Ball glove organizer

Abstract

This is a ball glove organizer. It organizes players' gloves into pockets so as to provide an easy means to locate a particular player's glove at the end of an inning. There are connectors at the top of the support panel of the ball glove organizer so it can be attached to a fence. A unique emblem identifying the player's position is sewn to the front of each pocket so as to allow a quick identification of the player's glove. A strap is attached to the ball glove organizer so as to provide a convenient method to carry the ball glove organizer from ball field to ball field.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1) Field of the Invention

The field of invention relates generally to a ball glove organizer and more particularly to product that enables users to easily organize their ball gloves during a baseball, softball or t-ball game.

2) Description of Prior Art

Baseball has been played for over a hundred years. While not over a hundred years, softball and t-ball have been played for many years too. At the end of each inning, the players in the field go to their dugout; the players take off their ball gloves; and, generally, throw their gloves throughout the dugout. Each player rarely places his or her glove in a specific place. This causes problems when the team needs to take the field. The main reason for the problems revolve around the players inability to locate their glove, or when another player needs to get the glove of a teammate (after such teammate makes an out), it can be difficult to locate the teammate's glove. The present invention is designed to specifically solve this problem.

There are other inventions that have attempted to solve this problem but not in the same way and in the opinion of the inventors, not near as well.

For example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,294,005 uses modular tubing to hold players' gloves, but the tubing is not easy to carry from place to place like the current invention. Further, under that design, unlike the present invention, it does not allow for the placement of the team's logo or an advertisement on it.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,337,907 employs hooks to hold the players' gloves and provides for multiple pockets to hold the players' water bottles. The present invention provides multiple pockets for the players' gloves and provides a means to identify each of the players' gloves by position. The present invention also provides for the placement of a team's logo or an advertisement on it, and allows for an easier method to carry or transport it from ball field to ball field.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,053,340 is designed to hold a water bottle but not specifically designed to hold multiple ball gloves like the present invention. Additionally, the present invention allows for an easy method to transport it from location to location.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention is a ball glove organizer. It is specifically designed to hold baseball, softball, t-ball or similar types of gloves. It has pockets that hold a ball glove within a pocket.

The invention comprises a support panel. The support panel is very flexible so as to be easily rolled up into a tube for easy transportation from ball field to ball field. The support panel would also be rolled out when in use.

The support panel on its front side has sewn to it multiple pockets. It is designed to have ten (10) pockets but can have more or less pockets if needed. Each pocket has attached to the front of the pocket an emblem. The emblem signifies the position of the player whose glove is within the pocket. For example, one pocket has the “2B” emblem on it and is on the front of the pocket and this signifies that the second baseman's glove is within that pocket.

Attached to the top of the support panel are multiple loops. Attached to each loop is a connector. The connector allows for attachment to a fence within or near the dugout so as to hang the ball glove organizer onto the fence. In this way, the players can easily locate the ball glove organizer and place their glove in the correct pocket. The correct pocket is the one that has the emblem on it with the position that they are on the field.

On the rear (which is the opposite side of the side where the pockets are sewn) of the support panel, one can attach the team's logo or an advertisement. Ideally, the team logo or an advertisement would be facing the field of play or the fans viewing the game and not the inside of the dugout.

A strap is provided on the rear of the support panel so that when the support panel is rolled up (with the pockets within the rolled up portion of the support panel) into a tube, the support panel can stay (using the strap) in this rolled up position. The strap also can be used to carry the ball glove organizer from the ball field after the game is over.

The ball glove organizer can easily organize a team's gloves and is very simple to transport.

The invention resides not in any one of these features per se, but rather in the particular combination of all of them herein disclosed and claimed, and it is distinguished from the prior art in this particular combination of all its structures for the functions specified.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the important features of the invention in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are, of course, additional features of the invention that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.

Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientists, engineers and practitioners in the art who are familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application. The abstract is neither intended to define the invention of the application, which is measured by the claims, nor is it intended to be limiting as to the scope of the invention in any way.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product that is easy to use.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product at a reasonable low cost.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product that organizes ball gloves in a simple manner.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product that eliminates picking up the incorrect ball glove.

Another object is to provide a new and improved product that is easy to make.

Another object is to provide a new and improved product that eliminates time wasted looking for the correct ball glove.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to establish a sense of order and organization within a team's dugout.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product that is easy to transport from ball field to ball field.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a new and improved product that allows for the team's logo or an advertisement to be placed on it.

Further objects and advantages are to provide improved elements and arrangements thereof in an apparatus for the purposes described which are dependable, economical, durable and fully effective in accomplishing its intended purposes.

These together with other objects of the invention, along with the various features of novelty that characterize the invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure. For a better understanding of the invention, its operating advantages and the specific objects attained by its use, reference should be had to accompanying drawings and descriptive matter that is illustrated the preferred embodiment of the invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With respect to FIG. 1, the ball glove organizer 2 comprises a support panel 4. The support panel 4 ideally is made of nylon and is approximately 29½ inches in width and approximately 50¾ inches from top to bottom or in height. On the front side of the support panel 4 are sewn pockets 6. Ideally, each pocket 6 is approximately 8¾ inches in width and approximately 9 inches in height. The opening in each pocket 6 allows for a ball glove to fit within it. At the top portion of the support panel 4 is sewn loops 10. Attached to each loop 10 is a connector 12. The connector 12 ideally has a hook that allows a user to attach it to a fence or similar structure. The connector 12 swivels to allow for easy attachment. A strap 16 is attached to the rear (the opposite side of where the pockets 6 are attached to the support panel 4) of the support panel 4. The strap 16 ideally is made of nylon and has a portion of velcro on it to allow for the support panel 4 to roll up in a tube (with the pockets 6 within the interior of the support panel 4 when rolled up) and the strap 16 can also allow a user to carry the device from ball field to ball field.

With respect to FIG. 2, the invention comprises the support panel 4. Attached to the support panel 4 are multiple pockets 6. Ideally, there would be at least ten (10) pockets 6. The reason for that is that since there are ten (10) positions in softball, the ball glove organizer can be used for softball, as well as baseball or t-ball. The loops 10 are attached at the top on the support panel 4. Connectors 12, which ideally swivel and have hooks for an easier connection to a fence or similar structure, are attached to the loops 10.

With respect to FIG. 3, this drawing depicts the rear view of the invention. It depicts primarily the back side of the support panel which is the opposite side of the pockets. FIG. 3 shows that the team's logo or an advertisement 14 can be placed on the back side of the support panel. The strap 16 provides a means to roll up the support panel and the loops 10 and connectors 12 provide an easy means to hang the ball glove organizer in the place the user desires.

With respect to FIG. 4, this drawing provides a perspective view of the ball glove organizer. A multiple number of pockets 6 are sewn onto the support panel. The pockets 6 provide a slot so that each ball player can place his or her glove into a pocket 6. A strap 16 is provided and attached to the support panel so as to allow the support panel to be rolled into a tube and the ball glove organizer transported from ball field to ball field.

FIG. 5 shows a view of the loop 10 and connector 12. This allows for the means to hang the ball glove organizer from a fence or other similar structure. The connector 12 ideally provides a means to hook onto the fence (or similar structure) and the connector 12 ideally can swivel so as to provide an easier means to attach to a fence (or similar structure).

FIG. 6 depicts the emblem 8 sewn onto each pocket. A unique emblem 8 is sewn onto each pocket to match the players' position on the field. Each player then places his or her respective glove into the pocket that matches the position on the ball field such player is playing.

With respect to FIG. 7, this drawing depicts a perspective view of the ball glove organizer 2. The ball glove organizer 2 has a support panel 4. On the front side of the support panel 4 are sewn pockets 6. The opening in each pocket 6 would allow for a ball glove to fit within it. At the top portion of the support panel 4 is sewn loops 10. Attached to each loop 10 is a connector 12. A strap 16 is attached to the rear (the opposite side of where the pockets 6 are attached to the support panel 4) of the support panel 4. The strap 16 supports the support panel 4 when rolled up in a tube (with the pockets 6 within the interior of the support panel 4 when rolled up). With respect to FIG. 8, the strap 16 can also allow a user to carry the ball glove organizer from ball field to ball field.

With respect to the attached drawings, FIG. 9 depicts a drawing prior to using the ball glove organizer. The gloves often are thrown around throughout the dugout. This causes a problem when trying to locate a player's particular glove at the end of an inning. FIG. 10 depicts a drawing employing the ball glove organizer. The ball glove organizer, as is evident from a review of FIG. 10, provides an easy means to organizer a team's gloves.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the invention to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Thus, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A ball glove organizer, comprising:

a support panel;

a plurality of pockets attached to said support panel;

a connecting means attached to said support panel;

an emblem on each of said pockets;

a strap attached to said support panel; and

an advertisement on said support panel.

2. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein said support panel is made of nylon.

3. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein said support panel is approximately 29½ inches in width and approximately 50¾ inches in height.

4. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein each of said pockets is approximately 8¾ inches in width and approximately 9 inches in height.

5. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein said connecting means comprises a loop and a connector.

6. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein said strap has velcro on it.

7. The ball glove organizer of claim 1, wherein said emblem has a softball field position printed on said emblem.

8. A ball glove organizer, comprising:

a support panel;

a plurality of pockets attached to said support panel;

a connecting means attached to said support panel;

an emblem on each of said pockets;

a strap attached to said support panel; and

a logo on said support panel.

9. A ball glove organizer, comprising:

a support panel, which is made of nylon, said support panel having a front side and back side;

a plurality of pockets attached to said front side of said support panel;

a loop attached to said support panel;

a connector attached to said loop;

an emblem on each of said pockets, said emblem has printed on it a softball field position;

a strap attached to said support panel; and

an advertisement on said back side of said support panel.

10. The ball glove organizer of claim 9, wherein said support panel is approximately 29½ inches in width and approximately 50¾ inches in height.

11. The ball glove organizer of claim 9, wherein each of said pockets is approximately 8¾ inches in width and approximately 9 inches in height.

12. The ball glove organizer of claim 9, wherein said strap has velcro on it.
