COVER FOR DOORS

Cover, for doors, designed to cover doors and to serve as a decorative and/or protective element without preventing closure or opening of a door. The cover consists of a sheet closed by coupling means and has an overlap, which, in turn, has, at its ends, connecting devices that collaborate with corresponding connecting devices located on the actual sheet, such that said overlap is non-removably joined by one of said ends to the sheet and removably joined thereto by the other end.

Description
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a device designed to be applied to doors and such like with the purpose of covering them without this affecting their functionality.

Specifically, the object of the invention is a cover for doors or such like, which thanks to its special configuration permits it to cover the entire surface thereof, either as a decorative element, a protective element or both, without affecting the function thereof, i.e., without it preventing the opening or closing thereof.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

On certain occasions, it is necessary to have a cover or such like so that an entire door or such like can be covered.

In order to deal with this need, various elements have been conceived, which nevertheless suffer from important defects, such as not covering the doors completely.

Furthermore, in some cases where it is possible to cover the entire door, it is not possible to perform its normal function of opening and closing as the device tends to interfere in the mechanism, preventing it from doing so.

In any case, the covers previously mentioned suffer from an additional drawback, which is none other than the complexity thereof, which forces complicated manoeuvres when placing them, and which makes the operation of placing and removing very laborious, which becomes a bother each time that one wants, for example, to wash them.

For these circumstances, it is necessary to have a cover which is easy and convenient to install and remove which, on the one hand, completely covers the door or such like and, on the other, does not interfere with the operation thereof.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The cover for doors and such like which is described below resolves the previously mentioned drawbacks simply and conveniently, while at the same time constituting an easy-to-handle and low cost element which ensures a correct operation of said door.

Specifically, the cover of the invention is structured from a thin sheet of fabric or such like whose thickness will allow the closure thereof, at least on the upper and lower faces which correspond to the upper and lower doorframes.

On the other hand, the cover of the invention, with a view to not preventing the closure of said door, does not cover either of the two lateral faces of the door, which correspond with the lateral doorframes wherein the hinged elements or such like are found which permit the swinging and opening/closing system.

To do this, the cover of the invention is structured from a sheet of fabric that has coupling means at its ends so that the connecting thereof leads to a cover whose upper lateral sides, which correspond with the aforementioned lateral frames of the door or such like, remain open.

The coupling system can be any suitable to this end, such as a zipper, Velcro®, buttons, etc., so that this permits a convenient and fast connection and/or separation of the ends of the cover with a view to the placement and/or removal, respectively.

In this way, for the placement thereof, the removal or disassembly of the door will not be necessary, but it will rather be enough to place the door in an open position and place the cover over said door, proceeding to attach it to the door by means of connecting the ends, as explained above.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In order to complement the description being carried out and with the aim of helping towards a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred embodiment thereof, a set of drawings accompanies said description, as an integral part thereof, wherein the following has been represented in an illustrative and non-limitative character:

FIG. 1 shows a front perspective view of the cover of the invention when it is coupled to a door in open position;

FIG. 2 shows a rear perspective view of the cover of the invention when it is coupled to a door in closed position and wherein a close-up is also shown of the area of the cover corresponding with the handle or knob of the door;

FIG. 3 shows a close-up view of the cover in what would be the placement or removal operation;

FIG. 4 shows a close-up view of the closure means of the cover of the present invention.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

According to a possible embodiment of the invention, the cover for doors of the present invention is structured from a sheet (1) of fabric or such like of little thickness, at least on the upper and lower faces, which corresponds with the upper (2) and lower (3) frames of the door.

Said sheet (1) also has coupling means (4) at its ends so that the connection thereof leads to a cover whose lateral sides, which correspond with the aforementioned lateral frames (5, 6) of the door or such like, remain open.

These coupling means (4), as can be observed in FIGS. 3 and 4, can be constituted, for example, by a zipper, which permits an easy and convenient connection.

On the other hand, in one possible embodiment of the invention, this coupling area between the two ends of the sheet (1), can be hidden by means of an overlap (7), which is placed over the area which contains the coupling means (4), hiding or covering them.

This overlap (7), which can be immovably connected at one of its ends (9) to the sheet (1), which constitutes the cover of the invention by means of sewing or such like, features at the other one of its ends a removable connecting device (8) type Velcro® or such like, which collaborates with that corresponding (8′) situated on the sheet (1) itself, as can be observed in FIGS. 3 and 4, which facilitates the positioning of said overlap (7) over the coupling means (4) and thus hiding them.

In another alternative embodiment, the overlap (7) can be joined to the sheet (1) by means of removable connecting devices (8) at both ends (9, 10), without needing one of them to be sewn to the sheet (1), such as in the previous example.

In order to make sure the handle or knob (11) of the door is not covered by the cover, an aperture (12) or such like is provided in the sheet (1) so that said handle can pass therethrough. Furthermore, this aperture can be constituted by an adjustable element or any other which permits it to fulfil the function described.

On the other hand, and alternatively, the cover of the invention can have a pocket or receptacle which, either built into the sheet (1) itself or incorporated so that it can be removed, permits said cover from having an additional functional element.

In the same manner, said cover can be completely decorated with ornamentations of all type, using any conventional technique such as screen printing, sewing, etc., so that it constitutes another decorative element to the user's liking.

In another alternative manner, the cover of the invention can be made, whether completely or in some of its parts, with an elastic material so that it features a structure adjustable to different sizes of doors or simply to facilitate the placement and removal thereof while achieving a better appearance thereof once placed.
