Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to notebook computers and more particularly, to a notebook computer protector for protecting a notebook computer.

2. Description of the Related Art

People usually use a cloth bag to receive a notebook computer when the notebook computer is not used. When in use, the user must open the bag and take the notebook computer out of the bag. There is another method of protecting an individual notebook computer by adhering a thin protective film to the outer surface of the top and bottom cover shells of the housing of the notebook computer. However, a thin protective film for this purpose wears off quickly with use.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a notebook computer protector, which can easily be installed in or removed from a notebook computer without tools. To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, the notebook computer protector comprises a top protective shell and a bottom protective shell for covering the top and bottom cover shells of the housing of a notebook computer for protection. The top protective shell and the bottom protective shell each have a peripheral wall, a coupling flange extending from said peripheral wall, and a plurality of hooks protruded from said coupling flange at predetermined locations. The coupling flanges of the top protective shell and the bottom protective shell are abutted against each other and the hooks of the top cover shell are forced into engagement with the hooks of the bottom protective shell when the top cover shell and the bottom protective shell are attached together to hold a computer inside.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a notebook computer protector according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a sectional assembly view of the notebook computer protector according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a notebook computer protector in accordance with the present invention is shown comprised of a top protective shell 10 and a bottom protective shell 11 for covering the housing of a notebook computer for protection. The top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 are configured to fit over the top and bottom cover shells of the housing of a notebook computer, each having a coupling flange 13 extending from the peripheral wall 12 and a plurality of hooks 14 protruded from the coupling flange 13 at predetermined locations.

The top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 may be molded from plastics or made out of a thin sheet metal material. When a plastic material is used, the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 can be made in transparent. Further, the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 may be inscribed with a design, letters, and/or color patterns.

When in use, the notebook computer 15 is received in between the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11, and the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 are attached together to abut the two coupling flanges 13 against each other and to force the hooks 14 of the top protective shell 10 into engagement with the hooks 14 of the bottom protective shell 11. When not in use, pull the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 apart. Because the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 are respectively formed of a thin sheet member, they are temporarily deformable. Therefore, the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 can be directly pulled apart with force without casing damage.

As stated above, the invention provides a notebook protective, which has the following features and advantages:

1. The top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 well protect the notebook computer.

2. By means of the respective coupling flanges 13 and hooks 14, the top protective shell 10 and the bottom protective shell 11 can be conveniently fastened together to hold the notebook computer on the inside.

3. Mounting and dismounting of the notebook computer protector are simple without tools.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.

Claims
