Shared hand mitten-type garment
The present invention is a shared hand mitten-type garment with a first mitten section to accommodate a first user's hand, with a first interior pocket and wrist sleeve portion with an aperture at an end of the wrist sleeve portion to allow the first user's hand to be inserted into the first mitten section and wrist sleeve portion. There is also a second mitten section to accommodate a second user's hand, with a second interior pocket and wrist sleeve portion with an aperture at an end of the wrist sleeve portion to allow the second user's hand to be inserted into the second mitten section and wrist sleeve portion. An interiorly open connection is also provided between the first mitten section and second mitten section that allows the first user's hand to have physical contact with the second user's hand.

TECHNICAL FIELD & BACKGROUNDThe present invention generally relates to a hand mitten-type garment. More specifically, the invention is a hand mitten-type garment that is shared and worn by two people at the same time.
It is an object of the invention to provide a hand mitten-type garment that is shared between two people at the same time where one person inserts their left hand into the garment and another person inserts their right hand into the garment.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a hand mitten-type garment where two people can hold hands inside the garment at the same time to keep their hands warm.
It is also an object of the invention to provide a hand mitten-type garment where two people can hold hands inside the garment at the same time to show affection for each other.
What is really needed is a novelty hand mitten-type garment that allows two people to share the garment and to hold hands inside the garment at the same time. Such a hand mitten-type garment can also allow two people to show affection for each other while wearing the garment while also keeping their hands warm.

However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced with only some of the described aspects. For purposes of explanation, specific numbers, materials and configurations are set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the illustrative embodiments. However, it will be apparent to one skilled in the art that the present invention may be practiced without the specific details. In other instances, well-known features are omitted or simplified in order not to obscure the illustrative embodiments.
Various operations will be described as multiple discrete operations, in turn, in a manner that is most helpful in understanding the present invention, however, the order of description should not be construed as to imply that these operations are necessarily order dependent. In particular, these operations need not be performed in the order of presentation.
The phrase “in one embodiment” is used repeatedly. The phrase generally does not refer to the same embodiment, however, it may. The terms “comprising”, “having” and “including” are synonymous, unless the context dictates otherwise.
A shared hand mitten-type garment 10 for a first user and first hand, fingers and thumb (not shown) and a second user and second hand, fingers and thumb (not shown), has a first mitten section 20 to accommodate the first user's hand, with a first interior pocket 30 and first wrist sleeve portion 40 with a first aperture 50 at an end of the first wrist sleeve portion 40 to allow the first user's hand to be inserted into the first interior pocket 30 and the first wrist sleeve portion 40. There is also a second mitten section 60 to accommodate the second user's hand, with a second interior pocket 70 and a second wrist sleeve portion 80 with a second aperture 90 at an end of the second wrist sleeve portion 80 to allow the second user's hand to be inserted into the second interior pocket 60 and the second wrist portion 80. There is also an interiorly open connection 100 between the first mitten section 20 and the second mitten section 60 that allows the first user's hand to have physical contact with the second user's hand while inside the garment 10.
The first interior pocket 30 of the shared hand mitten-type garment 10 has a generally rounded shape. This enables the first interior pocket 30 to comfortably internally accommodate and encompass the first user's hand, fingers and thumb. As indicated previously, the shared hand mitten-type garment 10 differs from a traditional mitten in that there is no accommodation for a user's thumb. Because of this, the shared hand mitten-type garment 10 may be more comfortable than a traditional mitten. The first mitten section 20, in addition to having a first interior pocket 30 also has a first wrist sleeve portion 40 that is elastic and has elastic characteristics. Elastic characteristics would include being able to stretch the first aperture 50 to comfortably accommodate various first users' wrist sizes to allow for a first user to easily slide into the garment 10. Elastic characteristics would also involve the first aperture 50 to encompass and secure the wrist of the first user while the first user is wearing the garment 10. The first mitten section 20, the first interior pocket 30 and the first wrist sleeve portion 40 are all made of various fibers and fiber blends, specifically 100% acrylic fibers and a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend, although other fibers and fiber blends known to those schooled in the art can also be used. Note that the first mitten section 20, the first interior pocket 30 and the first wrist sleeve portion 40 can be hand-knit or produced by any other production method that is well-known to those schooled in the art. The first interior pocket of the first mitten section 30 is not however, made of elastic material nor has any elastic characteristics unlike the first wrist sleeve portion 40.
Like the first interior pocket 30, the second interior pocket 70 of the shared hand mitten-type garment 10 has a generally rounded shape. This enables the second interior pocket 70 to comfortably internally accommodate and encompass the second user's hand, fingers and thumb. The second mitten section 60, in addition to having a second interior pocket 70 also has a second wrist sleeve portion 80 that is elastic and has elastic characteristics. Elastic characteristics would include being able to stretch the second aperture 90 to comfortably accommodate various second users' wrist sizes to allow for a second user to easily slide into the garment 10. Elastic characteristics would also involve the second aperture 90 to encompass and secure the wrist of the second user while the second user is wearing the garment 10. The second mitten section 60, the second interior pocket 70 and the second wrist sleeve portion 80 are all made of various fibers and fiber blends, specifically 100% acrylic fibers and a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend, although other fibers and fiber blends known to those schooled in the art can also be used. Note that the second mitten section 60, the second interior pocket 70 and the second wrist sleeve portion 80 can be hand-knit or produced by any other production method that is well-known to those schooled in the art. The second interior pocket 70 of the second mitten section 60 is not however, made of elastic material nor has any elastic characteristics unlike the second wrist sleeve portion 80.
The interiorly open connection 100 for the shared hand mitten-type garment 10 also exteriorly knits and attaches the first section 20 and the second section 60 together. The hand mitten-type garment 10 is a novelty garment and is shared and worn by two people at the same time where one person inserts their left hand into the garment 10 and another person inserts their right hand into the garment 10. The hand mitten-type garment 10 is not designed to be used by one person where that one person puts their right and left hands in the garment 10 together. The open connection 100 allows the first user to hold hands with the second user and allows the first user and second user to utilize body heat to keep warm inside the garment 10. The hand mitten-type garment 10 can also be used where two people can hold hands inside the garment 10 at the same time to show affection for each other. The entire shared hand mitten-type garment 10, the first section 20 and the second section 60 are made of various fibers and fiber blends such as 100% acrylic fibers and a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend, although other fibers and fiber blends known to those schooled in the art can also be used. Note that the first mitten section 20, the second mitten section 60 and the entire mitten garment 10 can be hand-knit or produced by any other production method that is well-known to those schooled in the art.
While the present invention has been related in terms of the foregoing embodiments, those skilled in the art will recognize that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described. The present invention can be practiced with modification and alteration within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. Thus, the description is to be regarded as illustrative instead of restrictive on the present invention.
Claims
1. A shared hand mitten-type garment for a first user and first hand, fingers and thumb and a second user and second hand, fingers and thumb, comprising:
- a first mitten section to accommodate said first user's hand, with a first interior pocket and wrist sleeve portion with an aperture at an end of said wrist sleeve portion to allow said first user's hand to be inserted into said first mitten section and said wrist sleeve portion;
- a second mitten section to accommodate said second user's hand, with a second interior pocket and wrist sleeve portion with an aperture at an end of said wrist sleeve portion to allow said second user's hand to be inserted into said second mitten section and said wrist portion; and
- an interiorly open connection between said first mitten section and said second mitten section that allows said first user's hand to have physical contact with said second user's hand.
2. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said first interior pocket has a generally rounded shape.
3. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said first mitten section internally accommodates and encompasses said first user's hand, fingers and thumb.
4. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said first wrist sleeve portion is elastic and has elastic characteristics.
5. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said first section, said first pocket and said first sleeve portion are made of various fibers and fiber blends.
6. The garment according to claim 5, wherein said first section, said first pocket and said first sleeve portion are made of 100% acrylic fibers.
7. The garment according to claim 5, wherein said first section, said first pocket and said first sleeve portion are made of a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend.
8. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said second interior pocket has a generally rounded shape.
9. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said second mitten section internally accommodates and encompasses said second user's hand, fingers and thumb.
10. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said second wrist sleeve portion is elastic and has elastic characteristics.
11. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said second section, said second pocket and said second sleeve portion are made of various fibers and fiber blends.
12. The garment according to claim 11, wherein said second section, said second pocket and said second sleeve portion are made of 100% acrylic fibers.
13. The garment according to claim 11, wherein said second section, said second pocket and said second sleeve portion are made of a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend.
14. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said connection exteriorly knits and attaches said first section and said second section together.
15. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said connection allows said first user to hold hands with said second user.
16. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said connection allows said first user and said second user to utilize body heat to keep said first user's hand and said second user's hand warm.
17. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said garment is made of various fibers and fiber blends.
18. The garment according to claim 17, wherein said garment is made of 100% acrylic fibers.
19. The garment according to claim 17, wherein said garment is made of a 50% alpaca, 30% wool and 20% acrylic fiber blend.
20. The garment according to claim 1, wherein said first user and said second user wear said garment at the same time.
