Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a cosmetic applicator, and more particularly to a device designed to be used to get a pressed-powder-type or liquid-type make-up cosmetic and to apply the make-up cosmetic to the face.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Beauty care generally includes a basic skin care step for taking care of the skin by supplying moisture or nutrition to the skin, and a make-up beauty care step for providing a color effect over the skin of the basic skin care.

In general, in the basic skin care step, a basic cosmetic, such as, a face lotion, a nutrition cream, a foundation, is applied to the skin by using hands.

In the make-up beauty care step, a pressed-powder-type or liquid-type make-up cosmetic is applied to the skin by using a certain cosmetic applicator.

FIG. 6 shows an assembled perspective view illustrating one conventional cosmetic applicator.

One conventional cosmetic applicator, as shown in FIG. 6, includes a holding portion 111, and a wool application portion 120 coupled with the holding portion 111.

The holding portion 111 has one area formed with a fixing hole 111a.

The application portion 120 may be fabricated by the following method.

First, wool in a certain amount is tied to form a bundle of wool.

Next, the wool bundle is inserted in the fixing hole 111a.

Then, the holding portion 111 is compressed so that the wool bundle can be fixed in the fixing hole 111a.

Meanwhile, although one conventional cosmetic applicator uses wool for forming the application portion 120, the application portion may be fabricated by using a porous material, such as a sponge, as shown in FIG. 7.

FIG. 7 shows an exploded perspective view illustrating another conventional cosmetic applicator, and FIG. 8 shows an assembled perspective view illustrating another conventional cosmetic applicator.

In a cosmetic applicator having an application portion 120′ made from a porous material, a holding portion 111′ has a support plate 111a, and the application portion 120′ is coupled with the holding portion 111′ in such a manner that it surrounds the support plate 111a.

However, a conventional cosmetic applicator has had a problem that a complicated fabrication process is required, because a contact portion 121 is fabricated by tying up wool in a bundle and compressing the wool bundle, or the holding portion 111′ is formed in such a manner that it can include the support plate 111a.

Also, in getting a make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 121, some of the make-up cosmetic is filled in a hole of the contact portion or between the strands of wool. Thus, there has been a problem in that after the make-up beauty care, it is difficult to wash off the remaining cosmetic on the contact portion 121. The difficulty in washing off the remaining cosmetic on the contact portion 121 causes a secondary problem, such as the propagation of harmful microbes on the contact portion 121, the shortening of its service life.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS

Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 shows an exploded perspective view illustrating a cosmetic applicator according to one embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 shows an assembled perspective view illustrating a cosmetic applicator according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view illustrating a cosmetic applicator according to one embodiment of the present invention.

The cosmetic applicator according to one embodiment of the present invention, as shown FIGS. 1 to 3, has a holding portion 11, and an application portion 20 made from silicon, which is coupled with the holding portion 11.

The holding portion 11 has one area formed with a fixing hole 11a.

The application portion 20 has a plate-shaped contact portion 21, and a fixing portion 22 extending from the contact portion 21.

The contact portion 21 has a cross-sectional area which gradually decreases, and multiple cosmetic adhesion projections 21a formed on both surfaces thereof.

Also, in the contact portion 21, a guide groove 21b is formed in the direction where the cross-sectional area decreases, and a jade particle 21c is stuck onto the outer surface in such a manner that it is exposed.

The application portion 20 having such a configuration is coupled with the holding portion 11 by bonding the outer surface of the fixing portion 22 on the inner surface of the fixing hole 11a. Accordingly, the cosmetic adhesion projections 21a are exposed to the outside.

The application portion 20 having the above mentioned configuration may be fabricated by injection molding or compression molding.

Hereinafter, a method of fabricating the application portion 20 by the compression molding will be described.

First, an upper mold and a lower mold are prepared. Herein, the upper and lower molds are to be joined together to have a cavity fittable in the shape of the application portion 20.

Next, a skin improving material particle, such as jade, silver, is mixed with a gel-type heat-curable silicon rubber or a liquid-type heat-curable silicon rubber. Herein, the skin improving material indicates a material capable of providing an effect which is useful to skin, such as an antibacterial effect, a blood circulation improving effect.

Then, the gel-type heat-curable silicon rubber or the liquid-type heat-curable silicon rubber, which is mixed with the skin improving material particle, is injected into the cavity. When injecting the silicon rubber into the cavity, the amount of filler is adjusted so that the molded application portion product can have a hardness (Shore A) within the range of 10 to 70.

Next, the upper and lower molds are heated to cure the silicon rubber.

Next, the upper and lower molds are cooled.

Lastly, the upper and lower molds are opened, and the molded application portion product is separated.

Hereinafter, a method of using the cosmetic applicator according to one embodiment of the present invention, the applicator having such a configuration, will be described.

First, a pressed-powder-type or liquid-type make-up cosmetic is put onto one surface or both surfaces of the contact portion 21. The make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 21 continuously remains on the contact portion 21 by the cosmetic adhesion projections 21a and the jade particle 21c (a silicon material has low surface tension while the cosmetic adhesion projections cause an adhesive force).

Next, the contact portion 21 is contacted with the skin area for make-up.

When contacting the contact portion 21 with the skin, the make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 21 is transferred to the skin via an inclined surface or the guide groove 21b.

After the use, the remaining cosmetic on the contact portion 21 is washed off by water.

Meanwhile, in the above described embodiment, the outer surface of the contact portion 21 is formed with the cosmetic adhesion projections 21a, but it is possible to realize the present invention by forming cosmetic adhesion recesses 21a on the outer surface of a contact portion 21′, as shown in FIG. 4.

FIG. 4 shows an assembled perspective view illustrating a cosmetic applicator according to another embodiment of the present invention. In FIG. 4, the elements having the same structure and functions as those in one embodiment of the present invention are denoted by the same reference numerals.

In the above described embodiments, the contact portion 21 is formed into a plate shape. However, as shown in FIG. 5, it is possible to realize the present invention by forming a contact portion 21″ into another shape, such as a pole shape, and forming cosmetic adhesion projections 21a or cosmetic adhesion recesses.

FIG. 5 shows an exploded perspective view illustrating a cosmetic applicator according to a further embodiment of the present invention.

In FIG. 5, the elements having the same structure and functions as those in one embodiment of the present invention are denoted by the same reference numerals.

As described above, the contact portion 21 according to the embodiments of the present invention is made from a silicon material, and has the cosmetic adhesion projections 21a or the cosmetic adhesion recesses 21a formed on the outer surface thereof. Thus, the contact portion requires a simple fabrication process, and allows the remaining cosmetic on the contact portion 21 to be easily washed off.

Also, the contact portion 21 is fabricated in such a manner that its cross-sectional area gradually decreases as it becomes more distant from the holding portion 11, which makes it possible to stably transfer the make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 21 to the skin.

Also, on the contact portion 21, which is fabricated in such a manner that its cross-sectional area gradually decreases as it becomes more distant from the holding portion 11, the guide groove 21b is formed in the direction where the cross-sectional area decreases. Thus, the make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 21 can be more stably transferred to the skin.

Also, since jade particles or silver particles are stuck on the outer surface of the contact portion 21 in such a manner that it is exposed, it is possible to improve the skin state and to get more of the make-up cosmetic on the contact portion 21.

Although an exemplary embodiment of the present invention has been described for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.

According to the present invention, the contact portion is made from a silicon material and has a cosmetic adhesion projections or recesses formed on the outer surface thereof. Thus, it is possible to simply fabricate the applicator and to easily wash off the remaining cosmetic on the contact portion.
