Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a water heater casing, especially to a water-heater casing efficiently covering a water-heater for improved aesthetic appearance and use of space.

2. Description of the Related Art

A water-heater casing is made for containing components of a water heater, such as a tank, drain valves, control devices, etc. The tank may be cylindrical, stores water and is the largest component of the water heater.

However, conventional water-heater casings are simple cuboids without attractive appearances and have a chamber. Since the tank of a water heater is cylindrical, the chamber has redundant room after containing the tank and other components of the water heater. Therefore, the conventional water-heater casing occupies needless space.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a water-heater casing to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide a water-heater casing efficiently covering a water-heater for improved aesthetic appearance and use of space.

A water-heater casing in accordance with the present invention has a barrel, two covers and a chamber. The barrel has a cylindrical body and at least one hump and two open ends. The at least one hump is formed from the cylindrical body and has at least one tangential side. The covers are respectively mounted on the ends of the barrel. The chamber is formed between the body, hump and covers and corresponds to a water tank and components. The water-heater casing saves space and is attractive.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, a water-heater casing in accordance with the present invention comprises a barrel (10), a top cover (20), a bottom cover (30) and a chamber.

The barrel (10) is formed by bending and welding a metallic sheet and has a cylindrical body (12), at least one hump (11), an open top end and an open bottom end. The at least one hump (11) is formed with the cylindrical body (12) and has at least one tangential side and a connection side. The at least one tangential side is formed tangentially from cylindrical body (12) by stamping. The connection side is formed with the at least one tangential side and may be straight or may be a tangential side.

When two humps (11) are implemented, the connection sides may be adjacent to each other.

With further reference to FIG. 8, one hump (11E) having two tangential sides may be implemented.

With further reference to FIG. 6, three humps (11C) may be implemented and have a central hump (11C) formed between two adjacent humps (11C). The central hump may have two tangential sides and the adjacent humps (11C) may have one connection side adjacent to the central hump (11C).

With further reference to FIG. 5, two humps (11B) each having two tangential sides may be implemented.

With further reference to FIG. 7, two humps (11D) of differences sizes and each having two tangential sides may be implemented.

With further reference to FIG. 4, three humps (11A) each having two tangential sides may be implemented.

The top cover (20) corresponds to and is mounted on the open top end of the barrel (10) by soldering or insertion.

The bottom cover (30) corresponds to and is mounted on the open bottom end of the barrel (10) by soldering or insertion and may have multiple through holes (31). The through holes (31) allow water pipes to be mounted through water-heater casing.

The chamber is formed between the cylindrical body (12), the at least one hump (11), top cover (20) and bottom cover (30).

The water-heater casing in accordance with the present invention is mounted over a water heater having a cylindrical tank and external components, such as but not limited to water pipes, timer switch, dials valves or the like. The chamber of the water-heater casing corresponds to and is mounted over the water heater. With further reference to FIG. 9, the cylindrical body (12) corresponds to and is mounted around a cylindrical tank (40) of the water heater. The at least one hump (11) extends the chamber, corresponds to and provides suitable space for the external components of the water heater. Therefore, the water-heater casing has a smaller volume than a conventional cuboidal water-heater casing and thereby achieves miniaturization and saves space. Furthermore an appearance of the water-heater casing is artistic and attractive.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
