METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SHOE

Abstract

The present invention provides method for reinforcing the connection between the vamp and the outsole, and includes: a vamp including a lateral vamp and a bottom vamp; a connecting medium member including a first part enclosing the lateral vamp, a second part extending perpendicularly from a lower portion of outside of the first part, a third plane extending perpendicularly from an inside of a lower portion of the first part, an outside connected to the connecting medium member and the lateral vamp. The second part includes holes whose axes are perpendicular to the bottom vamp. A material forming the outsole fills a gap between third part and the bottom vamp, and the holes.

Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

This is a Continuation-In-Part application of the applicant's former patent application Ser. No. 11/554,564, filed on Oct. 30, 2006.

DESCRIPTION OF RELATED ARTS

Referring to the FIG. 1, it illustrates a conventional way to manufacture a shoe, including a vamp 110, a connecting medium member 120 including a plurality of holes 140, and an outsole 130. The connecting medium member 120 is used to be stitched on the vamp 110 and enclose the lower portion of the vamp 110. The vamp 110 and the connecting medium member 120 are placed in a mold, and then the melted rubber is poured into the mold to integrally connect the outsole 130. The holes 140 in the connecting medium member 120 are filled with the rubber to form a secure connection between the vamp 110 and the outsole 130. But the connecting strength is not strong enough between the vamp 110 and the outsole 130 because the holes 140 are located in the same orientation and located on the peripheral wall of the vamp 110, they can only provide limited connecting force between the vamp 110 and the outsole 130.

U.S. Pat. No. 6,647,644 discloses a welt member connected between the vamp and the outsole, although the welt member includes an outer portion and an inner edge, the welt member does not include holes to allow the material of the outsole to be filled with.

Therefore, there is a need to provide a solution to improve the connecting strength between the vamp 110 and the outsole 130.

SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for reinforcing the connection between the vamp and the outsole, and the method comprises:

• • a vamp comprising a lateral vamp and a bottom vamp;
  • a connecting medium member comprising a first part, a second part extending perpendicularly and outward from a lower portion of an outside of the first part, a third part extending inward from the lower portion of an inside of the first part, the first part stitched to an outside of the lateral vamp, a plurality of holes defined through the second part and axes of the holes being perpendicular to the bottom vamp, a gap defined between the third part and an underside of the bottom vamp, and
  • an outsole enclosing the connecting medium member and the bottom vamp, a material forming the outsole filling the holes and the gap.

One or part or all of these and other features and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent to those skilled in this art from the following description wherein there is shown and described a preferred embodiment of this invention, simply by way of illustration of one of the modes best suited to carry out the invention. As it will be realized, the invention is capable of different embodiments, and its several details are capable of modifications in various, obvious aspects all without departing from the invention. Accordingly, the drawings and descriptions will be regarded as illustrative in nature and not as restrictive.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

In an embodiment, referring to FIG. 2, a shoe comprises a vamp 200 including a lateral vamp 210 and a bottom vamp 220, a connecting medium member 230, and an outsole 240. The connecting medium member 230 includes a first part 231 which is used to be stitched on the lower portion of the lateral vamp 210 to enclose the vamp 200. A second part 232 extends perpendicularly and outward from the lower portion of the outside of the first part 231. A plurality of holes 235 are defined through the second plane 232. A third part 234 extends inward from the lower portion of an inside of the first part 231. The axes of the holes 233 are perpendicular to the bottom vamp 220. The second part 232 includes a plurality of notches 235 defined in the outside and the bottom thereof and the notches 235 communicate with the holes 233 respectively. The third part 234 comprises a plurality of saw-toothed objects and distances are defined between the saw-toothed objects. A gap is defined between the third part 234 and an underside of the bottom vamp 220.

The vamp 200 and the connecting medium member 230 are placed in a mold (not shown). A material, such as rubber, is melted and poured into the mold to integrally connect the outsole 240 and the vamp 200. The material fills the holes 235 in the second part 232, the gap between the bottom vamp 220 and the third part 234, and the distances between the saw-toothed objects of the third part 234 to integrally reinforce the connection between the outsole 240 and the vamp 200.

Referring to FIG. 3, it shows the cross section of the shoe, wherein the first part 231 is partially exposed between the outsole 246 and the lateral vamp 210, and the second part 232 is substantially perpendicular to the outsole 240 and the third part 234 is substantially parallel to the outsole 240. The material fills in the holes 233 and the notches 235 as shown. The holes 233 and the notches 235 are orientated in two different directions so that the material can securely connect the outsole 240 and the vamp 200 by the use of the connecting medium member 230. FIG. 4 shows the lateral view of the shoe.

Referring to FIG. 3-1, the holes 233 are orientated such that the axes of the holes 235 are perpendicular to the outsole 240 and the notches 235 extend laterally relative to the first part 231. The axes of the notches 235 are substantially perpendicular to the axes of the holes 233. Therefore, the material in the holes 233 and the notches 235 connect the vamp 200 and the outsole 240 in two different directions and positions. In other words, the material in the holes 233 and the material in the notches 235 are located at two different planes and positions, this provides different directions of connecting forces between the vamp 200 and the outsole 240. The specific arrangement can achieve a much better connection between the vamp 200 and the outsole 240 when compared with the known products in the market.

One skilled in the art will understand that the embodiment of the present invention as shown in the drawings and described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting.

It should be appreciated that variations may be made in the embodiments described by persons skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined by the following claims. Moreover, no element and component in the present disclosure is intended to be dedicated to the public regardless of whether the element or component is explicitly recited in the following claims.

Claims

1. A shoe comprising:

a vamp comprising a lateral vamp and a bottom vamp;

a connecting medium member comprising a first part, a second part extending perpendicularly and outward from a lower portion of an outside of the first part, a third part extending inward from the lower portion of an inside of the first part, the first part stitched to an outside of the lateral vamp, a plurality of holes defined through the second part and axes of the holes being perpendicular to the bottom vamp, a gap defined between the third part and an underside of the bottom vamp, and

an outsole enclosing the connecting medium member and the bottom vamp, a material forming the outsole filling the holes and the gap.

2. The shoe as claimed in claim 1, wherein the third part comprises a plurality of saw-toothed objects and distances are defined between the saw-toothed objects.

3. The shoe as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second part includes a plurality of notches defined in an outside and bottom thereof and the notches communicate with the holes respectively.

4. The shoe as claimed in claim 3, wherein axes of the notches are substantially perpendicular to the axes of the holes.
