items in an attached accessories holder.
Currently, conventional laptop computer carrier cases are constructed so as to house a laptop computer therein. Although conventional laptop computer carrier cases permit individuals to carry his/her laptop computer from various places, there are several disadvantages associated with using such laptop computer carrier cases.
First, the use of such conventional laptop computer carrier cases is time-consuming. For instance, to access the laptop computer, a user must unzip the carrier case and remove the laptop computer from the interior of the carrier case, the task of which takes a predetermined amount of time. In addition, if a user is traveling through an airport with the laptop computer housed in the laptop computer carrier case, he/she usually must open the case and remove the laptop computer from the case to show security that he/she is only carrying a laptop computer and not a prohibited item.
Second, the use of such conventional laptop computer carrier cases require the user to have access to a large amount of space. The space requirement is due to the user having to physically remove the laptop computer from the carrier case, placing the laptop computer on a surface and moving the carrier case to a different location, usually the ground. If a person is attempting to use the laptop computer on an airplane or in a confined space, it is oftentimes difficult to perform this maneuver. In the alternative, if there is little to no room, oftentimes a user uses the laptop computer within the carrier case or on the carrier case, an act which may cause the laptop computer to overheat.
Third, oftentimes a person will store documents and/or items, such as pens, business cards software, disks and the like in the internal pockets of a carrier case. When the person is in need of such items, he/she must open the carrier case to access the items, a task which is both time-consuming and burdensome.
Thus, a need exists for a laptop computer carrier case which permits a person to quickly and easily access his/her laptop computer without having to remove it from the computer carrier case while allowing the person to carry additional documents and/or items in an attached accessories holder.
The relevant prior art includes the following references:
The primary object of the present invention is to provide a laptop computer carrier case which permits a person to quickly and easily access his/her laptop computer without having to remove it from the computer carrier case.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a laptop computer carrier case which allows a person to carry additional instruments and/or documents in an attached accessories holder.
A further object of the present invention is to provide laptop computer carrier case that is easy to use.
An even further object of the present invention is to provide laptop computer carrier case that is attractive in appearance.
The present invention fulfills the above and other objects by providing a laptop computer carrier case wherein a laptop computer has at least one laptop computer cover fastening means is located on a laptop computer cover and an elongated strap having an external strap side and an internal strap side wherein the strap is generally loop-shaped is secured to the laptop computer cover fastening means. A fastening means is located on the internal and external sides of the strap so as to permit a person to secure the strap to the laptop computer and secure an accessories holder to the strap. The strap is wrapped around the laptop computer such that a portion of the strap wraps around a hinged bottom edge of the laptop computer and at least two handles extend a predetermined portion beyond the laptop computer. A security strap is secured to a back of the accessories holder so as to permit a user to feed a portion of the strap through an opening for the strap created by the security strap to prevent theft or detachment of the accessories holder when transporting the laptop carrier case.
To use the present invention, the user first positions the strap around the laptop computer hinged bottom edge and positions the two handles a predetermined portion beyond the laptop computer. The strap internal fastening means is then secured to the laptop computer cover fastening means. A portion of the strap is then inserted through the opening for the strap. Finally, the accessories holder fastening means is secured to the strap external fastening means.
Alternate embodiments of the present invention include a laptop computer holder being secured to the laptop computer wherein the strap is secured to the exterior of the laptop computer holder, a shoulder strap or back straps being secured to the laptop computer holder or handles permanently secured to the laptop computer holder.
