Hybrid electric steam turbine automotive engine
The Hybrid Electric Steam Turbine Automotive Engine is a new and useful type of engine which does not require the internal combustion of Petroleum-Based fuels. The stainless steel casting engine operates on either petroleum-based or non-petroleum-based fuels and will eliminate dependence upon petroleum-based fuel. It will reduce adverse environmental impacts caused by emissions of Green House Gases.
We, Benny Lee Berry and Benjamin Lawrence Berry, have invented an ornamental automotive engine design that is capable of operations as an engine for Transportation Vehicles. This stainless steel engine combines an electric motor and an internal combustion engine that allows for hybrid operations. The engine uses two fuels. The first fuel, Super Hydrasol, is non-hydrocarbon 100 percent hydrogen peroxide. The second fuel, Regular Hydrasol, is produced from by-products of the production of Super Hydrasol that is blended with a hydrocarbon-based fuel. Work on this patent application was not performed under contract with any organization.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES OF THE DRAWINGIn
Referring initially to
The engine does not require a carburetor. The Super Hydrasol (100% Hydrogen Peroxide} Igniter Fuel 2 is metered from the Super Hydrasol Supply 3 through the Hydrogen Peroxide Fuel Pump 4 directly through a Metallic Catalytic Screen 5 into the Forward Primary Chamber 6. This catalyst results in spontaneous burning of the 100% H2 O2. These burning gases flow through the revolving Gas Impeller 7 directly into the Secondary Chamber 8 where the Regular Hydrasol Fuel spray 9, is injected from the Regular Hydrasol Supply 10 by the Regular Hydrasol Fuel Pump 11 into this Chamber, and mixes with the burning gases flowing in from the Primary Chamber. The Regular Hydrasol Spray is thereby converted into high pressure superheated steam. This high pressure Superheated Steam 12 causes the Torque Converter Steam Turbine 13 to spin at a high angular rate of speed. The Torque Converter Steam Turbine is physically attached to the Central Drive Shaft 14 which rotates at the same high angular rate. The Central Drive Shaft drives the Reduction Gears 15 which drives the high speed Hydraulic Pumps. The Central Drive Shaft is also attached to the Flywheel 16 and the engine Cooling Fan 17. The high pressure exhaust gases pass through the Exhaust Manifold 18 and out through the Mufflers 19. The gases then pass out the Tailpipe 20 as steam. The Central Drive Shaft is also connected through gears in the vehicle transmission to the gear train which drives the wheels of the vehicle. The Central Drive Shaft is also, alternatively, driven by the attached Electric Motor 21 which is powered by electric power from the Solid Polymer Fuel Cells 22, through Drive Gears 23 attached to the Central Drive Shaft 14, as shown.
