Barrier between two sidewalls

A barrier includes two upright posts and a retractable top rail and a retractable bottom rail are connected between the two posts. A piece of fabric is located in an area enclosed by the two posts, the top rail and the bottom rail. Two suction disks are connected on two ends of each of the top rail and the bottom rail so as to be sucked on two sidewalls between which the barrier is located. Two side pieces are connected to the two posts and extend toward the two sidewalls so as to block the scenes via gaps between the posts and the sidewalls.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a barrier connected between two sidewalls to prevent babies or pets from going out.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional barrier 5 for restricting babies or pets from leaving a certain space generally is located at hall way or an entrance and connected between two sidewalls as shown in FIG. 6, includes two posts 51 and a bottom rail 52 and a top rail 54 are connected between the two posts 51 respectively, a piece of fabric 53 is connected to the area enclosed by the posts 51, the bottom rail 52 and the top rail 54 so as to block the entrance. In order to adapt different widths of different needs, the bottom and top rails 52, 54 are extractable. However, the conventional barrier 5 includes too many parts which have different shapes so that the parts are not disadvantageous for manufactured and assembled. Besides, the connection of the posts, the bottom rail and top rail is not secured enough and might be collapsed when the baby or pet hits the barrier.

The present invention intends to provide a barrier which is easily assembled and manufactured, the bottom and top rails include suction disks for being securely connected to the sidewalls. Besides, two side pieces are connected to two sides of the fabric to block view of the babies or pets who are not attracted by the scenes separated by the barrier.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a barrier which is located between two sidewalls of hall way or entrance and comprises two upright posts and a retractable top rail and a retractable bottom rail are connected between the two posts. Two suction disks are connected on two ends of the top rail and two suction disks are connected on two ends of the bottom rail. A piece of fabric is located in an area enclosed by the two posts, the top rail and the bottom rail. Two side pieces are connected to the two posts and extend toward the two sidewalls.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 3-1, the barrier 1 of the present invention comprises a post unit 2 including two posts 21 which are located upright and close to two sidewalls or two doorposts. Each of the two posts 11 includes two C-shaped members on two ends thereof. A retractable top rail 11 and a retractable bottom rail are connected between the two posts 21. The top rail 11 and the bottom rail are identical. Each of the top rail 11 and the bottom rail includes an outer tube 12, an inner tube 13 which has a first end inserted into the outer tube 12, a V-shaped positioning member 131 received in the inner tube 13 and including a protrusion 132 on one side thereof, the protrusion 132 extending through a first hole defined through the inner tube 13 and engaged with one of second holes 121 defined through the outer tube 12, a threaded rod 14 inserted into a second end of the inner tube 13 and an adjustment nut 141 threadedly mounted to the threaded rod 14 and contacting the second end of the inner tube 13. The two C-shaped members of each post 21 are connected to the threaded rods 14 of the top rail 11 and the bottom rail. A wrap member 31 is warped on the threaded rod 14 exposed out from the second end of the inner tube 13 of each of the top rail 11 and the bottom rail. The wrap member 31 includes two connection sides and each connection side includes a loop-hook fabric so that the wrap member 31 is easily warp on the threaded rod 4 or removed from the threaded rod 4.

Two suction disks 15 are connected to the threaded rods 14 of the top rail 11 and the bottom rail respectively. Another two suction disks 15 are connected to the outer tubes 12 of the top rail 11 and the bottom rail.

A piece of fabric 3 is located in an area enclosed by the two posts 21, the top rail 11 and the bottom rail. Two side pieces 33 are connected to the two posts 33 and extend toward the two sidewalls or doorposts so as to block the gaps between the posts 21 and the sidewalls or doorposts.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, when adjusting the barrier 1, simply rotating the threaded rods 14, which are moved relative stationary adjustment nuts 141 until the suction disks 15 are sucked on the sidewalls or doorposts. By the suction disks 15, the barrier 1 is secured and does not collapse by the pets or babies. The side pieces 33 block the gaps between the posts 21 and the sidewalls or doorposts so that the babies or pets will, not be attracted by the scenes on the other side of the barrier 1.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A barrier comprising:

two posts located upright and adapted located beside two sidewalls;
a retractable top rail and a retractable bottom rail connected between the two posts, two suction disks connected on two ends of the top rail and two suction disks connected on two ends of the bottom rail;
a piece of fabric located in an area enclosed by the two posts, the top rail and the bottom rail, and
two side pieces connected to the two posts and being adapted to extend toward the two sidewalls.

2. The barrier as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the two posts includes two C-shaped members on two ends thereof and the two C-shaped members are connected to the top rail and the bottom rail.

The barrier as claimed in claim 1, wherein each of the top rail and the bottom rail includes an outer tube, an inner tube which has a first end inserted into the outer tube, a V-shaped positioning member received in the inner tube and including a protrusion on one side thereof, the protrusion extending through a first hole defined through the inner tube and engaged with one of second holes defined through the outer tube, a threaded rod inserted into a second end of the inner tube and an adjustment nut threadedly mounted to the threaded rod and contacting the second end of the inner tube.

4. The barrier as claimed in claim 3, wherein one of the suction disks of each of the top rail and the bottom rail is connected to the threaded rod and the other suction disk is connected to the outer tube.

5. The barrier as claimed in claim 3, wherein a wrap member is warped on the threaded rod exposed out from the second end of the inner tube of each of the top rail and the bottom rail.

6. The barrier as claimed in claim 5, wherein the wrap member includes two connection sides and each connection side includes a loop-hook fabric.
