Safety device for ring-like accessories

An accessory is substantially a ring-like strip with two separated ends and a safety device is connected to the ring-like strip. The safety device includes two connection members which are fixed to the two separated ends of the ring-like strip and each of the connection members has a reception space defined therein. Two magnets are respectively engaged with the two respective reception spaces and magnetically attracted to each other to connect the two separated ends of the ring-like strip. When the strip is tangled or pulled by a sudden force, the two magnets are separated so as to protect the user from being tangled by the strip.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a safety device for ring-like accessories such as a strip for hanging identification card or a bracelet, the safety device includes two magnets which can be separated when the strip or bracelet is pulled by a sudden force.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional ring like accessories such as a strip for hanging identification card generally is cooperated with a ring and a clip is connected to the ring. The clip clips an identification card, magnetic card, or even a key. The strip is put on the user's neck so that the user will not loose the identification card, the magnetic card, or the key. However, the strip might be tangled by objects when the user walks and once the strip is tangled by an object, the strip pulls the user's neck and hurts the user. The bracelet has the similar shortcoming, especially for those loosened bracelet which is not snugly mounted on the user's wrist.

The present invention intends to provide a safety device for ring-like accessory and includes two magnets on two separated ends of the accessory, the two magnets are magnetically attracted to each other when in use, and can be separated by a significant force so that the ring-like accessory does not hurt the user.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a safety device for an accessory which is substantially a ring-like strip with two separated ends. The safety device includes two connection members which are fixed to the two separated ends of the ring-like strip and each of the connection members has a reception space defined therein. Two magnets are respectively engaged with the two respective reception spaces and magnetically attracted to each other to connect the two separated ends of the ring-like strip.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view to show the ring-like strip with the safety device of the present invention and an identification card hangs on the ring-like strip;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view to show the safety device of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view of the connection of the safety device and the strip;

FIG. 5 shows that the safety device is separated when the identification card on the strip is pulled;

FIG. 6 shows the safety device used on a bracelet;

FIG. 7 shows that the two magnets of the safety device on the bracelet are connected to each other, and

FIG. 8 shows that the two magnets of the safety device on the bracelet is pulled to be separated.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, a ring-like accessory such as a substantially ring-like strip 10 includes two separated ends and the safety device the safety device of the present invention are connected to the two separated ends of the ring-like strip 10. A ring 20 is connected to the strip 10 and a clip 30 connected to the ring 20. An identification card 40 is connected to the clip 30. The ring-like strip 10 is put on a user's neck for identification.

The safety device includes two connection members 11 which are fixed to the two separated ends of the ring-like strip 10 and each of the connection members 11 has a reception space 110 defined therein. The two separated ends of the ring-like strip 10 are made to be a tie end or an enlarged end 100 which are fitted into the small end of the two connection members. 11 so that the two tie ends or enlarged ends 100 cannot be disengaged from the connection members 11.

As shown in FIG. 5, if the identification card 40 is pulled suddenly by two rollers as shown, the pulling force is larger than the magnetic force of the two magnets 12, the two magnets 12 are separated so that the ring-like strip 10 will not pull the user toward the dangerous rollers.

FIGS. 6 to 8 show that the safety device is used to bracelet 50 which has two separated ends and two connection members 60 are fixed to the two separated ends. Two magnets 70 are connected to the two connection members 60. When the bracelet 50 is pulled by a large force, the two magnets 70 are separated from each other so that the user's hand is not hurt.

The safety device is easily to manufactured and provides significant safety feature to the users.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
