BASE STRUCTURE OF GOLF CLUB BAG

A golf club bag includes a bag body, a main support rod, a linking rod and a base. The bag body is fixed to the base composed of a front base and a rear base, which have substantially the same width and are pivotally connected to each other. When the bag body is placed slantingly, the front base may serve as a main supporting member at a bottom portion thereof, the larger supporting surface area can be obtained, and the stability of placement can be enhanced. In addition, peripheries of the front base and the rear base are connected to the bag body, a bottom end of the linking rod is inserted into the bag body and pivotally connected to the front base. Thus, it is possible to prevent its pivotal connection portion from being exposed outside the bag body and from being collided and damaged.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The invention relates to a golf club bag, and more particularly to a golf club bag having a base, which can provide a stable and reliable support when the golf club bag is placed slantingly.

(2) Description of the Prior Art

As well known in the art, a golf club bag is used so that the user can house and carry golf clubs conveniently. At present, most golf bags can be placed upright and slantingly to provide the best angle for the users to get the golf clubs.

Usually, a foot frame that may be freely retracted and expanded is placed outside the golf bag so that the bag can be placed slantingly. As shown in FIG. 1, the currently available foot frame structure usually includes a main support rod 20′, a linking rod 30′, a base 40′ and a turning plate 50′. A bag body 10′ is fixed to the base 40′. The turning plate 50′ is fixed to the front bottom surface of the base 40′. The top end of the main support rod 20′ is pivotally connected to a frame opening 11′ of the bag body 10′. One end of the linking rod 30′ is pivotally connected to the middle-upper portion of the main support rod 20′, and the other end of the linking rod 30′ is pivotally connected to the turning plate 50′. When the bag body is placed slantingly, the rear portion of the base 40′ is raised away from the floor, the turning plate 50′ is bent and elastically deformed while still in contact with the floor and becomes the main supporting member at the bottom portion of the bag body. Meanwhile, the main support rod 20′ is pushed open by the linking rod 30′ to contact with the floor, and to support the bag body 10′ such that the bag body 10′ is held at the required tilt angle.

However, the conventional foot frame structure still has some drawbacks. Because the width of the turning plate 50′ is smaller, the contact surface area between the turning plate 50′ and the floor is smaller. Thus, the golf club bag placed slantingly is not stable enough and often tends to shake. More particularly, the bag tends to fall down when the wind is strong or when the bag is slightly touched so that the user may feel inconvenient. On the other hand, the turning plate and the pivotal connection structure between the linking rod and the turning plate are exposed outside the bag body, and thus tend to be collided and damaged and extremely influence the glorification of the golf bag.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of this, it is therefore an object of the invention to provide a golf club bag, which has a larger contact surface area with a floor when the golf club bag is placed slantingly so that the golf club bag placed slantingly becomes more stable and reliable.

Another object of the invention is to provide a golf club bag having a pivotal connection structure of a bottom end of a linking rod, which is directly hidden in the bag body so that: the golf club bag has the more beautiful exterior design.

The invention achieves the above-identified objects by providing a golf club bag including a bag body, a main support rod, a linking rod and a base. The base is composed of a front base and a rear base, which have substantially the same width and are pivotally connected to each other. A periphery of a bottom end of the bag body is connected to peripheries of the front base and the rear base. The front base has a first bottom surface to be supported and in contact with a floor. The rear base has a second bottom surface to be supported and in contact with the floor. When the bag body is placed slantingly, the first bottom surface of the front base is supported on the floor, and the second bottom surface of the rear base is slantingly raised away from the floor.

As a preferred embodiment, a pivotal connection portion between the linking rod and the base is disposed within the front base.

As another preferred embodiment, a pivotal connection structure between the front base and the rear base comprises two shaft holes formed on the rear base, and two rotating shafts disposed on the front base, the rotating shafts are respectively inserted into the shaft holes and can be freely rotated relative to each other to have clearance fits.

As still another preferred embodiment, a guiding slot is further formed outside the shaft hole of the rear base, a slider is disposed in correspondence with the front base, the slider is inserted into the guiding slot, and at least one end of the guiding slot has a restricting end surface for restricting a sliding range of the slider.

As yet still another preferred embodiment, an opening is further formed on the shaft hole so that the rotating shaft can be easily inserted into the shaft hole, and the opening has a width smaller than a diameter of the shaft hole.

According to the technical aspects of the invention, the following advantages can be obtained. In this invention, the base is divided into the front base and the rear base having substantially the same width. When the bag body is placed slantingly, the front base serves as the main supporting member at the bottom portion thereof so that the larger supporting surface area is obtained and the stability of the bag body placed slantingly can be effectively enhanced. On the other hand, the peripheries of the front base and the rear base can be connected to the bag body, and the bottom end of the linking rod may be inserted into the bag body and pivotally connected to the front base. Thus, it is possible to prevent the pivotal connection portion from being exposed outside the bag body and from being collided and damaged. So, the better exterior structure of the bottom portion of the bag body can be obtained.

Further aspects, objects, and desirable features of the invention will be better understood from the detailed description and drawings that follow in which various embodiments of the disclosed invention are illustrated by way of examples.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The present invention will be apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein the same references relate to the same elements.

FIGS. 2 to 5 show the embodied structure according to the preferred embodiment of the invention. Referring to FIGS. 2 to 5, a golf club bag includes a bag body 10, a main support rod 20, a linking rod 30 and a base 40. The bag body 10 is fixed to the base 40. The top end of the main support rod 20 is pivotally connected to the vicinity of a frame opening of the bag body 10. The top end of the linking rod 30 is pivotally connected to the middle-upper portion of the main support rod 20. The bottom end of the linking rod 30 is pivotally connected to the base 40.

The base 40 is composed of a front base 41 and a rear base 42, which have the substantially the same width and are pivotally connected to each other. A periphery of a bottom end of the bag body 10 is simultaneously sewed and connected to the peripheries of the front base 41 and the rear base 42. The front base 41 has a first bottom surface 411 to be supported and in contact with the floor.

Two rotating shafts 412 extending in a direction from left to right are disposed within the front base 41, and axes of the rotating shafts 412 are located on the same straight line. The rear base 42 has a second bottom surface 421 to be supported by and in contact with the floor. Two shaft holes 422 extending in a direction from left to right are formed in the rear base 42, and axes of the two shaft holes 42 are located on the same straight line. The rotating shaft 412 is inserted into the shaft hole 422, and the rotating shaft 412 and the shaft hole 422 may be freely rotated to have a clearance fit. An opening 423 is formed on one side of the shaft hole 422 so that the rotating shaft 412 can be conveniently inserted into the shaft hole 422. The width of the opening 423 is smaller than the diameter of the shaft hole 422.

In addition, in order to make sure that the rear base 42 can be rotated more smoothly, an arced guiding slot 424 is further formed outside the shaft hole 422 of the rear base 42 in this embodiment, and a slider 413 is disposed in correspondence with the front base 41. The slider 413 is inserted into the guiding slot 424 and can freely slide with respect to the guiding slot 424 to have the clearance fit.

More particularly, a pivotal connection position 31 between the bottom end of the linking rod 30 and the base 40 is disposed within the front base 41. That is, the bottom end of the linking rod 30 is disposed within the bag body 10. Of course, a through hole, through which the linking rod 30 may pass, is correspondingly formed on the bag body 10.

In practice, when the bag body 10 is placed in an upright state, the first bottom surface 411 of the front base 41 and the second bottom surface 421 of the rear base 42 are disposed on the same horizontal plane and support the floor simultaneously. When the bag body 10 is placed slantingly, the rear base 42 is rotated about the rotating shaft 412 slantingly, its rear portion is raised such that the second bottom surface 421 is moved away from the floor, and the first bottom surface 411 of the front base 41 supports the floor to become the main supporting member on the bottom of the bag body 10. Meanwhile, the main support rod 20 is pushed open by the linking rod 30, and its bottom end contacts with the floor to support the bag body 10 such that the bag body 10 is held at the required tilt angle.

The key point of the invention is to divide the base 40 into the front base 41 and the rear base 42 having substantially the same width. When the bag body 10 is placed slantingly, the front base 41 serves as the main supporting member at the bottom portion thereof so that the larger supporting surface area is obtained and the stability of the bag body placed slantingly can be effectively enhanced. On the other hand, the peripheries of the front base 41 and the rear base 42 can be connected to the bag body 10, and the bottom end of the linking rod 30 may be inserted into the bag body 10 and pivotally connected to the front base 41. Thus, it is possible to prevent the pivotal connection portion 31 from being exposed outside the bag body 10 and from being collided and damaged. So, the better exterior structure of the bottom portion of the bag body can be obtained.

Claims

1. A golf club bag, comprising a bag body, a main support rod, a linking rod and a base, wherein:

the base is composed of a front base and a rear base, which have substantially the same width and are pivotally connected to each other;
a periphery of a bottom end of the bag body is connected to peripheries of the front base and the rear base;
the front base has a first bottom surface to be supported and in contact with a floor;
the rear base has a second bottom surface to be supported and in contact with the floor; and
when the bag body is placed slantingly, the first bottom surface of the front base is supported on the floor, and the second bottom surface of the rear base is slantingly raised away from the floor.

2. The golf club bag according to claim 1, wherein a pivotal connection portion between the linking rod and the base is disposed within the front base.

The golf club bag according to claim 1, wherein a pivotal connection structure between the front base and the rear base comprises two shaft holes formed on the rear base, and two rotating shafts disposed on the front base, the rotating shafts are respectively inserted into the shaft holes and can be freely rotated relative to each other to have clearance fits.

The golf club bag according to claim 3, wherein a guiding slot is further formed outside the shaft hole of the rear base, a slider is disposed in correspondence with the front base, the slider is inserted into the guiding slot, and at least one end of the guiding slot has a restricting end surface for restricting a sliding range of the slider.

5. The golf club bag according to claim 3, wherein an opening is further formed on the shaft hole so that the rotating shaft can be easily inserted into the shaft hole, and the opening has a width smaller than a diameter of the shaft hole.
