Oven Flap

The invention is a simple rectangular piece of 22 gauge 304 or 316 Stainless Steel. It is 31.75 inches in length×3.75 inches in height and 0.025 inches in thickness. Attached to the steel plate are two Stainless Steel hinges. These can either be welded on or attached with nuts and bolts. The height and with of the invention can be adjusted to fit ovens which have different openings sizes but the function and use of the invention remains exactly the same.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

“The Oven Flap” is in short, a stainless steel swinging door. Once attached to the ends of any conveyor style oven, “The Oven Flap” creates a barrier which block escaping heat and in turn reduces the amount of energy the oven uses, while still allowing food products to move freely thorough the oven.

Type B Flap has a 1.5″ opening to allow food product, which doesn't have a deep dish pan to push open the flap, to move through the smaller opening without touching the flap.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

At the end of all conveyor style ovens there are two large openings which allow food products to enter and exit. The problem is, heat is constantly escaping unhindered through these very same openings. “The Oven Flap” is in short, a stainless steel swinging door. Once attached to the ends of any conveyor style oven, “The Oven Flap” creates a barrier which block escaping heat and in turn reduces the amount of energy the oven uses.

When food move down the conveyor belt, the “The Oven Flap” is pushed open by the food product, a deep dish pan or any other device or attachment that keeps the “Oven Flap” from touching the food product. Then as the food passes beyond the edge of the flap, it will swing back down to a closed position. The process is repeated when the food product exits the oven.

Claims

1) “The Oven Flap” creates a barrier or “door” at the ends of conveyor style ovens which blocks escaping heat.

2) In creating this barrier or “door”, energy consumption by the oven is reduced.

3) This invention is attached to the oven by hinges and these hinges allow food product to enter and exit the oven automatically as the conveyor moves foward.
