Seat frame assembly
A seat frame assembly is disclosed to include a base frame, which has two extension bars arranged in parallel at two sides, a back frame, which has a pivot axle transversely disposed on the middle and pivotally coupled between the extension bars of the base frame, and two support members coupled between two transversely extending bottom connection tubes of the base frame and the pivot axle of the back frame.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to seat frame structures and more particularly to a seat frame assembly, which has a pivoted back frame that prevents stress concentration when supporting the back of the user sitting on the seat frame assembly.
2. Description of the Related Art
A conventional seat or chair generally comprises a seat frame structure formed of wooden bars or metal bars, and covering members covering the seat frame structure and stuffed of a soft or flexible stuffing material. This design of seat or chair has drawbacks. Because the wooden bar or metal bars are fixedly connected to one another, the tilting angle of the back of the seat or chair is not adjustable to fit the user's back in different tilting angles. Further, the wooden bars or metal bars do not facilitate ventilation. These drawbacks are more apparent when the seat frame structure is used in a legless chair or traditional Japanese seat.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a seat frame assembly, which allows free adjustment of the back frame to fit the tilting angle of the user's back. It is another object of the present invention to provide a seat frame assembly, which facilitates ventilation.
To achieve these and other objects of the present invention, the seat frame assembly comprises a base frame, which has two extension bars arranged in parallel at two sides, a back frame, which has a pivot axle transversely disposed on the middle and pivotally coupled between the extension bars of the base frame, and two support members coupled between two transversely extending bottom connection tubes of the base frame and the pivot axle of the back frame. Further, the base frame and the back frame each are comprised of two side frame plates and a plurality of connection tubes connected between the side frame plates. The connection tubes facilitate ventilation.
Referring to
The base frame 10 comprises two side frame plates 11 arranged in parallel at two sides, each side frame plate 11 having a plurality of mounting holes 13 arranged in line, two extension bars 12 respectively formed integral with and extending from the side frame plates 11, each extension bar 12 having a pivot hole 14 at the distal end, a plurality of first connection tubes 15 and two second connection tubes 150 respectively coupled between the mounting holes 13 of the two side frame plates 11 and arranged in parallel, and two locating blocks 16 respectively fixedly mounted on the two second connection tubes 150 at the rear side of the base frame 10.
The back frame 20 comprises two side frame plates 21 arranged in parallel at two sides, each side frame plate 21 having a plurality of mounting holes 22 spaced along the length and a pivot hole 23 on the middle, a plurality of connection tubes 24 respectively connected between the mounting holes 22.of the two side frame plate 21, a pivot axle 25 mounted in the pivot holes 14 of the extension bars 12 of the base frame 10 and the pivot holes 23 of the side frame plates 21 of the back frame 20 to pivotally secure the back frame 20 to the base frame 10, and a locating block 26 affixed to the pivot axle 25 on the middle.
The support members 30 each have a top end respectively provided with a pivot hole 32 and pivotally coupled to the pivot axle 25 of the back frame 20 and stopped at one end of the locating block 26 at the pivot axle 25, and a bottom end coupled to the two second connection tubes 150 of the base frame 10 and respectively stopped against the two distal ends of the locating blocks 16 at the second connection tubes 150 of the base frame 10. Further, connection tubes 31 are connected between the two support members 30.
Referring to
Further, the locating blocks 16 that are affixed to the second connection tubes 150 of the base frame 10 prohibit the support members 30 from sliding along the second connection tubes 150.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
