CLAIM OF PRIORITY

This patent application claims priority under 35 USC 119 (e) (1) from U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 61/194,455 filed Sep. 26, 2008, of common inventorship herewith entitled, “Generic Wipes.”

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention pertains to the field of personal hygiene and more particularly to the field of moist wipes, and even more specifically to the field of hypo-allergenic moist wipes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The prior art has put forward several ideas for moist wipes for skin-sensitive individuals. These include:

U.S. Pat. No. 6,440,437 to Krzysik et al directed to wet wipes having skin health benefits. These wipes include a natural fat or oil, a sterol , and water.

U.S. Pat. No. 7,157,389 to Branham et al describes an ion triggerable cationic polymer suitable for use in wet wipes. The polymer used in the wet wipes of this reference is developed for disposability.

U.S. Pat. No. 7,101,612 to Lang et al describes a pre-moistened wipe product and method of making the same.

None of these prior art references describe the moist wipes of the present invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Reducing germs and bacteria, hygiene rituals are important for making a person feel clean and fresh on a daily basis. Brushing one's teeth, taking a quick shower or enjoying a long, hot soak in the bathtub, are all activities that can cleanse the body and refresh the spirit. Although soaps and deodorants provide an efficient means of cleansing the body and bating odors, trying to maintain that level of cleanliness throughout the day can be very challenging. In particular, maintaining a level of freshness after using the restroom can be difficult. While most people use toilet tissue after using the toilet, it is nearly impossible to ensure that all traces of waste matter have been thoroughly expunged. Even a minute amount of waste can irritate the skin and cause painful itching and burning. Additionally, waste matter can also soil undergarments, leaving embarrassing stains that can be difficult to remove.

Recognizing the need for a toilet tissue or wipe which would provide soothing comfort to irritated skin, while offering the consumer a more hygienic means of removing waste matter and cleansing the body the present invention was developed, hereinafter referred to as Generic Wipes.

It is an object of the present invention to provide improved generic wipes

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Generic Wipes are specially designed sanitary wipes which are pre-moistened with a gentle, hypoallergenic cleansing solution. The Generic Wipes are infused with a light and bubbly solution containing seltzer water, as opposed to the harsh alcohol contained in standard wipes. As such, the Generic Wipes are safe for use on even the most sensitive skin. As an additional consideration, this hygienic product can be offered in hypoallergenic scented or unscented varieties.

Manufactured of cushiony soft sanitary paper material, the Generic Wipes are similar in size and shape to sanitary cleansing wipes. These unique wipes can be packaged in roll form with individual, perforated sheets, or can be packaged in individual, stacked sheets for easy use. The Generic Wipes can be sealed within a lightweight plastic container or single use pouches, thus easily retaining moisture prior to use.

Use of the Generic Wipes is very simple and straight forward. The Generic Wipes can be utilized following use of sanitary facilities, or whenever one wished to cleanse their body.

After use, the Generic Wipes can simply be flushed down the household toilet, or the consumer can simply discard the product in a trash receptacle.

There are many benefits and advantages associated with the Generic Wipes. Foremost, the Generic Wipes offers consumers a gentle and effective means of absorbing waste matter after using a toilet. Eliminating residue which could cause embarrassing stains, use of the Generic Wipes protects expensive clothing and potentially saves consumers time spent on stain removal when doing the laundry and money on replacement costs for damaged garments.

Consumers will also appreciate the sense of confidence and security that this product provides. Providing a sanitary and effective method of cleaning, the Generic Wipes offer users an easy means of achieving that shower-fresh feeling with every use. Another important advantage is that the Generic Wipes are soft and gentle on the skin. Boasting seltzer water as a key ingredient, as opposed to stringent alcohol which can burn and irritate the skin, the Generic Wipes are safe for use on even the most sensitive skin. Offering soothing relief to tender or sore skin, use of the Generic Wipes is a comfortable alternative to standard toilet tissue.

Although this invention has been described with respect to specific embodiments, it is not intended to be limited thereto and various modifications which will become apparent to the person of ordinary skill in the art are intended to fall within the spirit and scope of the invention as described herein taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and the appended claims.
