Barrel for paint ball guns

A barrel of a paint ball gun includes a bore defined therethrough and the barrel includes a front part and a rear part which is connected with the body of the paint ball gun. The front part has a caliber larger than that of a paint ball and the rear part has a caliber smaller than that of the paint ball. A plurality of spiral grooves are defined in the rear part to increase stability of the paint balls and the distance the paint balls can treavel. The front part includes a plurality of apertures defined through a wall thereof so as to reduce noise when the paint balls shoot.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a barrel for paint ball guns and the barrel includes spiral grooves for increasing the stability of the trajectory of the paint balls and apertures for reducing noise.

(2) Description of the Prior Art

A conventional barrel for paint ball guns includes a smooth bore whose caliber is slightly larger than that of the paint balls so that the paint balls are ejected out from the muzzle of the barrel along a random angle. The paint balls move at high speed and might hurt people especially when the users cannot control the trajectory of the paint balls.

Some manufacturers make rifling grooves in the barrel so as to increase the stability of the paint balls and the distance that the paint balls can be sent. However, the caliber of the bore is larger than that of the paint balls in order to prevent from being jammed and this affects the precise of the trajectory. Besides, there are no muffling apertures in the barrel and the speed that the paint balls move is so high that generates a huge noise which is not welcomed by the users.

The present invention intends to provide a barrel for paint ball guns and the barrel includes a front part and a rear part which includes spiral grooves and the front part includes apertures. By the barrel, the paint balls are guided by the spiral grooves in the rear part and the noise can be reduced by the apertures in the front part of the barrel.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a paint ball gun that comprises a body with a handle and a barrel connected thereto respectively. A hose is connected to the body so as to be connected with a pressurized air bottle. A tube is connected to the body and a hopper is connected to the tube. The barrel includes a bore defined therethrough and the barrel includes a front part and a rear part which is connected with the body. The caliber of the front part is larger than that of a paint ball, and the caliber of the rear part is smaller than that of the paint ball. A plurality of spiral grooves are defined in the rear part.

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a barrel for a paint ball gun wherein the barrel includes spiral grooves at a rear part thereof so as to increase the spinning speed of the paint balls and apertures defined in a front part of the barrel so as to reduce noise.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, 2A and 3, the paint ball gun 1 includes a body 2 with a handle 5 and a barrel 10 of the present invention connected thereto respectively. A hose 8 is connected to the body 5 so as to be connected with a pressurized air bottle 7 which provide pressurized air into the body 2 to shoot paint balls “A” through the barrel 10. A handle 5 is connected to the body 2 and a trigger unit 6 is connected to the handle 5, when the trigger unit 6 is operated, the pressurized air is introduced into the body 2 and the barrel 10. A tube 3 is connected to the body 2 and a hopper 4 connected to the tube 3, the paint balls “A” are stored in the hopper 4 and enter into the body 2 one by one.

The barrel 10 includes a front part “L” and a rear part “R” which is connected with the body 2. A bore 11 is defined through the barrel 10 and the a caliber of the front part “L” is slightly larger than that of the paint balls “A” and the caliber of the rear part “R” is slightly smaller than that of the paint balls “A”. A plurality of spiral grooves 121 are defined in the rear part “R”.

The rear part “R” includes outer threads 122 at a first end thereof where an enlarged opening 123 is defined. The thickness of the rear part “R” between the outer threads 122 and the enlarged opening 123 is thinner than the rest part of the rear part “R”. Therefore, an insertion portion 124 is defined at the rear part “R” between the outer threads 122 and the enlarged opening 123. The insertion portion 124 is inserted into the body 2 which is connected with the outer threads 122 of the rear part “R”. An extension section 125 is formed at a second end of the rear part “R” and includes a smooth inner periphery. The rear part “R” and the extension section 125 form a first section 12 and the front part “L” forms a second section 13 of the barrel 10. A Muzzle 131 is connected to the front part “L” and the apertures 132 are located close to the muzzle 131.

As shown in FIG. 4, when pulling the trigger unit 6, the pressurized air is introduced into the body 2 via the hose 8 and the paint ball “A” in the body 2 is pushed through the barrel 10. The paint ball “A” spins along the spiral grooves 121 in the rear part “R” to obtain sufficient spinning speed and then moves through the extension section 125 and the front part “L” and goes out from the muzzle 131 at high speed. Some of the air releases from the apertures 132 to reduce noise when the paint ball “A” goes out from the muzzle 131. The trajectory of paint ball “A” is straight and the paint ball “A” shoots at high speed toward the target.

FIG. 5 shows that the barrel 10 can be composed of two sections, wherein the first section 12 includes inner threads 20 and the second section 13 includes outer threads 30 which are threadedly connected to the inner threads 20 so as to assemble the barrel 10.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A paint ball gun comprising:

a body and a hose connected to the body so as to be adapted to connect a pressurized air bottle, a handle connected to the body and a trigger unit connected to the handle, a tube connected to the body and a hopper connected to the tube, and
a barrel connected to the body and including a bore defined therethrough, the barrel including a front part and a rear part which is connected with the body, the front part having a caliber larger than that of a paint ball, the rear part having a caliber smaller than that of the paint ball, a plurality of spiral grooves defined in the rear part.

2. The paint ball gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rear part includes an enlarged opening in a first end thereof which is connected to the body.

The paint ball gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rear part includes outer threads at a first end thereof where an enlarged opening is defined, a thickness of the rear part between the outer threads and the enlarged opening is thinner than the rest part of the rear part, an insertion portion is defined at the rear part between the outer threads and the enlarged opening, the insertion portion is inserted into the body.

4. The paint ball gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein an extension section is formed at a second end of the rear part and includes a smooth inner periphery, the rear part and the extension section form a first section and the front part forms a second section.

5. The paint ball gun as claimed in claim 4, wherein the first section and the second section are threadedly connected to each other.

6. The paint ball gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of apertures are defined through a wall of the front part.
