Handle of a golf club
A golf club handle includes a body, and an ornamental ring; the body has two adjacent different-color sections, and a color-mixing section at a joint between the two adjacent different-color sections; the handle body is formed with an annular recess on the joint between the two adjacent different-color sections; the ornamental ring is received in the annular recesses so as to cover the color-mixing section of the handle body.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a handle of a golf club, more particularly one, which includes two adjacent different-color sections, and has an ornamental ring covering a color-mixing section at a joint between the two different-color sections thereof.
2. Brief Description of the Prior Art
In order for a handle of a golf club to be comfortable to grip in hitting a golf ball, the handle is made of rubber materials, which is soft and has very good shock-absorbing capability. In the light of modern people's taste for fancy things, the manufacturers make various new handles different from traditional ones in design and color.
Referring to
However, a joint between the two different-color sections 41 of the handle 4 will comprise a portion of rubber material (A) as well as a portion of rubber material (B) because the rubber materials (A) and (B) are sticky and thick, and have fluidity when sulfur is added to them. Therefore, the handle 4 has a color-mixing (dual-color) section at the joint between the two different-color sections 41, which isn't pleasant to look, and will spoil the appearance of the handle 4. Consequently, the handle 4 looks less valuable.
In order to ameliorate the appearance of the above handle 4, the manufacturer will need to have the handle 4 painted so as to be a same color as one of the sections 41 subsequently. However, it will take time and labor to paint the handle 4, and the color of the paint can't be exactly the same as those of the sections 41 of the handle 4. Furthermore, the paint can peel off the handle after the golf club is used for a certain length of time.
Therefore, some manufactures would choose to make a golf club handle by means of using another method; according to this method, a first kind of rubber material is put in a mold to form a first section of a handle first. Next, after the first kind of rubber material cools down, a second kind of rubber material, which is different-color from the first kind of rubber material, is put in the same mold to form a second section of the handle. Therefore, the finished handle has two different-color sections, and is prevented from having a mixing-color (dual-color) portion at a joint between the above two sections. However, the handle will take more steps and time to manufacture, and it is found that the joint between the two different-color sections of the handle can still contain both of the above rubber materials to be dual-color. Therefore, there is still room for improvement.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONA golf club handle according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a body, and an ornamental ring. The handle body has two adjacent different-color sections, and a color-mixing section at a joint between the two adjacent different-color sections, which contains both of the materials used to make the two adjacent different-color sections. The ornamental ring is positioned around the handle body so as to cover the color-mixing section.
Furthermore, the handle body has an annular recess on the joint between the two adjacent different-color sections. The ornamental ring is received in the annular recesses so as to cover the color-mixing section.
The ornamental ring can be the same color as one of the two different-color sections. Or alternatively, the color of the ornamental ring can be different from those of the two different-color sections. Further, the ornamental ring can itself comprise several sections, which are different in color.
The present invention will be better understood by referring to the accompanying drawings, wherein:

Referring to
The ornamental ring 2 is held in the annular recess 13 of the handle body 1 so as to be secured on the handle body 1.
Therefore, the ornamental ring 2 covers the color-mixing section 12 at the joint between the two sections 11 of the handle body 1, thus preventing the color-mixing section 12 of the handle body 1 from being exposed. Consequently, the first section 11 of the handle body 1 doesn't contain any of the rubber material (B) of the second section 11 at the periphery adjacent to the ornamental ring 2 while the second section 11 of the handle body 1 doesn't contain any of the rubber material (A) of the first section 11 at the periphery adjacent to the ornamental ring 2.
The ornamental ring 2 can be the same color as one of the adjacent different-color sections 11 of the handle body 1, as shown in
From the above description, it can be seen that the present invention has the following advantages:
1. The handle includes the ornamental ring received in the annular recesses to cover the color-mixing section at the joint between the first and the second sections of the handle body, which are different in color; thus, the first section doesn't contain any of the rubber material of the second section at the periphery, and the second section doesn't contain any of the rubber material of the first section at the periphery, and in turn the handle looks relatively valuable.
2. The ornamental ring can have such a pattern/color as to match the different-color sections of the handle body and make the handle more pleasant-looking and attractive.
3. It is possible for the manufacturer to have some defective products, which will be discarded, in manufacturing ornamental rings with several different-color sections. Because it only takes a relatively small amount of material to make an ornamental ring, there won't be much loss resulting from some defective rings coming into existence in manufacturing.
