DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Although there are bidet fixtures available that enable consumers to easily cleanse their bodies, these fixtures can take up a great deal of space in a bathroom and can be expensive to install. As such, a bidet is not a practical option for most household consumers.

Recognizing the need for a product which would enable consumers to enjoy the cleansing benefits of a bidet with a standard household toilet, thus offering a more hygienic means of removing waste matter, the present invention was developed and is hereinafter referred to as the Portable Bidet. The Portable Bidet is a specially designed fixture to be connected to existing toilet plumbing, through which a light burst of water is dispensed for use in cleansing the body following use of the facilities.

The Portable Bidet comprises a simple three-way valve 16 connected to the existing cold water line. This device is configured to also be connected to the hot water line, thereby enabling the user to control the temperature of the water dispensed through the unit by way of a simple faucet mechanism. The Portable Bidet's three-way valve 14 is further connected to an elongated water hose designed to extend from the water line, to the actual toilet bowl, where it is mounted on the underside of the rim of the toilet bowl.

Connected to the proximal end of the hose is a tapered spray nozzle 12 designed to dispense a light burst of water when activated by the user. The Portable Bidet is activated via a flush valve mounted in an easily accessed location on the toilet.

In an alternative embodiment, a soap dispenser 10 is provided. The portable bidet features a soap dispenser that the user can control with the water valve. This feature results in a clean and fresh feeling after using the toilet.

Use of the Portable Bidet is very simple and straight forward. First, the Portable Bidet is installed on any existing household toilet according to easily followed package instructions. After using the toilet per normal, the user simply activates the Portable Bidet to cleanse their body via a gentle, cleansing burst of water. The Portable Bidet can be used every time the consumer uses the facilities, offering a feeling of freshness and confidence throughout the day.

There are many benefits and advantages associated with the Portable Bidet. Foremost, the Portable Bidet offers consumers a gentle and effective means of cleansing the body, after using the restroom. A practical alternative to using excessive toilet tissue which can irritate the skin and clog plumbing, use of the Portable Bidet eliminates residue which can cause discomfort, providing a hygienic means of maintaining freshness. Consumers who use the Portable Bidet also appreciate the sense of confidence and security that this product affords. Another advantage is that the pure, light spray of water feels gentle on the skin, a particularly important health benefit for the elderly, handicapped, or individuals recovering from illness. Offering soothing relief to tender or sore skin, use of the Portable Bidet is a comfortable alternative to other methods of cleansing. Providing a clean, natural feeling with every use, the Portable Bidet offers users an easy means of feeling shower-fresh all day.

The Portable Bidet is a practical invention that provides an efficient, convenient and hygienic means of cleansing the body after using the facilities. Showering the skin with a burst of moisture, this product offers consumers comfort as well as a sense of security throughout the day.

Although this invention has been described with respect to specific embodiments, it is not intended to be limited thereto and various modifications which will become apparent to the person of ordinary skill in the art are intended to fall within the spirit and scope of the invention as described herein taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and the appended claims.
