Disc Holding Packet Equipped with a Labeling Structure

A disc holding packet equipped with a labeling structure includes a cover layer and a bottom layer connecting to at least one edge of the cover layer. The cover layer and the bottom layer are foldable to form a holding space to hold a disc. The cover layer has a body portion and an extended portion connecting to one edge of the body portion. The extended portion has at least one labeling flap located at the connecting portion flippable against the body portion. The flippable labeling flap can be used to label the disc and facilitate classification and management of different discs.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a disc holding packet and particularly to a disc holding packet equipped with a labeling structure.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Optical discs such as CD (compact disc), VCD (Video CD) or DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) are inexpensive and easy to carry around, thus are widely accepted by consumers. They mostly aim for writing once and cannot be rewritten or delete unnecessary data. Hence users easily accumulate a great number of discs and result in cluttered space and management problem. Moreover, disposing the disc indiscreetly with other articles often rubs the surface and results in damage of the surface structure, and makes normal reading of the data is not possible. The conventional disc holding and storage methods generally can be divided into multiple discs holding approach and single disc holding approach. The commonly used multiple disc holding approach is through a disc bucket, also called pudding bucket. References can be found in R.O.C. patent Nos. M295781 and M280367. It mainly has an upper cap and a base tray that have a latch structure to couple with each other. The base tray has an upright strut in the center to run through the central hole of the disc. It can hold a great number of discs to fully utilize the storage space. Although it can efficiently hold a great number of discs, the bucket is bulky and not easy to carry around. To select a required disc among the huge number of stacking discs also is difficult.

The single disc holding approach usually contains one disc in a hard disc packet, cotton/plastic packet or paper packet. It is often being used alternately with the disc bucket. Take the widely used paper packet as an example. It mainly has a pouch for holding one disc and a covering flap extended integrally from one side of the pouch to prevent the disc from slipping out or prevent external dust from entering into the pouch. Although the paper packet surface may be printed with labeling texts or pictures for identification, to search a required one in a stacked pile of disc packets involves operations of flipping and reading the individual pockets. The process is troublesome and inefficient.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide a disc holding packet equipped with a labeling structure that allows users to easily identify or search a required one among a pile of stacking disc packets. The disc holding packet according to the invention includes a cover layer and a bottom layer connected on at least one edge. The bottom layer and the cover layer are folded to form a holding space to contain one disc. The cover layer has a body portion and an extended portion connecting to one edge of the body portion. The extended portion has at least one labeling flap at the connecting portion of the body portion that can be flipped and bent against the body portion.

The body portion has an identification opening covered by a transparent film to allow users to see the disc held in the holding space. There are a series of separation slits formed between the extended portion and the labeling flap. In the event that multiple labeling flaps are provided on the extended portion, users can select a desired labeling flap and break a mating separation slit to unfold the labeling flap.

The extended portion can be folded as desired against the body portion to prevent the disc held in the holding space from slipping out. The bottom layer has a coupling portion relative to one edge of the extended portion to be wedged in thereof to temporarily hold the extended portion in the coupling portion.

In another embodiment of the invention, the extended portion is bonded to the bottom layer to form a stronger bonding between the cover layer and the bottom layer.

By means of the structure set forth above, the labeling flap on the extended portion allows users to easily find out a desired disc among a great number of discs. In addition, with the labeling flap extended outside the cover layer, it can be gripped easily to remove the disc packet. Fetching the disc among a pile of huge number of discs is simpler. Compared with the conventional disc packet that does not have the extended labeling flap, the invention provides a significant improvement that makes management or selection of the discs more efficient

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2 for an embodiment of the disc holding packet equipped with a labeling structure of the invention. It includes a cover layer 10 and a bottom layer 20 that have at least one side connecting together, and are foldable to form a holding space to hold a disc. In general, the cover layer 10 and the bottom layer 20 are formed in shape mating each other. In this embodiment, the cover layer 10 includes a body portion 11 and an extended portion 12 connecting to one edge of the body portion 11. The extended portion 12 has a first flap 121 and a second flap 122. The first flap 121 has one end connecting to the body portion 11 and foldable against the body portion 11 by bending. The first flap 121 is formed at a length same as one side of the body portion 11. Hence the first flap 121 can cover the holding space to prevent the disc from slipping out or prevent external dust from entering to smear the disc. The bottom layer 20 has a coupling portion 21 located at a position corresponding to the first flap 121. The coupling portion 21 has a slit to be wedged in by one edge of the first flap 121 so that the first flap 121 can be temporarily held in the coupling portion 21. The second flap 122 has one end connecting to the body portion 11 and bonded to the bottom layer 20. Thus there is only one opening formed at the first flap 121 between the cover layer 10 and the bottom layer 20 to receive the disc. The rest sides of the packet are sealed to form a pouch. The body portion 11 also has an identification opening 111 to allow users to directly identify the disc held in the holding space without removing the disc. The identification opening 111 is covered by a transparent film.

To facilitate fetching of a required disc in a disc pile consisting of multiple discs, the extended portion 12 has at least one labeling flap 123 located at the position connecting to the body portion 11 that can be flipped against the body portion 11. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the first flap 121 has one labeling flap 123 which may contain a selected labeling text or graphic. Thus in the event that multiple discs are arranged in a stacking manner in a pile, users can easily identify a required disc by reading the data printed on the labeling flap 123 extended outside the body portion 11. Therefore, managing a great amount of discs is easier. The labeling flap 123 extended outside the body portion 11 also can facilitate fetching of the disc. In addition, there is a separation slit 124 formed between the extended portion 12 and the labeling flap 123. Users can choose whether to break the separation slit 124 to flip the labeling flap 123.

In another aspect, the first extended portion 121 may have a plurality of labeling flips 123 as shown in FIG. 3. By flipping the labeling flaps 123 of different locations in a staggered manner, the disc packets in a pile can be arranged to make identification easier. The separation slit 124 formed between the extended portion 12 and each labeling flap 123 can be torn selectively to flip a chosen labeling flap 123.

Referring to FIG. 4, the labeling flap 123 not only can be formed on the first extended portion 121, but also can be formed on the second extended portion 122 to increase labeling locations and expand usage of the invention.

As a conclusion, the disc holding packet according to the invention has an extended labeling flap on the body portion of the cover layer to facilitate disc identification when multiple disc packets are stacked in a pile. Management of a great number of discs is simpler, and searching required discs can be done quickly. The extended labeling flap also can be gripped easily to fetch a desired disc. Thus searching and fetching of the disc are more convenient.

While the preferred embodiments of the invention have been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiments of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A disc holding packet equipped with a labeling structure, comprising:

a cover layer which has a body portion and an extended portion connecting to one edge of the body portion, the extended portion having at least one labeling flap at the connecting portion that is flippable against the body portion; and
a bottom layer connecting to at least another edge of the body portion and foldable over the cover layer to form a holding space to hold a disc.

2. The disc holding packet of claim 1, wherein the body portion has an identification opening.

3. The disc holding packet of claim 2, wherein the identification opening is covered by a transparent film.

4. The disc holding packet of claim 1, wherein the bottom layer has a coupling portion corresponding to one edge of the extended portion.

5. The disc holding packet of claim 1, wherein the extended portion is bonded to the bottom layer.

6. The disc holding packet of claim 1, wherein the extended portion and the labeling flap are interposed by a separation slit.
