Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a manhole cover that can prevent the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect.

More particularly, the present invention is a supplement of Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0356787, which is already filed by the present applicant. A manhole cover of the present invention is made of synthetic resin such as engineering plastics, ductile cast iron (FCD), cast iron (FC), etc. and includes a display part for showing various displays such as a firm name, a trademark, a slogan, a logo in a side of a manhole top plate by an indentor or a producer, walls that are vertically formed in four edges of the manhole top plate, and a space part that is provided in a lower part of the display part to smoothly operate a gate.

BACKGROUND ART

As is well-known, a conventional manhole cover for preventing the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect is generally separately composed of a manhole top plate (manhole cover), a drainage guide plate, and a gate, and the manhole top plate is made of cast iron, and the drainage guide plate and the gate are made of sheet zinc, etc.

When assembling, the manhole top part is provided in a jaw part of a frame that is provided around a top hole of the manhole in a state where the gate is assembled in the drainage guide plate and a manhole cover is provided in the top part of the manhole.

However, as described above, the conventional manhole cover for preventing the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect is separately composed of a manhole cover, a drainage guide plate, and a gate, whereby an excessive manufacturing cost is required and an installation process is troublesome and inconvenient. The largest problem is that as various foreign substances such as sands, garbage, leaves, and branches are introduced at an inflow process of dirty water, rainwater, or so on, they are accumulated in the drainage guide plate. Accordingly, the gate is not smoothly operated and thus a bad smell and a harmful insect are introduced.

Furthermore, as described above, if foreign substances are accumulated, the flow of dirty water or rainwater is obstructed. Accordingly, if heavy rain pours, drainage is not smoothly performed and flowing backward is generated, whereby management of the manhole is difficult and it is not good from a point of a fine view.

Therefore, the present applicant has developed a manhole cover for solving the above-mentioned problems and it is registered as Korean Utility Model Registration No. 0356787.

However, the registered manhole cover does not have a display part for showing various displays such as a firm name, a trademark, a slogan and it is not suitable for a manhole in which a depth thereof is not deep as an edge of the manhole top plate is formed to provide in a manhole frame.

DISCLOSURE Technical Problem

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to solve at least the problems and disadvantages of the background art.

An object of the present invention is to provide a manhole cover that can prevent the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect.

Technical Solution

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a manhole cover that is made of synthetic resin such as engineering plastic, ductile cast iron, cast iron and in which a manhole top plate and a drainage guide plate are integrally formed. As a size of the drainage guide plate is formed to be larger than an entire size of a plurality of drainage holes formed in the manhole top plate, drainage is very smoothly performed. As a gate that is closed by a weight while opening by a water pressure and flowing water is provided at an end of the drainage guide plate, walls are vertically formed in four edges of the manhole top plate. A display part for showing various displays such as a firm name, a trademark, or a slogan is provided in one side of the manhole top plate. A space part is provided in a lower part of the display part. The manhole cover for preventing the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect by stably opening and closing the gate within the space part is provided.

Advantageous Effects

As described above, according to the present invention, as a manhole cover is made with injection molding of synthetic resin, it is easily manufactured and easily handled due to light weight and it may be manufactured with various colors and provides a fine view to a city. Furthermore, as a manhole top plate 12 and a drainage guide 13 are integrally formed, they are conveniently constructed and a gate 15 can be always stably closed, so that the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect can be prevented. Furthermore, as the drainage guide 13 is inclined, drainage is performed very smoothly. Therefore, the present invention is very hygienic and useful.

The invention will be described in detail with reference to the following drawings in which like numerals refer to like elements.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view illustrating an embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view illustrating an embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view illustrating an embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view illustrating another embodiment of the present invention; and

FIG. 5 is a longitudinal cross-sectional view illustrating still another embodiment of the present invention.

BEST MODE

Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

A manhole cover for preventing the inflow of a bad smell and a harmful insect is constructed as follows.

As described in FIGS. 1 to 3, a manhole cover 1 of the present invention includes a manhole top plate 12 that has a plurality of drainage holes 11; a drainage guide plate 13 that is integrally formed in a bottom part of the manhole top plate 12 or that is integrally formed by assembling after separately formed and that have an one-way exit; hinges 19 for mounting in both sides of a bottom surface of the manhole top plate 12 in both sides of the top part; and a gate 15 that is provided to open and close an exit as dirty water or rainwater is discharged by operating with an exit inclined surface 14 of the drainage guide plate 13.

The manhole cover 1 further includes a display part 20 for showing various displays such as a firm name, a trademark, a phone number, or so on by extending a side of the manhole top part 12 in which one side, i.e., the gate 15 of the manhole top plate 12 is provided; a space part 21 for fully stably opening the gate in a lower part of the display part 20; and walls 22 that are vertically formed with an equal height in four edges of the manhole top plate 12, wherein a wall 22′?in an exit direction of the drainage guide plate 13 among the walls 22 is separately manufactured (for convenience of a forming process) in a forming process of the manhole cover and fastened with a fastening member such as a screw or is manufactured in one body with resin welding or an adhesion method, thereby completing the manhole cover 1.

On the other hand, in the manhole cover 1, a normal reinforcing member (not shown) can be formed to be further protruded outwardly between drainage holes 11 of a bottom surface of the manhole top plate 12 or on a bottom surface of the drainage guide plate 13 so as to maintain higher strength. In this case, a protruded shape or a protruded direction of the reinforcing member is formed to easily escape from the mold. The reinforcing member has a known construction for strength reinforcement and material saving in an injection molding product and thus description thereof will be omitted.

Furthermore, the drainage guide plate 13 may be formed in a curved shape or an inclined surface shape and have a large inclination angle so as to discharge rapidly and smoothly.

Furthermore, in a case where a size of the manhole cover 1 is large, reinforcing barrier ribs (not shown) may be formed in one body between the manhole top plate 12 and the drainage guide plate 13 by avoiding a position of the drainage hole 11.

FIG. 4 shows another embodiment of the present invention.

In the embodiment, as the drainage guide plate 13′ that is integrally formed in the bottom of the manhole top plate 12 is formed for two-way drainage, drainage can be more rapidly performed. At this time, although a center part of the drainage guide plate 13′ is formed to adhere to the bottom of the manhole top plate 12 or the center part is formed to separate a little from the bottom, there is no problem in two-way drainage. However, only when the drainage guide plate 13′ is formed to be inclined in two-way, drainage can be smoothly performed.

Furthermore, as described in FIGS. 1 to 3, as the gates 15 are provided in each of both exits of the drainage guide plate 13′, the gates are individually operated. Furthermore, because the gate is made of metal such as stainless steel or synthetic resin, it is not corroded and has excellent durability.

As described in FIG. 5, it is preferable that a hooking protruded part 31 is formed in a predetermined position of both sides of the manhole cover 1 and a hooking recessed part 32 is formed in a manhole frame 3 of a position corresponding to a position of the hooking protruded part 31. This is because it is to previously prevent from not performing its original function by being separated the manhole cover 1 from the manhole frame 3 or opening when rainwater or dirty water flows backward in a manhole due to a pouring rain within a short time as in the rainy season.

Specifically, it is preferable to have a short protrusion length so that the hooking protruded part 31 is smoothly inserted in the manhole frame 3. The hooking protruded part 31 may be formed in various shapes such as a circular shape and an oval shape, in addition to a shape shown in FIG. 5 and one or more hooking protruded part 31 may be formed in both sides of the manhole cover 1 and the manhole frame 3.

Therefore, the change of a shape, a size, the number, etc. of the hooking protruded part 31 and the hooking recessed part 32 is included within the scope of the present invention.

According to the present invention having the above-mentioned construction, an indentor or a producer can provide a more distinguishable manhole cover 1 by forming (or may be attached by separately forming) a display such as a desired trademark, a firm name, various slogans, or a telephone number in a manufacturing process in a display part 20 that is provided in one side of the manhole top plate 12.

Furthermore, the drainage guide plate 13 is largely formed to entirely cover the bottom of the manhole top plate 12 and an exit of the drainage guide plate 13 is also very large to rapidly discharge rainwater or dirty water that passes the drainage hole 11. Accordingly, if various foreign substances such as leaves or branches pass only the drainage hole 11, they can be naturally discharged. Therefore, the drainage guide plate 13 is not blocked and has very good safety.

Specifically, as the manhole cover according to the present invention is manufactured with injection molding of synthetic resin (the manhole frame is manufactured with injection molding of synthetic resin), its weight is much smaller than that of a manhole cover that is made of general cast iron. Accordingly, the manhole cover is conveniently handled and carried, very conveniently constructed, and the appearance of a city may be beautifully maintained because it may be formed with various colors.

The drainage guide plate 13′ for simultaneously performing drainage in two-way is shown in FIG. 4 for showing another embodiment of the present invention. In this case, as drainage is simultaneously performed in two-way, it is very rapidly performed.

The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
