FENCING SYSTEM FOR CAMPFIRE

A fencing system for a campfire includes a plurality of holding members, a plurality of posts and a plurality of fencing members. Each holding member of the plurality of holding members includes a base member and a lip extending upwardly from a portion of the base member defining a cavity between the base member and the lip. The plurality of holding members is adapted to be placed on a surface around the campfire. Further, each post of the plurality of posts is adapted to be disposed vertically into the cavity of the each holding member of the plurality of holding members. Furthermore, each fencing member of the plurality of fencing members is disposed horizontally between a pair of posts of the plurality of posts and the each fencing member is removably attached to the pair of posts.

CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present disclosure claims priority under 35 United States Code, Section 119 on the U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 61/088,462 filed on Aug. 13, 2008 the disclosure of which is incorporated by reference.

FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE

The present disclosure generally relates to fencing systems, and more particularly to a fencing system for a campfire.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Occasions such as parties, get-togethers, vacations, and other social gatherings are typically inseparable parts of peoples' lives. These occasions are generally equipped with campfires, which are enjoyed by attendees at these occasions. In such occasions, the campfires may project a threat to the security of children and pets, as a child or a pet may move close to the campfires without being cognizant about the damages the campfires may cause to them.

To keep children and pets away from the campfires, people have been using conventional fences around the campfires. However, the conventional fences are quite inconvenient to use due to their bulky and complex structural configuration. Further, the conventional fences are expensive and are difficult to set up around the campfires. Furthermore, the conventional fences are not easy to transport from one place to another due to the bulky and complex structural configuration.

Accordingly, there exists a need for a system used for fencing a campfire, such that the system is light weight, simple in structural configuration and inexpensive. Further, there is a need for a system for fencing the campfire that is easy to set up around the campfire and is portable.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the general purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a system for fencing a campfire, and to include all advantages of the prior art, and to overcome the drawbacks inherent in the prior art.

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a system for fencing a campfire, such that the system is of light weight and have a simple structural configuration.

Another object of the present disclosure is to provide a cost effective system for fencing a campfire.

Yet another object of the present disclosure is to provide a system for fencing a campfire that is convenient to use and is easy to set up around the campfire.

To achieve the above objects, in an aspect of the present disclosure, a fencing system for a campfire is provided. The fencing system includes a plurality of holding members, a plurality of posts and a plurality of fencing members. Each holding member of the plurality of holding members includes a base member and a lip extending upwardly from a portion of the base member for defining a cavity between the base member and the lip. The plurality of holding members is adapted to be placed on a surface around the campfire. Further, each post of the plurality of posts is adapted to be disposed vertically into the cavity of the each holding member of the plurality of holding members. Furthermore, each fencing member of the plurality of fencing members is disposed horizontally between a pair of posts of the plurality of posts and the each fencing member is removably attached to the pair of posts.

As disclosed, the fencing system includes the plurality of holding members, the plurality of posts and the plurality of fencing members. The plurality of holding member, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of fencing members are simple in structure and are made of durable material, thereby providing the fencing system that is light weight, cost effective, and simple in structural configuration. Further, such simple structural configuration of the fencing system facilitates users to conveniently set up the fencing system around the campfire. Furthermore, as the plurality of holding member, the plurality of posts, and the plurality of fencing members are removably attached with one another, the fencing system is rendered portable.

This together with the other aspects of the present disclosure, along with the various features of novelty that characterized the present disclosure, is pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed hereto and forms a part of the present disclosure. For a better understanding of the present disclosure, its operating advantages, and the specified object attained by its uses, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DISCLOSURE

For a thorough understanding of the present disclosure, reference is to be made to the following detailed description, including the appended claims, in connection with the above-described drawings. Although the present disclosure is described in connection with exemplary embodiments, the present disclosure is not intended to be limited to the specific forms set forth herein. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but these are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present disclosure. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology used herein is for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting. The use of “including,” “comprising,” or “having” and variations thereof herein is meant to encompass the items listed thereafter and equivalents thereof as well as additional items.

The term “first,” “second,” and the like, herein do not denote any order, elevation or importance, but rather are used to distinguish placement of one element over another. Further, the terms, “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.

Referring now to FIG. 1A and FIG. 1B, a fencing system 100 is illustrated, in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIG. 1A illustrates a perspective view of an arrangement having the fencing system 100 for a campfire 102, and FIG. 1B illustrates a disassembled view of the fencing system 100. The fencing system 100 includes a plurality of holding members 104, at least one spike 105, a plurality of posts 106, and a plurality of fencing members 108. Hereinafter, the plurality of holding members 104 will be collectively referred to as “the holding members 104” and an individual holding member of the plurality of holding members 104 will be referred to as “the holding member 104.” Further, hereinafter the plurality of posts 106 will be collectively referred to as “the posts 106” and an individual post of the plurality of posts 106 will be referred to as “the post 106.” Furthermore, hereinafter the plurality of fencing members 108 will be collectively referred to as “the fencing members 108” and an individual fencing member of the plurality of fencing members 108 will be referred to as “the fencing member 108.”

Moreover, FIGS. 1A and 1B show two pairs of holding members 104, two pairs of the posts 106, and two pairs of the fencing members 108 for an exemplary representation of the fencing system 100, however, it would be evident to a person skilled in the art that the fencing system 100 may include any number of holding members 104, posts 106, and fencing members 108 without deviating from the scope of the present disclosure.

The holding member 104 includes a base member 110 and a lip 112. The lip 112 extends upwardly from a portion 114 of the base member 110 and defines a cavity 116 (shown in FIG. 1B) between the base member 110 and the lip 112. Further, the base member 110 of the holding member 104 comprises at least one opening 115. The at least one spike 105 such as a nail, may be driven or hammered into the at least one opening 115 for removably securing the holding member 104 on a surface ‘S’ as shown in FIG. 1A. It will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the at least one spike 105 may be obviated in the event that the surface ‘S’ is substantially impenetrable, such as in the case of a concrete surface. The holding member 104 may be made of any other suitable material known in the art, such as metal. Further, in order to create a fencing arrangement around the campfire 102, the holding members 104 may be placed on the surface ‘S’, such as the ground surface around the campfire 102.

Additionally, as shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B, the post 106 is a longitudinal bar such as a longitudinal piece of wood or light metal. The post 106 is shown as cylindrical in shape for the exemplary purposes only and it would be evident to a person skilled in the art that the post 106 may assume any other shape or configuration. The post 106 may be disposed into the cavity 116 of the holding member 104 such that the post 106 snuggly fits into the cavity 116 of the holding member 104. It would be apparent to those ordinary skilled in the art that each holding member 104 of the holding member 104 is capable of receiving the posts 106 such that the posts 106 may stand vertically within the cavity 116 of the each holding member 104.

Further, two pairs of fencing members 108 are shown in FIGS. 1A and 1B. In this embodiment of the present disclosure, the fencing member 108 includes at least one longitudinal bar such as a pair of longitudinal bars 108a (hereinafter referred to as ‘the longitudinal bars 108a’). Each of the pair of longitudinal bars 108a may be made of a longitudinal piece of plastic or a metal. Each of the longitudinal bars 108a may have a rectangular or a circular cross section, without deviating from the scope of the present disclosure. The longitudinal bars 108a may be disposed horizontally between a pair of posts 106. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, the longitudinal bars 108a may have protrusions (such as a male member) extending from both longitudinal ends of the longitudinal bars 108a, and such protrusions may snuggly fit into corresponding openings (such as a female member) configured in the pair of posts 106. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the longitudinal bars 108a may be removably attached to the pair of posts 106 using thumb screws.

The longitudinal bars 108a may be removably attached to the pair of posts 106 at appropriate portions of the pair of posts, such that the longitudinal bars 108a may preclude any unwanted entry to the campfire 102. Accordingly, the longitudinal bars 108a may be connected to top and bottom portions of the pair of posts 106 and are adjustable on the pair of posts 106. As shown in FIG. 1A, when the fencing members 108 are disposed horizontally between the posts 106, the fencing arrangement is defined around the campfire 102 as the posts 106 disposed in the holding members 104 are placed around the campfire 102. Although, FIGS. 1A and 1B show a pair of longitudinal bars such as the longitudinal bars 108a being disposed between a single pair of posts 106, however a person with ordinary skill in the art would appreciate that any number of such longitudinal bars 108a may be disposed between the pair of posts 106 without deviating from the scope of the disclosure. Further, in another embodiment of the present disclosure, the fencing members 104 may be of shapes other than the longitudinal bars 108a, which will be described in conjunction with FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B.

Referring now to FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B, a fencing system 200 is illustrated, in accordance with another embodiment of the present disclosure. Specifically, FIG. 2A illustrates a perspective view of an arrangement having the fencing system 200 for a campfire 202, and FIG. 2B illustrates a disassembled view of the fencing system 200. The fencing system 200 includes a plurality of holding members 204, at least one spike 205, a plurality of posts 206, and a plurality of fencing members 208.

The fencing system 200 is similar to the fencing system 100 (of FIGS. 1A and 1B) with an exception that each fencing member 208 comprises a lattice 208a instead of longitudinal bar 108a of the fencing member 108. Specifically, the holding members 204, the spike 205, and the posts 206 of the fencing system 200 are similar to the holding members 104, the spike 105, and the posts 106, respectively, of the fencing system 100. Accordingly, the description of various components of the fencing system 200, such as the holding members 204 and the posts 206 is omitted herein for the sake of brevity of description.

In this embodiment of the present disclosure, the fencing member 208 of the fencing system 200 comprises the lattice 208a. The lattice 208a may be disposed horizontally between a pair of posts 206. In one embodiment, the lattice 208a may be removably attached to the pair of posts 206 through suitable means known in the art. It would be evident to a person skilled in the art that although FIGS. 2A and 2B show two pairs of fencing members 208 for the exemplary purpose and the number of the fencing members 208 may vary. Further, it would be evident to a person skilled in the art that the fencing member 208 could be of any other structure that may be removably attached between the pair of posts 206.

The present disclosure provides a fencing system, such as the fencing system 100 and the fencing system 200, which offer the following advantages. The fencing system has simple structural configuration that makes the fencing system cost effective and convenient to assemble around the campfire 202. Further, the holding members such as the holding members 104 and 204 help in holding and supporting the fencing systems around the campfire. Moreover, the fencing system may be disassembled, which allows the fencing system to be conveniently transported from one place to another and to be stored conveniently at a confined place, thereby occupying less space.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present disclosure have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the present disclosure to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the present disclosure and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the present disclosure and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated. It is understood that various omission and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstance may suggest or render expedient, but such are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present disclosure.

Claims

1. A fencing system for a campfire, the fencing system comprising:

a plurality of holding members, each holding member of the plurality of holding members comprising a base member and a lip extending upwardly from a portion of the base member defining a cavity between the base member and the lip, the plurality of holding members adapted to be placed on a surface around the campfire;
a plurality of posts, each post of the plurality of posts adapted to be disposed vertically into the cavity of the each holding member of the plurality of holding members; and
a plurality of fencing members, each fencing member of the plurality of fencing members adapted to be disposed horizontally between a pair of posts of the plurality of posts, wherein the each fencing member is removably attached to the pair of posts.

2. The fencing system of claim 1, wherein each fencing member of the plurality of fencing members comprises at least one longitudinal bar, the at least one longitudinal bar adapted to be removably disposed between the pair of posts.

3. The fencing system of claim 1, wherein each fencing member of the plurality of fencing members comprises a lattice, the lattice adapted to be removably disposed between the pair of posts.

4. The fencing system of claim 1, wherein each post of the plurality of posts is a longitudinal bar adapted to be disposed in the cavity.

5. The fencing system of claim 5, further comprising at least one spike for removably securing the each holding member with the surface, the at least one spike capable of being driven into the surface through at least one opening configured on the base member.
