Abstract

A jewelry display and storage device includes a base member for supporting such jewelry display and storage device. Such base member is manufactured from a first predetermined material and has a first predetermined size and a first predetermined shape. A first jewelry support member is rotatably disposed on such base member at a predetermined location thereon. Such first jewelry support member is manufactured from a second predetermined material and has a second predetermined size and a second predetermined shape. A second jewelry support member is disposed at a first end thereof on such first jewelry support member. Such second jewelry support member is manufactured from a third predetermined material and has a third predetermined size and a third predetermined shape.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This patent application is related to and claims priority from U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 60/972,550 filed Sep. 14, 2007.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates, in general, to jewelry storage devices and, more particularly, this invention relates to a rotatable jewelry storage and display device.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Prior to the conception and development of the present invention, enclosed jewelry boxes, as are generally well known in the prior art, have been used to store jewelry. Such jewelry boxes hide jewelry and keep jewelry items out of view such that such jewelry is not readily available for matching with outfits and other accessories. Small items of jewelry can get lost and chains may become tangled. Items within such jewelry box can be moved to a back or bottom of such jewelry box and become broken, dirty, tangled, and marred. Therefore, there is a need for a device which is easy to view and access and which will keep items tangle free, in good condition, and wherein such device is aesthetically pleasing to a user.

Specifically of interest to the present invention are the following: Ingersoll, U.S. Pat. No. 4,632,474 discloses a storage device for storing jewelry items. It has a base with a shaft extending upward therefrom with a plurality of spaced-apart shelves. A portion of the surface of each shelf is formed of a mesh which presents apertures to receive the posts of, for example, post-type pierced earrings. The shelves are surrounded by a cylindrical-like housing, a portion of which is rotatable about the other to provide for access. Dish-like recesses are formed in the base for storage of, for example, fasteners for post-type pierced earrings. The top shelf has spaced-apart posts along its perimeter from which articles such as necklaces may be suspended. The top shelf also has slots formed therein to receive articles such as the base or finger portion of rings.

Kane, et al, U.S. Design Pat. No. D350864 discloses an ornamental design for a jewelry display fixture for resting upon a display counter.

Thompson, U.S. Pat. No. 1,393,050 discloses a rotatable display apparatus. Such display apparatus is within a glass container and is designed for housing items for sale.

Bradley, U.S. Pat. No. 641,671, discloses a revolving showcase including a stationary base for sitting on a counter. Such display case is apparently for housing and displaying items for sale.

Hennings, U.S. Design Pat. No. D108,235, discloses the ornamental design for a display stand.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a jewelry display and storage device. Such jewelry display and storage device includes a base member for supporting such jewelry display and storage device. Such base member is manufactured from a first predetermined material and has a first predetermined size and a first predetermined shape. A first jewelry support member is rotatably disposed on such base member at a predetermined location thereon. Such first jewelry support member is manufactured from a second predetermined material and has a second predetermined size and a second predetermined shape. A second jewelry support member is disposed at a first end thereof on such first jewelry support member. Such second jewelry support member is manufactured from a third predetermined material and has a third predetermined size and a third predetermined shape.

OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION

It is, therefore, one of the primary objects of the present invention to provide a jewelry storage device which includes a rotatable portion on which necklaces, bracelets, pins and other jewelry and accessories may be stored and displayed and at least one saucer type portion for storing and displaying rings, bracelets, watches, earrings, toe rings, belly button rings, and the like.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a unique jewelry storage device which includes a center tower having hooks disposed thereon which may be used to hang necklaces thereon.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a jewelry display and storage unit which has at least one portion which spins to allow a user to easily view and access an item of jewelry to wear.

Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a jewelry display and storage device which displays and stores jewelry in an organized and neat manner.

An additional object of the present invention is to provide a jewelry display and storage device which provides easy access to items of jewelry stored thereon and which includes a cover member for covering such jewelry display and storage device as desired by a user.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a jewelry carousel creating a rotatable jewelry storage and display device.

In addition to the various objects and advantages of the present invention described with some degree of specificity above it should be obvious that additional objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art from the following more detailed description of the invention, particularly, when such description is taken in conjunction with the attached drawing figures and with the appended claims.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF A PRESENTLY PREFERRED AND VARIOUS ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION

Prior to proceeding to the more detailed description of the present invention, it should be noted that, for the sake of clarity and understanding, identical components which have identical functions have been identified with identical reference numerals throughout the several views illustrated in the drawing figures.

Reference is now made, more particularly, to FIGS. 1-2.

A jewelry display and storage device, generally designated 10, is provided. Such jewelry display and storage device 10 includes a base member 12 for supporting such jewelry display and storage device 10.

Such base member 12 is manufactured from a first predetermined material and has a first predetermined size and a first predetermined shape.

It is presently preferred that such first predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof. It is presently preferred that such first predetermined material is wood.

A first jewelry support member 14 is rotatably disposed on such base member 12 at a predetermined location thereon. Such first jewelry support member 14 is manufactured from a second predetermined material and has a second predetermined size and a second predetermined shape. It is presently preferred that such second predetermined shape is substantially saucer shaped. It is meant that such saucer shaped first jewelry support member includes a concave portion for retaining items therein. It is presently preferred that such saucer shaped first jewelry support member 14 has a diameter of between about 7½ and about 10 inches.

It is presently preferred that such second predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof. It is presently most preferred that such second predetermined material is wood.

A second jewelry support member 16 is disposed at a first end 18 thereof on such first jewelry support member 14. Such second jewelry support member 16 is manufactured from a third predetermined material and has a third predetermined size and a third predetermined shape.

It is presently preferred that such third predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof. It is presently most preferred that such third predetermined material is wood.

It is presently preferred that such third predetermined shape is an elongated generally cylindrical shape. It is presently preferred that such cylindrical shaped second jewelry support member 16 has a diameter of between about 6 inches and about 8 inches.

It is presently preferred that such second jewelry support member 16 includes means 22 for receiving a pin portion 24 of at least one first predetermined item of jewelry 26. It is meant that such second jewelry support member 16 be capable of supporting any type of jewelry having a pin portion, such types of jewelry may include pins, brooches, pendants, earrings, and the like. It is meant that such means may be fabric, padding, and a combination thereof disposed on such second jewelry support member. Such means 22 may be the type of material that such second jewelry support member is manufactured from, or may be apertures disposed thereon. However, such means 22 is not meant to be limited as such and may be any type of means which facilitates such purpose.

It is presently preferred that such second jewelry support member 16 includes a hanging means 28 on which at least one second predetermined item of jewelry 32 may be hung. It is presently preferred that such hanging means 28 includes at least one hook type member 34 disposed on a predetermined location on such second jewelry support member 16. It is meant that any type of jewelry such as necklaces, bracelets, ankle bracelets, earrings, bangles, belly button rings, toe rings, rings, and the like may be hung on such hanging means 28.

It is presently preferred that such jewelry display and storage device 10 further includes a third jewelry support member 36 disposed on a second end 38 of such second jewelry support member 16. Such third jewelry support member 36 is manufactured from a fourth predetermined material and has a fourth predetermined size and a fourth predetermined shape. It is presently preferred that such fourth predetermined shape is substantially a saucer shape. It is meant that such saucer shaped third jewelry support member includes a concave portion for retaining items therein. It is presently preferred that such saucer shaped third jewelry support member 36 has a diameter of between about 7½ and about 10 inches.

It is presently preferred that such jewelry display and storage device 10 further includes a fourth jewelry support member 42 disposed at a first end 44 thereof on a predetermined portion of such third jewelry support member 36 for receiving at least one of bracelets 37, bangles (not shown), and a combination thereof. Such fourth jewelry support member 42 is manufactured from a fifth predetermined material and has a fifth predetermined size and a fifth predetermined shape. It is presently preferred that such fifth predetermined shape is an elongated generally cylindrical shape. It is presently preferred that such fourth jewelry support member 42 further includes a knob type handle 52 at an axially opposed second end 54 thereof for use by a user (not shown) to rotate such jewelry support members. It is meant that such first, second, third and fourth jewelry support members rotate in at least one direction as desired by a user while such base member remains stationary. It is meant that a user may rotate such device not only via the knob type handle but also via any of the jewelry support members as desired. It is meant that such device will provide a jewelry carousel for use by a user to store and display jewelry in an aesthetically pleasing and convenient to use manner.

It is presently preferred that such jewelry display and storage device 10 further includes a cover member 55 for covering at least a predetermined portion of such jewelry and storage device 10, such cover member 55 being manufactured from a sixth predetermined material and having a sixth predetermined size and a sixth predetermined shape. It is meant that such cover member 55 enables a user to cover at least a predetermined portion the device 10 such that such predetermined portion of such device 10 and items stored and displayed thereon are protected from dust, dirt, debris, cleaning fluid from spray and aerosol cleaner bottles being used in the vicinity of such device 10, and the like. However, the cover member 55 is not meant to be limited as such and may also be used for such other purposes as may be necessary and desired by such user, for example, such cover member 55 may be used to match and coordinate with the décor of the location or room in which such device 10 is situated.

It is presently preferred that such first jewelry support member 14 includes a first lining 56 disposed at a predetermined location on an inner portion 58 thereof such that predetermined jewelry items 62 supported by such first jewelry support member 14 will rest on such first lining 56, such first lining 56 being manufactured from an seventh predetermined material and having a seventh predetermined size and a seventh predetermined shape.

It is presently preferred that such third jewelry support member 36 includes a second lining 72 disposed at a predetermined location on an inner portion 74 thereof such that predetermined jewelry items 62 supported by such third jewelry support member 36 will rest on such second lining 72. Such second lining 72 is manufactured from an eighth predetermined material and has an eighth predetermined size and an eighth predetermined shape.

While a presently preferred and various alternative embodiments of the present invention have been described in sufficient detail above to enable a person skilled in the relevant art to make and use the same, it should be obvious that various other adaptations and modifications can be envisioned by those persons skilled in such art without departing from either the spirit of the invention or the scope of the appended claims.

Claims

1. A jewelry display and storage device comprising:

a. a base member for supporting said jewelry display and storage device, said base member being manufactured from a first predetermined material and having a first predetermined size and a first predetermined shape;

b. a first jewelry support member rotatably disposed on said base member at a predetermined location thereon, said first jewelry support member being manufactured from a second predetermined material and having a second predetermined size and a second predetermined shape; and

c. a second jewelry support member disposed at a first end thereof on said first jewelry support member, said second jewelry support member being manufactured from a third predetermined material and having a third predetermined size and a third predetermined shape.

2. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said second predetermined shape is substantially saucer shaped.

3. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein third predetermined shape is an elongated generally cylindrical shape.

4. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said jewelry display and storage device further includes a third jewelry support member disposed on a second end of said second jewelry support member, said third jewelry support member being manufactured from a fourth predetermined material and having a fourth predetermined size and a fourth predetermined shape.

5. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 4 wherein said fourth predetermined shape is substantially saucer shaped.

6. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said second jewelry support member includes means for receiving a pin portion of at least one first predetermined item of jewelry.

7. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said second jewelry support member includes a hanging means on which at least one second predetermined item of jewelry may be hung.

8. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 7 wherein said hanging means includes at least one hook type member disposed on a predetermined location on said second jewelry support member.

9. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 4 wherein said jewelry display and storage device further includes a fourth jewelry support member disposed at a first end thereof on a predetermined portion of said third jewelry support member for receiving at least one of bracelets, bangles, and a combination thereof, said fourth jewelry support member being manufactured from a fifth predetermined material and having a fifth predetermined size and a fifth predetermined shape.

10. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said jewelry display and storage device further includes a cover member for covering said jewelry and storage device, said cover member being manufactured from a sixth predetermined material and having a sixth predetermined size and a sixth predetermined shape.

11. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 9 wherein said fifth predetermined shape is an elongated generally cylindrical shape.

12. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 11 wherein said fourth jewelry support member further includes a knob type handle at an axially opposed second end thereof for use by a user to rotate said jewelry support members.

13. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said first predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof.

14. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 13 wherein said first predetermined material is wood.

15. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said second predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof.

16. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 15 wherein said second predetermined material is wood.

17. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said third predetermined material is at least one of plastic, wood, metal, and a combination thereof.

18. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 17 wherein said third predetermined material is wood.

19. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said first jewelry support member includes a first lining disposed at a predetermined location on an inner portion thereof such that predetermined jewelry items supported by said first jewelry support member will rest on said first lining, said first lining being manufactured from a seventh predetermined material and having a seventh predetermined size and a seventh predetermined shape.

20. A jewelry display and storage device according to claim 1 wherein said third jewelry support member includes a second lining disposed at a predetermined location on an inner portion thereof such that predetermined jewelry items supported by said second jewelry support member will rest on said second lining, said second lining being manufactured from an eighth predetermined material and having an eighth predetermined size and an eighth predetermined shape.
