BACKGROUND OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to an illuminating device, and more particularly to a decorative night light device.

2. Description of Related Arts

The conventional night light consists of an electrical socket which is integrated with a plug to be inserted into an electrical wall outlet, a low-wattage bulb being held in the socket which also supports a small shade. A night light of this type which provides low-level illumination, is purely utilitarian in function and appearance, and it makes no useful or decorative contribution to the room apart from low-level illumination.

Under some circumstance, such as in a room or passageway, a night light device is usually used. For example, a bedroom, in considering the sleeping conditions of a room, one must not only seek to minimize noise and other disturbances, but one must also arrange for the proper degree of lighting and take steps to ensure a pleasing atmosphere. A totally dark room is not the ideal environment for sleeping, for it may be psychologically depressing to the occupant. Moreover, should the sleeper awaken and then move about the dark room, he may collide with furniture and other articles therein. Where the sleeping room is a child's nursery, a minimum degree of light is desirable. Young children are often fearful of complete darkness; and should a parent wish to check on the sleeping child without turning on the room light, a low-level night light which is already “on” is useful for this purpose.

Besides, the use of light bulbs to illuminate a picture slide is commonplace, for all commercial slide projectors include a light bulb to supply the required light.

But it has not heretofore been known to combine a low-level night light with a picture slide to provide illumination in a decorative form to render the atmosphere of the place being illuminated more pleasing.

According to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the night light stand arrangement 60 contains a plurality of standing slots 61 spacedly formed on the rear wall 113 of the supporting frame, and a supporting stand 62 detachably engaged into the standing slots 61 in such a manner that when the supporting stand 62 is engaged with the standing slots 61, the supporting frame 10 is allowed to be inclinedly supported by the supporting stand 62 so that the object 70 can be displayed on a flat surface (FIG. 16A and FIG. 16B). More specifically, the supporting stand 62 comprises a standing panel 621 and a plurality of engaging members 622 inclinedly extended from the standing panel 621 and is arranged to engage with the standing slots 61, so that the supporting frame 10 is capable of standing on the flat surface through the supporting stand 62. It is worth mentioning that the night light stand arrangement 60 further contains a securing slots 63 spacedly and indently provided on the rear wall 113 of the supporting frame 10 and shaped and sized to correspond with the engaging members 622 of the supporting stand 62 so that the supporting stand 62 is adapted to be detached from the standing slots 61 and engage with the securing slots 63 when the supporting stand 62 is not utilized for erecting the supporting frame 10 on the flat surface. As shown in FIG. 12 to FIG. 15, and FIG. 16A and FIG. 16B of the drawings, each of the securing slots 63 is longitudinally formed on the rear wall 113 of the supporting frame 10 while corresponding supporting stand 62 is adapted to overlappedly engage with the securing slot 63 for minimizing a thickness of protrusion from the rear wall 113 of supporting frame 10. As such, the supporting frame 10 is capable of being hanged onto an external wall through the connecting holes 182.

In order to allow the user to replace the object 70 displaying through the illumination window 15, the rear wall 113 of the supporting frame 10 has a main wall portion 1131 communicating with the hollow cavity 14, and a peripheral side wall portion 1132 wherein the main wall portion 1131 is detachably attached with the peripheral rear wall portion 1132 through a plurality of connectors 1133 in such a manner what a user is able to detach the main wall portion 1131 of the rear wall 113 and replace the object 70 within the hollow cavity 14. After securely mounting the object 70 onto an inner surface of the main wall portion 1131 of the rear wall 113, the user is able to attach the main wall portion 1131 back with the peripheral rear wall portion 1132 through the connectors 1133.

Finally it is worth mentioning that a glass 80 is provided on the front wall 112 of the supporting frame 10 to cover the hollow cavity 14 so as to substantially protect the object 70 displayed in the hollow cavity 14 while allowing the object 70 to be displayed through the glass.
