A laser sight is coupled to a gun with a connecting rod; the connecting rod includes a rod body, and an expanding and fixing sleeve having a truncated-cone shape; the rod body is passed through the sleeve, and the sleeve is inserted in a joining hole of the gun; the rod body has a front threaded portion threadedly joined to the laser sight, a middle truncated-cone shaped section, and a male threaded portion adjoining the truncated-cone shaped section; the expanding and fixing sleeve has a lengthways extending gap thereon, and a truncated-cone shaped hole receiving the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body; the taper of the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body matches that of the truncated-cone shaped hole of the sleeve; the sleeve has a female threaded portion in the truncated-cone shaped hole, which is threadedly engaged with the male threaded portion of the rod body.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun, more particularly one, which includes an expanding and fixing sleeve to be capable of coupling a laser sight to any one of various guns with different-diametered joining holes.

2. Brief Description of the Prior Art

Various survival games are exciting, entertaining and getting popular. Players are divided into groups, and compete against each other with BB guns or paint pellet guns in a kind of survival game. In order to be more accurate at shooting with BB guns or paint pellet guns in such a survival game, the players can use the original front sight of their gun or a laser sight, which is usually coupled to the gun in a separable manner by means of a connecting rod.

A currently existing connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun has a threaded portion at a front end, and a truncated-cone shaped insertion portion at a rear end; the laser sight is threadedly joined on the front threaded portion of the connecting rod at a threaded hole thereof while the connecting rod is joined to the gun by means of inserting the truncated-cone shaped insertion portion of the connecting rod in a joining hole of the gun. The above-mentioned connecting rod structure is found to have the following drawbacks:

1. The diameter of the truncated-cone shaped insertion portion of the connecting rod can be changed. Therefore, the connecting rod can only be used to couple the laser sight to those guns that have a joining hole matching the truncated-cone shaped insertion portion thereof; in other words, the connecting rod isn't convenient to use.

2. The connecting rod and the joining hole of the gun can wear after the connecting rod have been joined to and taken down from the gun many times. Consequently, the connecting rod can no longer be fixedly joined to the joining hole of the gun, and the laser sight can move relative to the gun in use.

Therefore, it is a main object of the present invention to provide an improvement on a connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun to overcome the above problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A connecting rod in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention includes a rod body, and an expanding and fixing sleeve with a truncated-cone shape. The rod body is passed through the sleeve while the sleeve is inserted in a joining hole of the gun. The rod body has a front threaded portion joined to the laser sight, a middle truncated-cone shaped section, and a male threaded portion adjoining the truncated-cone shaped section. The expanding and fixing sleeve has a lengthways extending gap thereon, and a truncated-cone shaped hole receiving the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body; the taper of the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body matches that of the truncated-cone shaped hole of the sleeve. The sleeve has a female threaded portion in the truncated-cone shaped hole, which is threadedly engaged with the male threaded portion of the rod body. Therefore, the sleeve can be expanded to closely come into contact with the joining hole of the gun by means of turning the rod body. In other words, the connecting rod can be used to couple the laser sight to any one of various guns with different-diametered joining holes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a preferred embodiment of a connecting rod (a) of a laser sight in the present invention consists of a rod body 1, an expanding and fixing sleeve 2, and a stopping ring 3.

Referring to FIG. 5 as well, the rod body 1 includes a threaded portion 10 at a front end thereof, which is to be connected to a laser sight (b) of a gun; the laser sight (b) has a threaded hole (b1), and the threaded portion 10 of the rod body 1 is threadedly inserted in the threaded hole (b1). The rod body 1 includes a contacting block 11 next to the threaded portion 10 so that the laser sight (b) will be pressed against the contacting block 11 after the rod body 1 is joined to the laser sight (b).

Furthermore, the rod body 1 has a truncated-cone shaped section 12 next to a rear end thereof while the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 has a truncated-cone shape, and a truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 to receive the truncated-cone shaped section 12 of the rod body 1, as shown in FIG. 3; the taper of the truncated-cone shaped section 12 of the rod body 1 matches the taper of the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the sleeve 2.

The expanding and fixing sleeve 2 has a lengthways extending gap 22 thereon, and a female threaded portion 211 in a smaller portion of the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 thereof. Furthermore, the rod body 1 has a male threaded portion 13 adjoining a rear end of the truncated-cone shaped section 12, and an annular groove 14 on a rearmost portion thereof.

Therefore, when the male threaded portion 13 of the rod body 1 is threadedly passed through the female threaded portion 211 of the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2, the truncated-cone shaped section 12 of the rod body 1 will be passed into the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2. Consequently, the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 will be forced to expand; the diameter of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 will increase with the distance the truncated-cone shaped section 12 of the rod body 1 is passed into the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the sleeve.

The stopping ring 3 is C-shaped. In Assembly, the rod body 1 is passed through the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2, with the male threaded portion 13 thereof being threadedly engaged with the female threaded portion 211 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2, and with the annular groove 14 being outside the smaller end of the sleeve 2, and the stopping ring 3 is positioned around the annular groove 14 so as to prevent the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 from separating from the rod body 1.

In use, referring to FIGS. 3 and 5, the connecting rod (a) is inserted in a joining hole (c1) of a gun (c) from the smaller end of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2. Next, the rod body 1 is turned so that the male threaded portion 13 thereof moves further into the female threaded portion 211 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2, and the truncated-cone shaped portion 12 thereof moves inwardly of the truncated-cone shaped through hole 21 of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2. Therefore, the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 increases its diameter so as to closely come into contact with the inner side of the joining hole (c1) of the gun (c). Next, the threaded portion 10 of the rod body 1 of the connecting rod (a) is threadedly inserted in the threaded hole (b1) of the laser sight (b); thus, the laser sight (b) is securely joined on the connecting rod (a). Consequently, the laser sight (b) is firmly coupled to the gun (c) by means of the connecting rod (a).

The diameter of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 will decrease if the rod body 1 is turned in such a direction that the truncated-cone shaped portion 12 thereof moves outwardly of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2; thus, the connecting rod (a) can be separated from the joining hole (cl) of the gun (c). Therefore, the connecting rod (a) of the present invention can be used to couple the laser sight (b) to any one of various guns with different-diametered joining holes. The joining hole (c1) of the gun (c) and the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 can wear, and the connecting rod (a) can become loose after having been used for a long time. To handle this problem, the user only has to turn the rod body 1 so as to further increase the diameter of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2; after the diameter of the expanding and fixing sleeve 2 in increased, the connecting rod (a) can be firmly fixed in the joining hole (c1) of the gun (c) again.

From the above description, it can be seen that the present invention has the following advantages:

1. The expanding and fixing sleeve of the connecting rod of the present invention will increase its diameter so as to closely come into contact with a joining hole of a gun when the rod body is turned so that the male threaded portion thereof moves further into the female threaded portion of the expanding and fixing sleeve, and the truncated-cone shaped portion thereof moves inwardly of the truncated-cone shaped hole of the expanding and fixing sleeve. Therefore, the connecting rod of the present invention can be used to couple a laser sight to any one of various guns with different-diametered joining holes.

2. The joining hole of the gun and the expanding and fixing sleeve can wear to cause the connecting rod of the present invention to become loose after having been used for a long time; to handle this problem, the user only has to turn the rod body of the connecting rod so as to further increase the diameter of the expanding and fixing sleeve; thus, the connecting rod will be firmly joined on the gun again.

Claims

1. Connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun, comprising

a rod body; the rod body including a truncated-cone shaped section; the rod body including a male threaded portion at a first end thereof, which adjoins the truncated-cone shaped section; and
an expanding and fixing sleeve having a truncated-cone shape; the expanding and fixing sleeve having a lengthways extending gap thereon; the expanding and fixing sleeve having a truncated-cone shaped through hole receiving the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body; a taper of the truncated-cone shaped section of the rod body matching a taper of the truncated-cone shaped through hole of the sleeve; the expanding and fixing sleeve having a female threaded portion in the truncated-cone shaped through hole thereof, which is threadedly engaged with the male threaded portion of the rod body.

2. The connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rod body has an annular groove on one end thereof, and a stopping ring is secured around the annular groove.

3. The connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun as claimed in claim 2, wherein the stopping ring is C-shaped.

4. The connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun as claimed in claim 1, wherein the rod body has a second threaded portion on a second end thereof, which points to an opposite direction of the first end of the rod body; the rod body having a contacting block adjoining the second threaded portion thereof.

5. The connecting rod structure of a laser sight of a gun as claimed in claim 4, wherein the rod body has an annular groove on one end thereof, and a stopping ring is secured around the annular groove.
