Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to a packing box, and more particularly to a snap hinge compact.

2. The Prior Arts

Currently, a typical conventional compact is mainly constituted of an upper cover and a box body. The upper cover and the box body are usually coupled together at one side by a hinge.

For example, China patent application No. 200820048517.8 discloses a flip-type compact. The flip-type compact includes an upper cover and a box body. The upper cover includes a hinge slot configured at one side of the upper cover. The box body includes a recessive slot adapted for correspondingly matching with the hinge slot. The box body further includes a hinge shaft coupled to each of two sides of an inner wall of the recessive slot for coupling with the hinge slot. The hinge shaft is rotatably coupled with the hinge slot so as to couple the upper cover to the box body. In such a way, the upper cover is allowed to rotate around the hinge shaft so as to open or close the compact.

However, in accordance with such a design, only one end of the hinge shaft is secured to the inner wall of the recessive slot, while the other end of the hinge shaft is a free end. Therefore, the hinge shaft has a low strength against pulling force. When the hinge slot is being engaged with the hinge shaft or the upper cover is turned to rotate around the hinge shaft, the hinge shaft is likely to be broken.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, a primary objective of the present invention is to provide a snap hinge compact including a hinge shaft. The hinge shaft has two ends, and both of the two ends of the hinge shaft are secured to the inner wall of the recessive slot, so as to improve the strength of the hinge shaft, and extending the lifespan of the snap hinge compact.

For achieving the foregoing objective, the present invention provides a snap hinge compact. The snap hinge compact includes an upper cover and a box body. The upper cover includes a hinge slot configured at one side of the upper cover. The box body includes a recessive slot adapted for correspondingly matching with the hinge slot. The box body includes a hinge shaft disposed in the recessive slot for engaging with the hinge slot. The hinge shaft is rotatably coupled with the hinge slot. The hinge shaft has two ends secured to two sides of an inner wall of the recessive slot, respectively.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, an inner wall of the hinge slot includes an outwardly declining surface, an inwardly recessive arcuate surface, and a flat surface. The outwardly declining surface is positioned at an outside of the inwardly recessive arcuate surface, and the flat surface is positioned at an inside of the inwardly recessive arcuate surface.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the box body includes an accommodating region for containing cosmetics therein.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the upper cover further includes a protrusion member disposed at another side of the upper cover opposite to where the hinge slot is positioned. The box body further includes a receiving slot positioned at another side of the box body opposite to where the recessive slot is positioned for correspondingly matching with the protrusion member. The protrusion member includes a first engaging block and the box body further includes a second engaging block configured in the receiving slot corresponding to the first engaging block.

According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the box body includes a projecting edge adapted for engaging with a bottom of the upper cover.

Generally, the present invention provides a snap hinge compact including an upper cover and a box body. The upper cover includes a hinge slot disposed at one side of the upper cover. In operation, since both of the two ends of the hinge shaft are secured to the inner wall of the recessive slot, the hinge shaft has two pivot points, so that comparing with the conventional snap hinge compact as discussed above, the hinge shaft of the snap hinge compact of the present invention achieves an improved strength. Therefore, when the hinge slot is engaged with the hinge shaft or the upper cover is turned to rotate around the hinge shaft, the hinge shaft is not likely to be broken.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The accompanying drawings are included to provide a further understanding of the invention, and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification. The drawing illustrates embodiments of the invention and, together with the description, serves to explain the principles of the invention.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a snap hinge compact according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an upper cover of the snap hinge compact according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a box body of the snap hinge compact according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 3, the present invention provides a snap hinge compact including an upper cover 1 and a box body 2. The upper cover 1 includes a hinge slot 11 positioned at one side of the upper cover 1. The box body 2 includes a recessive slot 21 at one side of the box body 2 adapted for correspondingly matching with the hinge slot 11. The box body 2 further includes a hinge shaft 22 positioned in the recessive slot 21. The hinge shaft 22 is adapted for being engaged with the hinge slot 11 of the upper cover 1. The hinge shaft 22 is rotatably coupled with the hinge slot 11. The hinge shaft 22 has two ends secured to two sides of an inner wall of the recessive slot 21, respectively.

In operation, because both of the two ends of the hinge shaft 22 are secured to the inner wall of the recessive slot 21, the hinge shaft 22 has two pivot points, so that comparing with the conventional snap hinge compact as discussed above, the hinge shaft 22 of the snap hinge compact of the present invention achieves an improved strength. Therefore, when the hinge slot 11 is engaged with the hinge shaft 22 or the upper cover 1 is turned to rotate around the hinge shaft 22, the hinge shaft 22 is not likely to be broken, thus extending the lifespan of the snap hinge compact. According to other embodiments, the snap hinge compact may include more or less hinge shafts 22 than that is shown in the drawings.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2, each hinge slot 11 includes two opposite inner walls symmetrically disposed. Each inner wall of the hinge slot 11 includes an outwardly declining surface 111, an inwardly recessive arcuate surface 112, and a flat surface 113. The outwardly declining surface 111 is positioned at an outside of the inwardly recessive arcuate surface 112, and the flat surface 113 is positioned at an inside of the inwardly recessive arcuate surface 112. As shown in FIG. 2, since the two inner walls of the hinge slot 11 are oppositely disposed, the two outwardly declining surface 111 of the two inner walls of the hinge slot 11 are positioned such that the hinge shaft 22 can be conveniently assembled to hinge slot 11. Similarly, the two inwardly recessive arcuate surfaces 112 defines a space allowing the hinge shaft 22 to rotate thereby, so that the upper cover 1 is allowed to rotate around the hinge shaft 22 and relative to the box body 2. Likewise, the hinge shaft 22 is also allowed to be removed out from the hinge slot 11.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the box body 2 includes a plurality of accommodating regions 23 for containing cosmetics therein.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, the upper cover 1 further includes a protrusion member 12 disposed at another side of the upper cover 1 opposite to where the hinge slot 11 is positioned. The box body 2 further includes a receiving slot 24 positioned at another side of the box body 2 opposite to where the recessive slot 21 is positioned for correspondingly matching with the protrusion member 12. The protrusion member 12 includes a first engaging block 121 and the box body 2 further includes a second engaging block 241 configured in the receiving slot 24 corresponding to the first engaging block 121. The first engaging block 121 can be engaged with the second engaging block 241. When the first engaging block 121 is engaged with the second engaging block 241, the upper cover 1 is closed to the box body 2. According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the box body 2 includes a projecting edge 25 adapted for engaging with a bottom of the upper cover. In such a way, the upper cover 1 and the box body 2 can be closed more tightly.

Although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments thereof, it is apparent to those skilled in the art that a variety of modifications and changes may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention which is intended to be defined by the appended claims.
