Hair fastening device
A hair fastening device includes a support for the gasping of a hand of a person, a plurality of teeth perpendicularly extended from one side of the support in a parallel manner for separating strands of hair, a plurality of serrated or wave-like anti-slip elements each situated on one tooth and extending along the length of the respective tooth, and a plurality of arched leaf springs, each having a serrated or wave-like configuration and attached to one tooth in proximity to one anti-slip element for clasping hair passing therebetween.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a hairdressing tool and more particularly, to a hair fastening device, which is practical for cleaning and smoothening the hair as well as for clasping both thick and thin hair.
2. Description of the Related Art
Many hair fastening devices are commercially available. U.S. Pat. No. 5,082,011, issued to the present inventor, discloses a toothed hair fastener having leaf-spring elements situated between one or more of the teeth of the fastener. The leaf-springs may be integrally formed as part of the toothed hair fastener. This design of hair fastener is functional, however because the leaf-spring elements have a smooth surface, the hair clasping force is insufficient for clasping thin hair.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is one object of the present invention to provide a hair fastening device, which is practical for cleaning and smoothing the hair as well as for clasping both thick and thin hair.
To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a hair fastening device comprises a support for the gasping of a hand of a person; a plurality of teeth perpendicularly extended from one side of the support in a parallel manner for separating strands of hair; a plurality of anti-slip elements, each situated on one of the teeth and extending along the length of the respective tooth; and a plurality of arched leaf springs, each attached to one of the teeth in proximity to one the anti-slip element for clasping hair passing therebetween.
Further, the anti-slip elements and the arched leaf springs can be made having a serrated or wave-like configuration.
Further, grooves and/or ribs may be formed on the anti-slip elements and/or the arched leaf springs.

Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. For example, the anti-slip elements 15 and the anti-slip portions 14 of the arched leaf springs 13 can be made having grooves or ribs to enhance the force for clasping chair. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
Claims
