Bed frame wheel protector for home

Abstract

A urethane cup having a slot in the middle covering and completely enclosing the bed frame wheels and shaft to keep you from stumping your toes. Near the bottom of the cup is a slot which the wheel sits in. The remainder of the cup is for the shaft protection. The slot may be formed during the manufacturing as a removable unit, so the cup can be used selectively on bed frames and shafts. A simple application: lift frame and set wheel into cup slot. The lip at the opening must be extended for added safety.

Description

FIG. 1a is a vertical rendition of a drawing representing an injection molded urethane cup which is slotted with interior walls which is molded to the cup walls and the base of the cup. Also, the urethane cup has an extended lip for wheel shaft which is molded during manufacturing.

FIG. 1b is a horizontal rendition of a drawing representing an injection molded urethane cup which is slotted with interior walls which is molded to the cup walls and the base of the cup. Also, the urethane cup has an extended lip for wheel shaft which is molded during manufacturing.

FIG. 2 represents the extended lip that is molded to the urethane cup and the opening, which is the wheel slot and the wall lining of the cup.

FIG. 3 represents a side view and an interior look at the wall structure of the wheel slot and a look at the molded urethane cup.

FIG. 4 represents a look from the bottom up to the top of the urethane cup, and also it shows a view of the slot and the walls of the slot which are molded to the urethane cup.

I claim a simple application: lift the bed frame and sit wheel into the cup slot. Dimensions:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention involves a urethane cup with the interior slotted for wheel protection and shaft.

2. Description

I designed The Stumper based on my own experience. I was getting into bed and hit my toe on the bed frame wheel. The pain was excruciating and I did not want to hit my toe again. I made a protector for my bed frame wheels and shaft, and believe that same type of protector will help other people. The Stumper will help people having difficulty moving around bed frames that have wheels. Bed frame wheels are usually made of solid rubber or hard plastic, which causes injury to toes. Also, sometimes when raising your foot up close to the bed frame shaft, it will cause injury between the toes. This invention eliminates these problems completely.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

One object of this invention is to provide peace of mind while making your bed or walking around your bed. You can move with assurance that you won't hurt yourself by the wheels or the shaft.

The advantage is that it can be either transparent or made in different colors to match decor. It can be moved without breaking, and moved with cup in place, and is easily installed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF INVENTION

The invention is to protect people's toes from getting stumped, associated with today's bed frames. Most problems arise from the wheels and the shaft. They can both cause problem and injury to the toes and between the toes. The invention is an injection molded urethane cup (1), which can be removed, and it can be moved around on carpet or hardwood floors with cup intact without tearing the carpet or scratching the wood floors. It will be flexible, shatterproof, long lasting, and durable; and will be used by lifting the bed frame and sitting the wheel into the cup slot (2). It has two holes: one common hole, which is the opening, and one smaller hole, which is the slot (2). The extended lip is for more space away from the shaft for added protection for your toes.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

In accordance with the present invention, a urethane cup for bed frame and shaft protection, the lower portion having a slot and side wall. It makes it strong, yet flexible and soft at the bottom where most of the problems arise. For added protection, the cup continues up the shaft to add protection against the metal shaft.

1) The invention is a urethane cup with a slot in the middle, that has four side walls defining two interior openings for wheel and shaft.

2) The invention covers the wheel and shaft of home bed frames.

3) The invention keeps you from stumping your toe.
