Golfing equipment carrying device

Abstract

A golfing equipment carrying device includes a base member, a ball holder, a force fit divot tool pouch, a glove attachment means, a force fit tee holder, and an outerwear attachment means. The ball holder, force fit divot tool pouch, glove attachment means, and force fit tee holder are affixed to the front of the base member. A marker holder may also be affixed to the front of the base member, but is not required. The outerwear attachment means is affixed to the rear of the base member in order for the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device to fasten the present invention to his clothing. The disclosed device makes it easier for a golfer to carry golfing accessories while playing a round of golf by freeing the golfer's hands.

Description

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

a. Field of Invention

The invention relates generally to the organization of golfing accessories, particularly tees, balls, divot tools, markers and other items, such as golfing gloves, golf towels and the like. More specifically, the present invention relates to a golfing equipment carrying device for wear by the golfer in order to facilitate his freedom of movement.

b. Description of Related Art

The following patents are representative of the field pertaining to the present invention:

U.S. Pat. No. 6,202,911 B1 to Freer describes a golf accessory organizer to be attached to a golfer's pants or belt. The golf organizer defines various pockets and storage elements therein for receiving a plurality of golf-related articles, such as golf balls, tees, score pencils, divot repair tools, and the like. A hook and loop panel is provided for releasable attachment of a golf towel, a golf glove, a club face cleaning tool, and the like in contact with the organizer. Clips may be provided for easier attachment of the organizer to a golfer's pants or belt, not requiring the belt to be removed before the organizer is attached.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,934,530 to Antczak et al. describes a golf accessory organizer that allows a golfer to comfortably carry and easily access items such as tees, golf balls, golf-gloves, divot tools, ball markers, personal items or other small-type golfing accessories while playing a round of golf. Additionally, the device does not interfere with a golfer's swing or cause discomfort while the golfer is moving. The disclosed device is easy to manufacture, reliable, and lightweight as the main supporting member of the device is primarily manufactured from injection-molded plastic. Integral in this supporting member are tee holders and a ball marker holder and a pouch for holding golf balls that may pivotally hang from the supporting member. Alternatively, a golf ball is retained in a pressure clip hinged to the supporting member. The supporting member may have an area covered with a hook or loop material for holding various small items such as a divot tool, golf glove, or sunglasses.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,423,530 to Alvarez Gonzalez describes a device for the practice of golf that includes a base plate with two clasps to fasten it to the waist. Base has two nipping appendages for two balls which can be extracted easily, and two partitions with holes for both tees, holding a shield with a button, for marking the position of the ball.

U.S. Pat. No. 2,665,830 to Fowler describes, in a golfing accessory, the combination of a supporting body with a plate adapted to be suspended on a user's belt and a plurality of ball clips extending from the lower edge of said plate and turned upwardly and inwardly, the said clips being tensioned and having open slots in their outer faces, a series of integral tensioned clips formed along the upper edge of said plate opposite said ball clips and having depending flanges thereon, and means formed with said plate for attachment thereof to the belt of the wearer.

U.S. Design Pat. No. D550,956 S to Kendrick describes an ornamental design for a golf belt pouch, as shown and described.

U.S. Design Pat. No. D486,636 S to Rudeen et al. describes an ornamental design for a golf accessory device, as shown and described.

U.S. Design Pat. No. D464,193 S to Leung describes an ornamental design for a holder for golf ball and accessories, as shown and described.

U.S. Design Pat. No. 332,176 to Mueller describes an ornamental design for a golf accessory holder, as shown.

Notwithstanding the prior art, the present invention is neither taught nor rendered obvious thereby.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The present invention golfing equipment carrying device includes: a base member, an outerwear attachment means, a plurality of force fit tee pouches, a divot tool force fit pouch, at least one ball holder, and a glove attachment means. The base member has a front and a back, and has at least a semi-flexible center area for at least partial adaptability to the waist area of a torso. The base member does not have a specified shape or size and can be decorated with any color, embossing, or stitching that is available in the material that is chosen. The base member retains at least a semi-flexible center, but in some manner conforms ergonomically to the golfer's body and functionality. The outerwear attachment means is connected to the base member and can be comprised of a series of belt loops or clips of any width or spacing so long as the attachment means secure the golfing equipment device to the golfer's outerwear. For example, the outerwear attachment device may consist of three 1″ wide clips spaced 4″ apart or two 3″ wide loops spaced 3″ apart. The plurality of force fit tee pouches are located on the front of the base member adapted to receive tees within an angle range of about 75° to about 105° from horizontal. The force fit tee pouches are positioned vertically on the front of the base member have no specific number and may be attached to the base member by any means. The force fit tee pouches have closed bottoms to eliminate tee tip exposure. The divot tool force fit pouch is located on the front of the base member. Like the base member, the divot tool force fit pouch can be decorated with any color, embossing, or stitching that is available in the selected material. However, the divot tool force fit pouch must maintain a closed bottom in order to prevent the golfer from injuring himself on the divot tool's points. This divot tool force fit pouch can be affixed to the base member using a variety of means including, but not limited to, stitching, rivets, heat welding. At least one ball holder is located on the front of the base member. The ball holder can be positioned anywhere on the front of the base member and attached through a variety of means so long as there is at least one ball holder of an appropriate size to contain a single golf ball. The glove attachment means located on the front of the base member. The glove attachment means can secure a golfer's glove in a variety of ways. For example, the glove attachment means can secure a golfer's glove by using a panel of hook and loop fastener as a means of attaching the hook and loop fastener found on golfer's gloves to the panel located on the golfing equipment carrying device. Additionally, the glove attachment means can secure a golfer's glove by employing a snap fastener that can interlock the wrist strap on the golfer's glove to the glove attachment means.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the base member is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the ball holder is selected from the group consisting of a synthetic netting holder, an elastic holder, a force fit holder and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the outerwear attachment means is selected from the group consisting of belt loops, clips and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the tee pouches are positioned vertically.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the glove attachment means is selected from the group consisting of a hook and loop fastener, a loop, a snap fastener and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the outerwear attachment means is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic, elastic and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the force fit tee pouches are made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the divot tool pouch is selected from the group of materials consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the marker holder is attached to the front of the base member.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the marker holder is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

In some embodiments of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device, the marker holder is selected from the group consisting of a synthetic netting holder, an elastic holder, a force fit holder, straps and any combination thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS

Referring now in detail to the drawings wherein like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, various embodiments of the present invention are shown.

FIG. 1 is a front view of an embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 27, FIG. 2 is a rear view of the embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 27 shown in FIG. 1. These two Figures are discussed collectively with the understanding that not all reference numerals are in all Figures.

Present invention golfing equipment carrying device 27 has a base member 29 made of leather, fabric, plastic or other appropriate material so long as the center is made of at least semi-flexible material. FIG. 1 shows the present invention golfing equipment carrying device with a base member consisting of stitched leather. Additionally, there are five components on front view of golfing equipment carrying device 27, namely, ball holder 31, a force fit divot tool pouch 35, marker holder 33, a force fit tee holder 39, and a glove attachment means 37. As shown in FIG. 1, ball holder 31 is T-shaped and constructed of stitched leather. The force fit divot tool pouch 35 is shown in FIG. 1 as being constructed of stitched leather, but more importantly, must be enclosed at the bottom of the pouch in order to prevent the divot tool from injuring the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device. Marker holder 33 in FIG. 1 is also constructed of stitched leather, matching the base member 29. The force fit tee pouches 39 can be made of leather, fabric or plastic (and in FIG. 1 are shown as stitched leather to match base member 29) as long as the bottom of the pouch or pouches are enclosed in order to prevent the tee's tip from being exposed. The outerwear attachment means 37 in FIG. 1 is portrayed as a round hook and loop panel. The rear view of golfing equipment carrying device 27 shown in FIG. 2 illustrates the outerwear attachment means 41 as a metal clip to slide onto a belt or the top of a golfer's pants and affixed to the base member 29. Illustrations of a tee 49, marker 47, golf ball 45, and divot tool 43 have been included in order to show proper placement of these items and also have been included for clarity. Also, it should be noted that the FIG. 1 present invention embodiment is meant for a right handed golfer. For lefties, it would be preferred to create the mirror image of FIG. 1 so that the items are conveniently positioned, e.g., tees toward front, when worn on the left side.

FIG. 3 is a front view of another embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 1, FIG. 4 is a rear view of the embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 1 shown in FIG. 3. Present invention golfing equipment carrying device 1 has a base member 13 made of leather, fabric, plastic or other appropriate material and in FIG. 3 is shown as plastic. Additionally, there are five components on front view of golfing equipment carrying device 1, namely, ball holder 3, a force fit divot tool pouch 7, marker holder 5, a force fit tee holder 9, and a glove attachment means 11. As shown in FIG. 3, the ball holder 3 is constructed of an opaque plastic force fit pouch. The force fit divot tool pouch 21 is shown in FIG. 3 as being constructed of plastic, but more importantly, must be enclosed at the bottom of the pouch in order to prevent the divot tool from injuring the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device. Marker holder 5 in FIG. 3 is also constructed of plastic, matching the base member 13. The force fit tee pouches 9 can be made of leather, fabric or plastic (and in FIG. 3 are shown as stitched leather to match base member 13) as long as the bottom of the pouch or pouches are enclosed in order to prevent the tee's tip from being exposed. The outerwear attachment means 11 in FIG. 3 is portrayed as an elongated hook and loop panel. The rear view of golfing equipment carrying device 1 shown in FIG. 4 illustrates the outerwear attachment means 15 as a series of plastic belt loops to slide onto a belt and affixed to the base member 29. Illustrations of a tee 23, marker 19, golf ball 17, and divot tool 21 have been included in order to show proper placement of these items and also have been included for clarity.

FIG. 5 is a front view of another embodiment of a present invention golfing equipment carrying device 51, FIG. 6 is a rear view of the embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 51 shown in FIG. 5. Present invention golfing equipment carrying device 51 has a base member 53 made of leather, fabric, plastic or other appropriate material and in FIG. 3 is shown as any plastic with a semi-flexible center. Additionally, there are five components on front view of golfing equipment carrying device 51, namely, ball holder 55, a force fit divot tool pouch 67, marker holder 71, a force fit tee holder 63, and a glove attachment means 61. As shown in FIG. 5, the ball holder 55 is constructed of synthetic netting. The force fit divot tool pouch 67 is shown in FIG. 5 as being constructed of plastic, but more importantly, must be enclosed at the bottom of the pouch in order to prevent the divot tool from injuring the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device. A T-shaped marker holder 71 in FIG. 3 is also constructed of plastic, matching the base member 13. The force fit tee pouches 63 can be made of leather, fabric or plastic (and in FIG. 3 are shown as plastic to match base member 53) as long as the bottom of the pouch or pouches are enclosed in order to prevent the tee's tip from being exposed. The outerwear attachment means 61 in FIG. 5 is portrayed as a loop of plastic with a snap fastener. The rear view of golfing equipment carrying device 51 shown in FIG. 5 illustrates the outerwear attachment means 65 as a metal clip to slide onto a belt or a golfer's pants and affixed to the base member 53. Illustrations of a tee 73, marker 71, golf ball 69, and divot tool 67 have been included in order to show proper placement of these items and also have been included for clarity.

FIG. 7 is a front view of another embodiment of a present invention golfing equipment carrying device 75, FIG. 8 is a rear view of the embodiment of the present invention golfing equipment carrying device 75 shown in FIG. 7. These two Figures are discussed collectively with the understanding that not all reference numerals are in all Figures.

Present invention golfing equipment carrying device 75 has a base member 77 made of leather, fabric, plastic or other appropriate material and in FIG. 7 is shown as any fabric with a semi-flexible center. Additionally, there are four components on front view of golfing equipment carrying device 75, namely, ball holder 79, a force fit divot tool pouch 81, a force fit tee holder 85, and a glove attachment means 83. As shown in FIG. 7, the ball holder 79 is constructed of a fabric drawstring bag. The force fit divot tool pouch 81 is shown in FIG. 7 as being constructed of fabric, but more importantly, must be enclosed at the bottom of the pouch in order to prevent the divot tool from injuring the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device. The force fit tee pouches 85 can be made of leather, fabric or plastic (and in FIG. 7 are shown as fabric to match base member 77) as long as the bottom of the pouch or pouches are enclosed in order to prevent the tee's tip from being exposed. The outerwear attachment means 83 in FIG. 7 is portrayed as a square panel of hook and loop material. The rear view of golfing equipment carrying device 75 shown in FIG. 7 illustrates the outerwear attachment means 87 as a long fabric belt loop to slide onto a golfer's belt while affixed to the base member 77. Illustrations of a tee 93, golf ball 91, and divot tool 89 have been included in order to show proper placement of these items and also have been included for clarity.

FIG. 9 is a front view of another embodiment of a present invention golfing equipment carrying device 127 that is smaller than the device shown in FIG. 1 and is thus adapted for a child.

Present invention golfing equipment carrying device 127 has a base member 129 made of leather, fabric, plastic or other appropriate material so long as the center is made of at least semi-flexible material. FIG. 9 shows the present invention golfing equipment carrying device with a base member consisting of stitched leather. Additionally, there are four components on front view of golfing equipment carrying device 127, namely, ball holder 131, a force fit divot tool pouch 135, a force fit tee holder 139, and a glove attachment means 137. As shown in FIG. 9, ball holder 131 is T-shaped and constructed of stitched leather, imitation leather or fabric. The force fit divot tool pouch 135 is shown in FIG. 9 as being constructed of stitched leather, imitation leather or fabric, but more importantly, must be enclosed at the bottom of the pouch in order to prevent the divot tool from injuring the wearer of the golfing equipment carrying device. The force fit tee pouches 39 may be made of leather, fabric or plastic as long as the bottom of the pouch are enclosed in order to prevent the tee 129 from being exposed. The glove attachment means 137 in FIG. 9 is portrayed as a round hook and loop panel. The rear of golfing equipment carrying device 127 may have a loop, loops, or pants. Illustrations of a tee 129, golf ball 145, and divot tool 143 have been included in order to show proper placement of these items and also have been included for clarity.

Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail herein with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited to those particular embodiments, and that various changes and modifications may be effected therein by one skilled in the art without departing from the scope or spirit of the invention as defined in the appended claims.

Claims

1. A golfing equipment carrying device, which comprises:

a) a base member having a front and a back, and having at least a semi-flexible center area for at least partial adaptability to the waist area of a torso;

b) outerwear attachment means connected to said base member;

c) a plurality of force fit tee pouches located on said front of said base member adapted to receive tees within an angle range of about 75° to about 105° from horizontal, said force fit tee pouches having closed bottoms to eliminate tee tip exposure;

d) a divot tool force fit pouch located on said front of said base member;

e) at least one ball holder located on said front of said base member; and,

f) a glove attachment means located on said front of said base member.

2. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said base member is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

3. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said ball holder is selected from the group consisting of a synthetic netting holder, an elastic holder, a force fit holder and any combination thereof.

4. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said outerwear attachment means is selected from the group consisting of belt loops, clips and any combination thereof.

5. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said tee pouches are positioned vertically.

6. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said glove attachment means is selected from the group consisting of a hook and loop fastener, a loop, a snap fastener and any combination thereof.

7. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said outerwear attachment means is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic, elastic and any combination thereof.

8. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said force fit tee pouches are made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

9. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein said divot tool pouch is selected from the group of materials consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

10. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 1 wherein a marker holder is attached to said front of said base member.

11. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said marker holder is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

12. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said marker holder is selected from the group consisting of a synthetic netting holder, an elastic holder, a force fit holder, straps and any combination thereof.

13. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said base member is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

14. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said ball holder is selected from the group consisting of a synthetic netting holder, an elastic holder, a force fit holder and any combination thereof.

15. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said outerwear attachment means is selected from the group consisting of belt loops, clips and any combination thereof.

16. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said tee pouches are positioned vertically.

17. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said glove attachment means is selected from the group consisting of a hook and loop fastener, a loop, a snap fastener and any combination thereof.

18. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said outerwear attachment means is made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic, elastic and any combination thereof.

19. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said force fit tee pouches are made of materials selected from the group consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.

20. The golfing equipment carrying device of claim 10 wherein said divot tool pouch is selected from the group of materials consisting of leather, fabric, plastic and any combination thereof.
