Adjustable pad according user's weight

A pad includes an outer cover having an inner space and an opening is defined in a side of the outer cover so as to receive a valve therein. A deformable member is received in the inner space and includes a foam piece with gaps defined therein. The foam piece is spread or soaked with gel-type material which flows within the gaps. The air in the cover is expelled out from the valve when a user sits on the pad and the cap is then seals the valve. The air outside the pad cannot enter into the pad so that the shape of the deformed pad can be kept.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a pad which is adjustable and remembers the deformation according to the user's weight.

(2) Description of the Prior Art

A conventional pad is generally made by foam material which is deformable so that the pad is deformed when the user sits thereon, and the deformation of the pad makes the user feel comfortable. There are some memory pads in the market and includes a first foam pad with a second foam pad received in the foam pad. The first foam pad is made by a foam material with high flexibility and the second foam pad is made by a foam material with low flexibility. The second foam pad bounces very slow to achieve the “memory” feature. The first and second foam pads are received in a cover so as to keep the shape of the memory pad. However, each of the first and second foam pads has a fixed and unchangeable flexibility so that the deformation to the memory pad is different when different users of different weights sit on the memory pad. The heavy user makes a significant deformation to the memory pad and receives larger reaction from the memory pad, one the contrary, the light user makes shallow deformation and receives less reaction from the memory pad. Besides, the second pad foam easily traps the heat therein which makes the user feel uncomfortable after a longer period of use. Actually, the memory pad can last the “memory” for a very short of time so that if the user leaves from the memory pad for a period of time, the memory pad bounces to its original status.

The present invention intends to provide a pad which keeps the deformation according to the user's weight by cooperation with a valve and a gel-type foam in the pad.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a pad which comprises an outer cover having an inner space in which a deformable member is received therein. An opening is defined in a side of the outer cover and a valve is engaged with the opening. A cap is removably mounted to the valve. The deformable member includes a foam piece with gaps defined therein, and gel-type material is spread to the foam piece and movable within the gaps.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a pad with deformable member received in a cover and a valve is used to control the air entering into or escaping from the interior of the cover, when a user sits on the pad, the air in the cover escapes via the valve which is then sealed so that the deformed status of the pad is kept.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the pad of the present invention is used as a seat pad;

FIG. 2 shows the pad and a cap for sealing the valve of the pad of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view to show the pad whole the cap is mounted to the valve;

FIG. 4 shows a first user sits on the pad and the air in the pad escapes from the valve;

FIG. 5 shows the cap seals the valve after the first user left and the pad is kept its deformed status;

FIG. 6 shows a second user sits on the pad and the air in the pad escapes from the valve;

FIG. 7 shows the cap seals the valve after the second user left and the pad is kept its deformed status, and

FIG. 8 shows that the pad of the present invention is used as a mattress pad.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the pad 10 of the present invention comprises an outer cover 20 which is made by Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) which is durable and strong so that it can bear high load and does not cause permanent deformation. The outer cover 20 has an inner space 21 defined therein and an opening is defined in a side of the outer cover 20. A valve 22 is engaged with the opening and a cap 23 is removably mounted to the valve 22 which communicates with the inner space 21.

A deformable member 30 is received in the inner space 21 and includes a foam piece 31 with gaps 33 defined therein. Gel-type material 32 is spread to the foam piece 31 and movable within the gaps 33 in which air is received. The foam piece 31 can also be soaked in the gel-type material 32 to achieve the same purpose. The deformable member 30 does not bounce back after it is deformed.

The gel-type material 32 is a mixture of fluid gel and water at a certain proportion so that the water is not separated from the gel-type material 32 after being compressed. The water makes the user to feel cool and comfortable after a long period of time of sit and the fluid gel reduces heat that can be absorbed by the foam piece 31.

FIGS. 4 and 5 show that the pad 10 is used as a seat pad and when a light user sits on the pad 10, the deformable member 30 is compressed and the air in the gaps 33 and the inner space 21 escapes from the valve 22. The user then seals the valve 22 by the cap 23 to prevent air outside the pad 10 from entering into the pad 10. The pressure in the pad 10 is lower than the outside of the pad 10 so that the deformed shape of the pad 10 can be kept even the user left. The user feels comfortable when he or she sits on the pad 10 again.

FIGS. 6 and 7 show that a heavy user sits on the pad 10, the deformable member 30 is compressed and the air in the gaps 33 and the inner space 21 escapes from the valve 22. The user then seals the valve 22 by the cap 23 to prevent air outside the pad 10 from entering into the pad 10. The pressure in the pad 10 is lower than the outside of the pad 10 so that the deformed shape of the pad 10 can be kept even the user left. In other words, the pad can be adjusted according to the weight of the user. FIG. 8 shows that the pad 40 is used as a mattress pad.

The deformable member 30 includes air and gel-type material 32 so that the deformable member 30 does not bounce to its original shape after being compressed, therefore, the pad remembers the compressed status even if the user left.

The gel-type material 32 does not trap heat in the pad so that the user feels cool and comfortable even if the user sits a long period of time.

The gel-type material 32 is soft and deformable so that the user's weight is absorbed by the deformable material.

The operation of the valve 22 makes the pressure in the pad 10 is lower than outside of the pad so that when the cap 23 seals the valve 22, the deformed status can be memorized.

The pad 10/40 can be used as a seat pad or a mattress pad.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
