Sit-Up Exercising Apparatus

A sit-up exercising apparatus includes at least one inclined abdominal board and a counting device mounted in the abdominal board. The counting device includes a support bracket secured in the abdominal board, a magnetic detector mounted on the support bracket, a movable member movably mounted on the support bracket and movable relative to the support bracket and the magnetic detector, a magnetic member mounted on the movable member to move with the movable member and movable to pass by the magnetic detector to produce multiple magnetic signals in the magnetic detector, and a transmission wire connected with the magnetic detector to transmit the magnetic signals in the magnetic detector. Thus, the counting device can count the times of the sit-up actions automatically so that the user needs not count the sit-up times by himself/herself during the exercising process.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an exercising apparatus and, more particularly, to a sit-up exercising apparatus having a counting device.

2. Description of the Related Art

A conventional sit-up exercising apparatus in accordance with the prior art shown in FIG. 5 comprises a substantially L-shaped support frame 12 having two opposite ends each provided with a transverse support rod 11, at least one inclined abdominal board 10 mounted on a first side of the support frame 12 for supporting a user's body, and at least one pair of leg supports 13 mounted on a second side of the support frame 12 for supporting the user's legs. Thus, the user can perform sit-up actions on the abdominal board 10 so as to exercise his/her abdomen. However, the user has to count the sit-up times by himself/herself during the exercising process, thereby causing inconvenience to the user.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a sit-up exercising apparatus, comprising at least one inclined abdominal board and a counting device mounted in the abdominal board. The counting device includes a support bracket secured in the abdominal board, a magnetic detector mounted on the support bracket, a movable member movably mounted on the support bracket and movable relative to the support bracket and the magnetic detector, a magnetic member mounted on the movable member to move in concert with the movable member and movable reciprocally to pass by the magnetic detector to produce multiple magnetic signals in the magnetic detector, and a transmission wire connected with the magnetic detector to transmit the magnetic signals in the magnetic detector.

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a counting device for a sit-up exercising apparatus.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a sit-up exercising apparatus, wherein the counting device can count the times of the sit-up actions automatically so that the user needs not count the sit-up times by himself/herself during the exercising process, thereby facilitating the user operating the sit-up exercising apparatus.

Further benefits and advantages of the present invention will become apparent after a careful reading of the detailed description with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to the drawings and initially to FIGS. 1-3, a sit-up exercising apparatus in accordance with the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises at least one inclined abdominal board 60, and a counting device 40 mounted in the abdominal board 60.

The abdominal board 60 has an inner portion provided with a receiving space 61 to receive the counting device 40.

The counting device 40 includes a support bracket 41 secured in the abdominal board 60, a magnetic detector 44 mounted on the support bracket 41, a movable member 42 movably mounted on the support bracket 41 and movable relative to the support bracket 41 and the magnetic detector 44, a magnetic member 45 mounted on the movable member 42 to move in concert with the movable member 42 and movable reciprocally to pass by the magnetic detector 44 to produce multiple magnetic signals in the magnetic detector 44, a transmission wire 46 connected with the magnetic detector 44 to transmit the magnetic signals in the magnetic detector 44 to a processor (not shown), and at least one elastic member 43 biased between the support bracket 41 and the movable member 42 to drive the movable member 42 to pivot outwardly relative to the support bracket 41 and to move the magnetic member 45 to space from the magnetic detector 44.

The movable member 42 of the counting device 40 is located above the support bracket 41 and is inclined relative to the support bracket 41 at a normal state as shown in FIG. 2. The movable member 42 of the counting device 40 is pushed by the elastic member 43 to abut a top wall 62 of the receiving space 61 of the abdominal board 60. The magnetic detector 44 of the counting device 40 is located above the support bracket 41. The magnetic member 45 of the counting device 40 is a magnet or an electromagnet. The magnetic member 45 of the counting device 40 is located above the support bracket 41. The transmission wire 46 of the counting device 40 extends outwardly from the receiving space 61 of the abdominal board 60 as shown in FIG. 1.

In operation, when a user's body is moved downward during a sit-up exercising process to press the top wall 62 of the receiving space 61 of the abdominal board 60, the movable member 42 of the counting device 40 is pressed downward by the user's weight, and the magnetic member 45 is moved downward to pass by the magnetic detector 44 to produce magnetic signals in the magnetic detector 44 which are transmitted by the transmission wire 46 successively to the processor which can count the times of the sit-up actions.

As shown in FIG. 4, the movable member 42a is integrally formed with the support bracket 41a so that the support bracket 41a and the movable member 42a form a substantially V-shaped elastic plate 47a.

Accordingly, the counting device 40 can count the times of the sit-up actions automatically so that the user needs not count the sit-up times by himself/herself during the exercising process, thereby facilitating the user operating the sit-up exercising apparatus.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment(s) as mentioned above, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the present invention. It is, therefore, contemplated that the appended claim or claims will cover such modifications and variations that fall within the true scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A sit-up exercising apparatus, comprising:

at least one inclined abdominal board;
a counting device mounted in the abdominal board; wherein:
the counting device includes:
a support bracket secured in the abdominal board;
a magnetic detector mounted on the support bracket;
a movable member movably mounted on the support bracket and movable relative to the support bracket and the magnetic detector;
a magnetic member mounted on the movable member to move in concert with the movable member and movable reciprocally to pass by the magnetic detector to produce multiple magnetic signals in the magnetic detector;
a transmission wire connected with the magnetic detector to transmit the magnetic signals in the magnetic detector.

2. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the counting device further includes:

at least one elastic member biased between the support bracket and the movable member to drive the movable member to pivot outwardly relative to the support bracket and to move the magnetic member to space from the magnetic detector.

3. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the abdominal board has an inner portion provided with a receiving space to receive the counting device.

4. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the movable member of the counting device is located above the support bracket.

5. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the movable member of the counting device is inclined relative to the support bracket at a normal state.

6. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 2, wherein the movable member of the counting device is pushed by the elastic member to abut a top wall of the receiving space of the abdominal board.

7. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the magnetic detector of the counting device is located above the support bracket.

8. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the magnetic member of the counting device is located above the support bracket.

9. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the magnetic member of the counting device is a magnet or an electromagnet.

10. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 2, wherein the transmission wire of the counting device extends outwardly from the receiving space of the abdominal board.

11. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 1, wherein the movable member is integrally formed with the support bracket.

12. The sit-up exercising apparatus of claim 11, wherein the support bracket and the movable member form a substantially V-shaped elastic plate.
