Lay Me

Lay-Me was created for the purpose of screening the top portion of various sized drinking beverage containers. In return, it acts as a barrier, screening indoor and outdoor insects from getting into out favorite beverage. I have invented Lay-Me, to be a NEW and useful idea in the art to which it pertains.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Lay-Me is a decorative 9 inch circular shaped screening mesh for beverage containers. It is specifically designed to screen indoor and outdoor insects from coming into contact with the inside beverage of cups/glasses. For example; beer pilsner, goblets, mugs, flute, stem drinking glasses, and stemless champagne glasses. With this invention, consumers will be able to take their Lay-Me, place it over the top portion of various sized drinking glasses as a screen, and enjoy their drink without indoor or outdoor insects having invaded the beverage in the glass.

A Lay-Me is a manufactured article which is made from 9 inch various colored nylon screening mesh and is circular-shaped to cover the top portion of drinking glasses and mugs.

Lay-Me drapes from the top portion with a variety of embellishments and gem stones. Lay-Me offers an ideal blend of luxury and everyday practicality. I can add (optional) a ⅜″ grommet for drinking straws.

Lay-Me screens indoor and outdoor insects without adding chemicals to the environment.

For outdoor or indoor entertainment, this invention, Lay-Me, provides an immediate line of defense against unwelcome pests.

As a result of attempting to relax and enjoy the outdoors, I started noticing tiny insects flying around and inside my favorite drink. This occurrence prompted me to create my own solution, Lay-Me.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Lay-Me is a 9 inch circular shaped decorative screening mesh, designed specifically to screen indoor and outdoor insects from coming in contact with the interior of our favorite beverage.

(FIG. 2) depicts Lay-Me (plain view) placed and draped over drinking glass.

(FIG. 3) depicts (optional) ⅜ inch grommet for drinking straw.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The object, Lay-Me (FIG. 1) is formed by cutting a 9 inch circle from nylon screening mesh. Place mesh on a durable flat surface, using various embellishments and a hot glue gun with hot glue stick, or fabric glue for certain embellishments. Place embellishments and gem stones in preferred arrangement, glue and place.

Optional ⅜ inch grommet (FIG. 3) is for insertion of drinking straw; place Lay-Me over drinking glass, mark spot, using a hole punch, snap and grommet setter. Press a ⅜ inch grommet in the center of Lay-Me.

(FIG. 2) The sophisticated Lay-Me offers an ideal blend of luxury and everyday practicality.

Although the invention has been described with references to certain specific embodiments, and various modifications, these variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as outlined in the description.

1. What I, Gitonia Velise Morrison-McBride, claim as my invention is/are Lay-Me, which is decorative and designed to screen the top-portion of various sized drinking containers in order to prevent indoor and outdoor insects from invading the interior of your favorite drinking beverages.
