Clothing pocket

A garment is provided with an area for displaying interactive indicia or images thereon. The interactive display includes at least one image disposed on the outer surface of the garment. A pocket panel having an outside face partially covers the image disposed on the outer surface of the garment. At least one image is disposed on the outer face of the pocket panel and duplicates the image on the garment to depict a person(s) engaged in some type of activity (fishing, bowling, cycling, cheerleading, etc.). The depicted person is shown on the panel wearing apparel appropriate for the particular type of engaged-in activity. The outside panel can be pulled open to reveal the covered image of the person either fully or partially devoid of the wearing apparel depicted on the pocket panel.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 60/996,467, filed Nov. 19, 2007.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention generally relates to wearing apparel. More specifically, the present invention is drawn to a clothing pocket having a section for communicating an interactive display.

2. Description of the Related Art

In recent years, the fashion industry has increasingly produced novelty wearing apparel, which novelty wearing apparel has proven to be popular with the buying public. One of the better sellers of the novelty genre has been clothing that includes an interactive display. There are many related art disclosures that are drawn to interactive clothing features. However, the fashion industry is constantly searching for new ideas and structural clothing combinations to incorporate in the line of interactive clothing to whet the buying public's appetite. Thus, a clothing pocket solving the aforementioned problems is desired.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention comprises a clothing pocket disposed on a garment in an area for displaying interactive indicia or images thereon. The interactive display comprises at least one image disposed on the outer surface of the garment. A pocket panel having an outside face partially covers the image disposed on the outer surface of the garment. At least one image is disposed on the outer face of the pocket panel and duplicates the image on the garment to depict a person(s) engaged in some type of activity (fishing, bowling, cycling, cheerleading, etc.). The depicted person is shown on the panel wearing apparel appropriate for the particular type of engaged-in activity. The outside panel can be pulled open to reveal the covered image of the person devoid of the wearing apparel depicted on the pocket panel.

Accordingly, the clothing pocket presents a garment that incorporates a novel feature for interactive fashion aficionados. The invention provides for improved elements thereof in an arrangement for the purposes described that are inexpensive, dependable and fully effective in accomplishing their intended purposes.

These and other features of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following specification and drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an environmental, perspective view of a clothing pocket according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 is a partial view of a clothing pocket according to the present invention with the outside panel closed.

FIG. 3 is a partial view of the clothing pocket of FIG. 2 with the outside panel peeled back and employing hook and loop fasteners.

FIG. 4 is a partial view of the clothing pocket of FIG. 2 with the outside panel peeled back and employing magnetic fasteners.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Attention is first directed to FIG. 1 wherein a clothing pocket is generally indicated at 10. Pocket 10 is attached to a garment 12. Although illustrated as a collared shirt, it should be noted that garment 12 could be any of many garments worn on the human anatomy (T-shirts, jackets, pants, shorts, etc.). Pocket 10 includes a panel 14 secured to the garment so that the panel 14 at least partially covers image(s) 16 disposed on the outer surface of the garment. Image(s) 16a disposed on the outer face of panel 14 are designed to duplicate image(s) 16 in a manner to show image(s) 16 in activity-related attire. As best seen below, the portions of image(s) 16 covered by panel 14 are devoid of attire.

FIG. 2 is a partial view showing panel 20 partially covering images 18 disposed on a garment 12. As described above, images 18a are disposed on the face of panel 20 and are designed to duplicate images 18 in a manner to show images 18 in activity-related attire. Panel 20 is attached to garment 12 by hook and loop fasteners 24, as shown in FIG. 3 to allow panel 20 to be peeled back to reveal portions of images 18 devoid of attire. In FIG. 4, magnets 25 are positioned on the garment and pocket to effect the attachment.

The images may be disposed on the garment and pocket panel in any conventional manner (decal, embroidery, photo-transfer, etc).

It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, but encompasses any and all embodiments within the scope of the following claims.

Claims

1. An article of interactive clothing, comprising:

a garment having an outer surface;
a first image replicating a person at least partially unclothed disposed on the outer surface of the garment;
a pocket panel attached to the garment, the pocket panel partially covering the first image; and
a second image disposed on the pocket panel, the second image corresponding in form to the first image, but replicating the person clothed.

2. The article of interactive clothing according to claim 1, wherein said pocket panel is permanently attached to said garment.

3. The article of interactive clothing according to claim 1, wherein said pocket panel is removably attached to said garment.

4. An article of interactive clothing, comprising:

a garment having an outer surface;
a first image replicating a person at least partially unclothed disposed on the outer surface of said garment;
a pocket panel attached to the garment, the pocket panel having an exterior surface, the pocket panel partially covering the first image;
means for removably attaching the pocket panel to the garment; and
a second image disposed on the pocket panel, the second image corresponding in form to the first image, but replicating the person fully clothed.

5. The article of interactive clothing according to claim 4, wherein said means for removably attaching comprise mating hook and loop fasteners.

6. The article of interactive clothing according to claim 4, wherein said means for removably attaching comprise magnets.
